I'm loving that every weapon is getting a reposition skill. It's gonna make everything feels more smooth and fluid as you fight a monster
I remember trying to get into MH on PSP and how clunky and slow the combat felt, now it's extremely fluid and engaging.
Yer it looks like we're getting at least 1 evasive option and 1 counter option on each weapon. Variety and choice are king 🙂
Being too fluid makes it like fighting something isnt really a challenge, and thats an issue for me
Its kinda dumb. Nothing requires commitment anymore, you can willy nilly throw out any attack regardless of what the monster is doing, and just silk bind evade or counter when you make a mistake. Monster hunter was a challenging rpg, now its just a spam fest
It sucks that everything is getting that, honestly pathetic
Oh god, the 2-staged morph slash is much better than I thought. Gonna need that for sure.
Just when you thought the swagiest weapon in the games couldnt be more swag… Silkbind Step looks stylish AF
I love how the switch skills that were added all focus on making the switch axe have an even more aggressive playstyle, even the counter as immediately from it you are in sword mode and can go right back to attacking but now you are in your amped up state. The silk step seems the same way, as it lets you stay on the monster without taking damage during your long recovery frames to get right back to attacking
Switch axe was the first weapon I fell in love with when I started playing in 3U. But I was always WAY too aggro with it. And the lack of defensive options with the weapon didn't really suit my play style. I would still play it, it was my secondary weapon in Rise. But I would always cart way more 😅 But this update. Man. This looks perfect. The defensive options I've been waiting for.
@@remmer3380 rise all you need is 1 point evade extender. but might be not necessary now
@@lecommenter8528 always play with at least evade extender 1. I just tend to over commit to combos and get stuck in big animations 🙃
@@remmer3380 yeah the 2 hit sword animation or the 2 hit animation from sword to axe is always the worst feeling getting hit out of
Hate that the counter automatically puts you in amped state honestly. Now powder phials are going to completely dominate once again when base Rise was pretty diverse in options.
SWITCH AXE USERS RISE UP
WE EATING NOW BOYS
Phenomenal work on these, thank you very much for these practical demonstrations
You can tell that the people responsible for this weapon actually play and love the weapon.
Awesome vid! I can now see how Wirebug whisperer 3 is a must in every set in sunbreak
Not necessarily, the new redirection skill seems a lot more potent that wirebug whisperer as it plays more into the switch mechanic of sunbreak
@@dylanabernethy8676 That's assuming that people will rely on the skill swap so much. For most people, they won't be swapping as often as using the silkbinds skills. That's what I think anyways.
Holy crap the silk "swing" looks amazing, even as a repositioning tool when monster falls over and you're in bad spot to hit weak points.
Swaxe was my secondary during rise, 100% gonna be my main in sunbreak. Ironsilk step seems just like what it needed.
I am now even more in love with the swaxe.
switchaxe mains eating good after 13 years. Its always been a weapon about positioning and non stop attacking, which is why frontier embodied the essence of swaxe perfectly. glad its finally getting respect it deserves in mainline. Hopefully there are more silk binds that just 3 for each weapon
doubtful considering there was only like what 3 in the base game aswell , i wish though i wish just with updates theyd add more
@@chunchoe there's five swappable skills in sunbreak I think theve all got 3 options to them.
@@fangk12345 oh really? that sounds sick then
I'm pretty convinced it would be very werid if only some has 3 options and some had 2
Bro that move is BEAUTIFUL
Iron Silk Step looks FREAKING AMAZING!! 🎃
Damn this is so cool holyshit, now Swaxe is gonna be even more insane now you can switch between Invincible Gambit and this!
@PallyK nah each of the new silkbind are in separate slots so it’s in the invincible gambit slot
Ironsilk step looks so gooood
Bro! These new moves are so damn slick! I wanna get in on this back again! It's been awhile since I've used Switch Axes properly, this will be fun.
oh my god this is just what swaxe needs right now more aggressive playstyles are fun and more rewarding.
This is the sexiest… scratch that. SWAGGIEST weapon to ever do it.
Those fools they gave swag axe the one thing it needed...a good dodge.
😮😮😮😮 I can already see myself using these moves!
OK this silkstep is perfect
They made mobility with the Switch Axe even better!
from yeeting your friends in MHP3rd into yeeting yourself to dps
Rapid morph swaxe just became godlike
Swaxe main for life. It’s getting too good to be true man.
I’ll personally be using that reposition more than the counter, unless I’m running power phials.
I Love this weapon.
Silkbind step looks nice, but it seems likely that it'll be somewhat redundant with the reposition armor skill unless you're running two very different skill scrolls
I think ironsilk step is my fav of the new reposition-ers based off of style alone lol
This armor and weapon alone is enough to make me wanna main swaxe
The ironsilk step is so good 🥵
Thank you so so much God bless you
Wirebug whisperer is probably a must if you want to use the counter and ironsilk step in the same scroll. Overall, not bad for variations of style.
SA got foresight now. Ggs
The silkstep is next level....
Seems like a lot of weapons got simple repositioning silk bind moves.
Ah yes, its morphin time.
It's Morphin time
Broooooo iron silk step is legit perfect for Swaxe goddamn cmon 30th I really cannot carry anymore of this hype!!!
bro they fixed all of the downsides of switch axe. It's the real winner I must admit.
I think that ironsilk step has a very generous i-frame. The hunter evaded the whole astalos' tail sweep easily, which is quite difficult to do with normal evade.
looks as generous as recall kinsect
Skill floor and cieling going through the roof along with style, sign me up switch swax swap squad.
looks like any weapon has their own adept move with silkbind skill
A hot take but I think they should bring back the fade slashes from frontier for SA
I never played Frontier so I looked up switch axes move sets and that actually sounds like a fun idea. I also liked how the discharge in Extreme style looked, with you slamming the sword at the grounds and punching the phial to fire it off.
They do have fade slash? It’s a post wild swing move
Alright, this rocks.
Ironsilk step s seem instant and like they last the whole animation, is that the case or are the hitboxes of astalos not very lingering
i-frames last that long
@@Harv-E holy moly
@@Harv-E thats busted
that ironsilk step is what SA needed...
I main Lance and lbg and sub swaxe in base rise. looks like ill main this a lot at sunbreak.. i wish theres more changes in lance for sunbreak release tho
i'm gonna cry...
I thought I'm the last of my kind
hello fellow lance main
lance damage was buffed a lot, especially for element
Bruh swaxe be shmovin’
Sorry im newbie.. how did your do the iron silk steps?
EVERYONE GOT ABSOLUTE EVADE!!!!!
Shit. Ironsilk step is a game changer.
Will iron silk replace the counter or u can run both?
Wait so what is up with these secondary new moves that arent in the showcases, where are they from
There's a mod going around, where people using cheat engine are able to essentially cheat in hidden switch skills into the demo to play around with. There's probably more than what people have found since this isn't the final build of the game simply the demo.
Whoaa they gave us a counter and a dodge on demand pretty much. -birdman handrub-
I'm sad we're not getting Tempest Axe back from GU :
I love this, how long until I can see DB showcase?
IG and HH are next then DB and GL,
bowguns and bow will be in the final batch.
Doing these as fast as I can but learning each of these weapons, using these moves, getting clips and then editing taking little longer than I thought they would so production is real slow.
@@Harv-E keep it up man, these vids are awesome
@@Harv-E can’t thank you enough for the time and effort
What does ironsilk step replace?
The Ironsilk Step seems kind of unnecessary when we already have the counter and you could get a similar effect with a well timed Switch Charger since it has I-Frames on startup.
2 words, animation cancel, yes it can be replaced with the counter, but like most heavy weapon in MH, sometimes those long attack animations can make you take heavy hits, this move can be used ANYTIME during your heavy combos like the continuous axe swings, sword slash combos, and then immediately give you i-frames and better repositioning options
@@spikygamer987 I guess I didn’t consider the animation cancelling. Still since this is most likely going to be mapped to the ZR+A wirebug slot, I think I’ll skip it. The Switch Charger is essential for me and the new counter is just too much fun.
Exactly this! That means you can use SA's heavy-hitting attacks for damage rotations even on small openings, as long as you have a wirebug for cancelling to ironsilk step.
@@blusliver6302 I know it’s most likely not gonna be a problem but for what it does, Ironsilk Step better have a short cooldown.
@@bladenight23 Hmm, I think somewhere in the comment section mentions that the move uses the same slot as Invincible Gambit and Soaring Wyvern, can someone collaborate? If that's the case then Swaxe is gonna be nuts~
Does iron silk replace switch charger?
I dont get what Morph Slash combo is replacing, isnt it just a straight upgrade from the regular morph slash?
what is the point of still having the old one
Dataminers found that the old one is getting a significant damage increase so it won’t be complete trash anymore
But this still looks better in every scenario.
Ironsilk Step is nice and definitely fits with Switch Axes style but it’s hard to justify replacing SWB for this. At least Invincible Gambit is useful in some match ups but this is just seems ehh.
That 2-Staged Morph Slash though is pretty fucking good. Completely replacing the old on for me.
And we might also get the scroll evade via armor skill which RESTORES wirebugs. I'm doubting Ironsilk Step's usage
It really depends how tight slots will be on new armors, and whether the swap guard point needs to scale with guard up (which is a possibility, but we’ll have to test).
Also, it reduces the skill tax. If I have a choice between bringing this on one of my two scrolls and being able to gem something like polish 3, WW3, or 2-3 levels of elem attack if it’s a single slot, or gemming in redirection and having to lose one of those, I’m bringing this. I don’t even use Invincible Gambit much because switch charger is such a reliable i-frame AND charges your switch gauge.
I dont play Switch axe so im not used to its movement
but why does these new moves feel like you are "Flowing like water" ; the movements seem fluid , its like dodging is an attack for reason
That's always how swaxe has been in Rise since they added Rapid Morph. Switching modes is basically an extra roll with a hitbox attached (but no i-frames) so you always bob and weave in and out of the monster's range by switching modes. Definitely very fluid, now even moreso with these new moves
I'm stuck here trying to find out how you get to use moves that no one else can either use or moves that people just straight up don't know
It's pc magic called cheat engine.
Ironsilk Step looks situational but better than relying on Wirefall and making yourself look like dumb.
Get wire bug 3 on charm and then you are set. No more farming charm.
Dammit why does it seem like my CB isnt gonna be as fun as the Swaxe, might be switching mains..
First they came after longsword... They're going to come after us next aren't they? 👀
Damn swax is looking swexy in sunbreak!
We can counter them, evade them and make them explode. We're untouchable
I do ask (idk if its dumb) but how do you have access to these?
Even though they are not accessible they are still in the demo.
All it takes to change that is something to modify the software.
What does Ironsilk Step replace?
Charger move, the Silkbind with A
Does the evade replace the new counter or can you use both?
You can use them both, this replaces soaring wyvern and invincible gambit.
@@Harv-E Aay that's good news
I’m a goddam swax main now
The first soundtrack is dope, is it a new one?
This is the one I've been using for all the videos
@@Harv-E oh i didnt watched all of the videos yet, but what i mean is if this is a new soundtrack in MHRise^^
@@friedrichdergroe2074 nope, this is from World.
@@Harv-E ah thanks^^ shame on me i turned the music off back in the day when i played world
Pleaseeee do dual blades next
He doesn’t want to because of his local Vaal fanboy. D:
Does the evade combo with compressed elemental discharge?
That counter one? yes. This replaces soaring wyvern and other invincible gambit.
@@Harv-E No no no, can ironsilk step be used to cancel the recovery animation of compressed elemental discharge. Compressed elemental discharge is the switch skill for zero sum discharge
@@Hubin12 just tested, it doesn't work.
@@Harv-E aw man. Thank you so much regardlessly
What move does the Ironsilk Step replace?
Soaring wyvern and invincible gambit
@@Harv-E that doesnt seem worth it at all
@@Jpmrocks7 ironsilk gives full invincibility and cancels out of EVERY attack
@@kodosquea1994 i mean thats great and all, but unless you plan on never zsding, it seems not to great.
swag axe mains up rn 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Ironsilk step seems a total game changer tbh
err...so....why give switch axe the ability to simply throw the bug out and be able to tug themselves towards it for the sake of doing an evade? seems like this is what the skill swap evade shouldve been, seems pointless giving something that literally every weapon can use but just for switch axe
Skill swap evade isn't instant like ironsilk step
Not every ability has instant evades and skill swap evades allows you to immediately reposition after swapping at the cost of no bug so you can get into a position to use bugs on more useful moves.
It's incredibly good in the sense that it smooths out the mechanic of switching and doesn't make it overly committal and allowing you different venues of attack.
Morb axe
no slash evade yet huh
Slash evade?
@@Harv-E as the name suggest its like, an evade, where you slash, its from frontier's Switch Axe F
@@Glasyara I see, not familiar with frontier stuff. Would be neat if they'd just remaster it or make a game like that again in the future.
