I had been hesitant on buying an arbor press, I didn't want to have to immediately modify something new.. Then I saw your video. Excellent!
Only perk to getting larger than a 1T or 1.5T is that the 2 and 3 ton arbors can accept larger work pieces with a deeper throat
Just bought an arbor press yesterday to do just this. Using the magnet is epic! Way easier than drilling the ram and plate for the tools. Thank you!

Hi Geordie. You could buy another piece of steel to lay on top of your wide emossing paterns, like the one with the letters "GEORDIE", and it will apply the pressure uniformly to the whole word.
Put a longer handle and a ram head on. Makes life a lot easier.
Which magnet do you have? The US Amazon link takes me to a page that has a lot of magnets. Need to know which one to get. Also, what did you get the white plastic board you used? Is it just a plastic cutting board that you cut to size? I’m looking to get an arbor press to use for leather working and jewelry stamping. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Here I am 3 years later. Watching this same video. And I have to wonder, did the magnet ever split in half or break from all those presses? I use my press with a stitching iron and a magnet, and it works well, I just need to get a metal plate like yours, currently I only use a cutting board and it bows sometimes.
I like the idea of using the press as opposed to a hammer, quiet for late at night working.
