Back onboard one of my all time favourite aircraft, the Boeing 757! This time was for a blast down to Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands from a grey & wintery Manchester. This aircraft, one of very few 757's flying these days without winglets! 34 Year old, G-LSAI. The exact same aircraft that I flew on from Manchester to Prague back in December 2015. A very busy flight down to Lanzarote, only a handful of empty seats throughout the aircraft, fortunately for me one of them was 8B, next to me. Not the greatest legroom on Jet2's 757's it has to be said, but the choice of food and quality of service is always good, never had any bad experiences with them. Although I did have my doubts that this flight would get swapped to a A321 or maybe a 737. But obviously that wasn't the case.
Anyhow once onboard, we pushed back nearly 30 minutes behind schedule and just as we did the heavens opened. A torrential downpour consisting of a mixture of rain & snow. The skies to the north of the airport looked full of it. After starting engines, taxied out to RWY23R for departure towards the South West. Climbing above the clouds to 37,000ft. Once in the cruise I show you a little of the seat area, legroom as well as a look out the menu & prices of what's on offer to purchase whilst on a Jet2 flight. Legroom isn't great unfortunately, I'm 6ft exact.
Unfortunately not much in the way of views during the flight, in fact almost the entire way across France, the Bay of Biscay, Spain, Portugal and down the Atlantic it was grey, dull & overcast. Caught a glimpse of land over northern Spain, other than that nothing. A beautiful final approach into ACE along the coast and over the beach onto RWY03. Landing just a few minutes behind schedule, despite the 30 minute late departure, after a flight time of 4 hours 2 mins.

The RB 211 start up is awesome.
This is awesome! One of the old Jet2 757’s! And without winglets! You really don’t see many of these aircraft around these days, and they will be going before we know it so now is definitely the best time to get on one!

That 757 is looking in incredibly good shape for an old girl. The Jet2 livery looks good on anything, but it really suits the Fifty Seven.
One of the good things I’ve noticed about jet2 is that they really do look after their aircraft well.
The sound of a classic jet engine !
G-LSAI is the oldest passenger 757 in service worldwide, and I certainly miss seeing her and the rest of the fleet at Leeds Bradford, but at least we still get the 737-300s. Wonderful machines!

This was always a good flight. I would rather this one instead of the B737 from Blackpool when that was operational.

Flew on this 757 last week from Fuerteventura, great plane,my window casing was coming off,Seat 8a, but the seats were so close together,the 737 had more room,but loved the roar of the engines.Great plane,great sound, but needs more leg space.

Last October I flew from Leeds Bradford airport - Arrecife airport.
Nice. Off there in ten days but with EasyJet from Gatwick. Have always rated Jet2. Back with them in May. Hope u had a great time!!

'Not great legroom', lol, of course there ain't! It's a 757, which is years old! Did you think the cabin layout was gonna change in 2022? Your lucky that beast is still flying :)
These are the only planes you get at LBA (Leeds Bradford airport) which is my local airport
No J2 75 at leeds anymore . There are many other types though . Not sure where you get only aircraft at leeds from🤷♂️.

The cabin layout on these aircraft has changed dramatically over the years. Airlines can tailor them to their specific requirements . Every airline has slightly different specs .

Having paid full attention to the safety brief with a camera poking through a window where exactly is your nearest exit if the forward galley is on fire and smoke is rapidly filling the cabin after an emergency landing?
Are you taking the piss? You can hold a camera & watch the demo or are you incapable? My nearest exit was 2 rows behind me, where I boarded. If you were paying that much attention 🤔

Well, they wouldn’t be operating if Jet2 weren’t able to profit from their operations. Besides, they will unfortunately be replaced by A321neos in the coming year.
