What is Freebording?
Freebords are a skateboard designed to simulate the behavior of a snowboard on concrete. Freebords were developed to allow snowboarders to transition to skateboarding (as non-winter transport) without needing to adapt to a smaller deck and narrower wheel-base. Unlike longboarding or mountain boarding, freebording allows you much more versatility with tricks like on the ground like 360 spins and carving. (The spellings Freeboard and Freeboarding are commonly used as well) - Sport

*These locations you're skatin* 🤩
Theyre great, I love the spots Ive found now!
Thx for this!!
No worriess, gotta spread the word 😎
First of all: Thanks for this bunch of infos, I'm thinking of buying second hand.
Also I gotta ask - where did you get that beauuuuutiful blue grip tape?
Great vid
Snowboarder for the past 14 years and am looking to try this.
You should!
title is spot on!
well put together dude
Thanks man! I hope you freebord already or get one if not 😎
@easy_riders been a few years now, but I was actually freebord rookie of the year winner way back in 2010.
Loved it so much. Keen to track down a bord n get back into it
@@davo_t definitely do! Make some videos too, Id love to see them! 😎
@easy_riders cheers man, in the meantime, if ya wanna check out some of my vids I made when I was riding, just search Dave Taylor freebord.
So sick! I post skating videos too idk what I would do if I didn’t skate 😂
Yeah skating adds a lot to my life, its so fun exploring the area where you live for new spots 🔥
So where does your weight distribution have to be? More on your front foot, so you can slide out the back? How do you then stop the slide? Transfer weight to the back again? Thank you for your awesome videos, just learning on a Summerboard at the moment :D
Mm I guess its different for summerboard but I find I ride the freebord slightly back heavy. I think this is something that happens naturally (unless your spinning or drifting) but you can try to make your stance more even to avoid chatter! Hope this helps and I'm glad you enjoy the videos 👌
P.s if you enjoy the SBX then you'll love Freebording 😎
Great vid though got confused with mid wheel placement. For a beginner should the mid wheel be adjuster higher to the board side or lower to the roadside. Thanks.
I mean I max out the rocker, you could definitely learn that way. You want about 3cm of rocker id say, so normally maxing it out or having the wheel on the second to last one will do!
So I never put the carver cx front truck on the freebord. Surfskating is so chill and fun I don't wanna disasemble it.
Oh yeah you said youd try that! Im half tempted to buy a surfskate, are they always like $300?
@@easy_riders the santa cruz dot pig was 200€ but the deck is shit i used that for a portable cruiser, yow snappers deck was 89€.
@@easy_riders the loaded whatever cx is like 311€ sorta wish i had gotten that cause it has more concave but the yow snappers from last year looks way better
@@cereal_thinker whats good about the concave for surfskates?
@@easy_riders more grip/ lock in (i guess you could use skate blockers) the dot pig was also so long and late rise in the nose and tail I'd amost fall back or forward when I placed my feet wrong cause I usually ride a downhill skateboard. Online they all say yow has less concave and to only get the yow decks with max concave called high performance or something. So my foot sorta slipped once and now I'm like shoulda got the loaded whatever carver cx.
Is this good for pumptrack or bowl?
Quentin just made a good video on that, I guess it is if you know how to Freebord already but it's not the best place to learn it.
