In this video I find out what happens if you use an electric skateboard as your main mode of transport. I swapped my bicycle for an electric skateboard and found out about the pros and cons of using this device. I challenged myself to use an electric skateboard over the course of 7 days.

Why not bring a charger with you and charge it when you're at the coffee shop or the library they have plugins?
You dont have to wait till its fully charged
@BigFatCone Certain boards have regenerative braking, I find it really useful to maintain your battery on a slightly longer commute
30mins is enough, and buying a second battery might be useful.. its not rocket science but it may be for many of you
@BigFatCone you must have missed the coffee shop part coffee shops let you hang out as long as you want just maybe buy a cup of coffee here and there
@BigFatCone Sorry you live in a country where you're not allowed to sit at the coffee shop and sit on a laptop or conversate with a friend...

@cat What not really? Of course it´s stupid to go that fast with no safety. If he falls, he falls directly onto his head.

I commute to and from work on my WowGo 2 and it’s working great! It’s only a mile each way but since I work at an airport, half of that mile is through the terminal, on a floor that’s smooth as silk, so the ride is fun and fantastic!!! I get a lot of looks from people (probably because I’m a 57 yr old on an electric longboard) and lots of positive comments: “Nice board!”, “I need one of those”, “Now THAT’S the way to go!”, “Can I borrow that?”, etc.
are you allowed
Are you still doing it? I want to do it for a year or so.
"Can I borrow that"?!???

What an awesome advertising opportunity for Backfire skateboards. You gave them some awesome exposure in a really professional and well-executed video. I hope other companies see this and choose to sponsor some of your future videos.
Your honest and realistic review reminds me of the channel Seth's Bike Hacks, whose channel blew up following a few high-quality videos like this one!
All the best dude, hope you continue to improve.
It wasn't that great tbh
Fantastic video. For more than 2 years already, I commute with an electric skateboard. 7000 km roughly, depends on a 10 km commute each day. Hope this video inspires more people to commute with electric skateboards.
Hey can I ask you what mantainance do you do regularly for that miles ? Thank you
wow...the CEO of meepo seamlessly making a wholesome comment on a video that doesn't even advertise his company! ❤I'm currently waiting on replacement parts covered under the free 6month warranty since one of my motors stopped working at exactly 300 miles. this made me happy to be a supporter of meepo❤
I'm looking to buy some extra batteries to make my 49 mile roundtrip commute at least a few times per week. I figure the batteries will pay for themselves in no time with 91 octane fuel prices and Mercedes wear and tear costs... not to mention I won't have to sit in traffic and I love my Meepo V3 that I could easily plug in outside of my office.
thanks for putting work into this, amazing editing and also getting a bigger youtube into this hobby. nice!
I'm getting a skateboard now! Thanks for inspiring people!
Are you getting a normal skateboard or eboard?
A normal one.
Did you get it yet
Zackarus that’s awesome man. good luck !

Hey Bruno i just wanna thank you, you inspired me to get of my bed and buy a skateboard, now i really suck but im trying my hardest, i said this before but THANK U

Yo man keep pushing dude. We all sucked when we first started. You just gotta stick to it and try and try and try and fall and get back up and try and try again. Never give up and keep pushing dude.
These are the comments I love seeing. I just ordered my electric longboard. I am already pretty good at normal longboards though, so it will be easier for me. Good luck, and keep practicing!

Wow your video editing got 100x more amazing. Good job bruh🤘
Nice job with the video! I can tell a ton of work went into editing the front half and it looks great.
FYI They also make wall mounts specifically for skateboards, but the guitar mount works too!
Love this! Awesome editing!
I’m gonna use that guitar holder trick for my board in my room now
Had G2T for a few months, it's a great board. I had to use support and they fixed the problem quickly and competently. Recent favorite feature is cruise. At 6 mph I can just cruise around with little worries or for videos with two free hands. Look forward to using it more for commute and fun. Solid investment at just $600. From a 3yr Boosted rider.
getting a G3 in spring time once rain slows down in my city. Thanks to you sir, I feel confident purchasing it
Bought a board for black friday last year. Still in great condition! The battery had some issues for a while, but after getting some advice from the manufacturer, luckily it worked itself out without having to exchange the battery.
Best buy I have ever made.
Damn. That was a cool video. I am quite surprised how short a range a factory board has. I commute 30+ kilometres a day on my self made monster. It does come at the cost of it being quite heavy
What kind of battery do you use?
gonna talk about the pro's and cons, doesn't really mention any cons.
Fair enough
The range seems to be a pretty big con IMO.. But yeah, sponsored vid..

There are so many nice little paths to skate. I really wish the U.S. had more dedicated bike paths and bike racks. Most of ours dont go anywhere useful

currently on week 2 of commuting daily to and from work in sofia and i love it. my commute is 20km round trip and i use an electric mountain board (due to the conditions of the roads) so far takes me the same time as it took me with a car sitting in traffic.
Awesome love your content man!
I've been doing this on my Riptide R1X with a surf-skate adapter. It's been almost a year now. 8-10 miles a day.
Going to the hospital at night for emergencies (when I'm on call).
If you're able to skate you should seriously think about it. And if you really know how to skate, you need the Waterborne Surf Kit / Surf Adapter. It's incredibly smooth, super-sharp carves yet unbelievably stable. Unreal. It's great for maximising the fun factor, but also for safety. Avoiding obstacles last minute is much easier when you can quickly turn.
I'd recommend the ABEC 11 Refly wheels (74A) which make riding really fast much safer (I switched to other wheels and I crashed on a nasty road patch that wasn't even noticeable on the ABECs).
I haven't tried the Boosted 105s (seem amazing) or the evolve 6" All-terrain wheels.
I really like the Riptide R1X because it's shorter and has a kicktail. It allows me to carve better.
Happy national skateboarding day you guys!!!🛹👌🍕
Its actually international 😀
When is international skateboard day? What is the date?

I ordered my G2T in february and got it 2 days ago. Today I let one of the employees at my work take the board home and use it untill tomorrow because he really liked it and had a normal crouser board to go home on and I got so much work to do that I do not have time to use it now. I used it a couple of times and for a guy never been on a skateboard before I learned it fast. Already cruse at 15km/h. Will keep riding and improving.
Nice man love the new content
It actually comes in handy. No need to deal with parking..but theres a risk of falling lol but still fun.
10:54 "whats up my cheese"
As a guitaris i have a lot of those string swing guitar hooks, and when you showed they can hold boards i was so happy!
Video is incredibly well done. I'll be riding e-skateboard soon so it is super exciting for me!

Please make Uber Eats again! I Love your Vids !
Nice vid! I've logged over 1500 miles on Boosted Boards, such a crazy rush every time I ride
I’ve used my regular skateboard to commute around OC and the only downside I’ve had is getting run over and my legs feeling weak after a long day or my feet hurting from cracks and cobblestone, I can’t wait to get my first electric ⚡️ 🛹 thanks for the vid!
I've been using my electric longboard as my main method of commuting for several months now. Really fun and handy since I live in a city where everything is reasonably close by. In Belgium btw.

This video is awesome. I learned so much
As someone who came from a regular cruising style of skating, I recently started commuting the 5.5 miles to my job on my new Blitzart Hurricane Electric Longboard and absolutely loving it. Having been paying for Lyft rides for the past month, which are anywhere from $10-$20 dollars per ride, its so much cheaper to ride my board to work and back. Its freeing and fun getting to work now.
More electric skareboard videos and try get a boosted mini x or mellow drive or a video on the smallest electric skateboard
The meepo mini is the smallest and most fastest e board I've heard of
Would be so sick to recharge the board when you skate on naturally.
No nonsense. Thank you.
I'm glad I could find this considering that my job is about 4 miles away and I use it as a basically a daily commute so it's good to know that there are other options as well.
3:40 Start
Did you have to recharge during those 14.2 km on Day 6?
Nope! Didn't charge it during any of the days. (only overnight) I think the battery died on day 2 a lot faster because my bearings were tightened too much.
Great video , very entertaining love from the PH
Great video! I need one to commute a couple miles to school but I need to save up! Subd, and liked!
This is TV quality and NOT love island level!!! GOOD TV
I committed on a electric skateboard for half a year my friend though it was weird but it was fun
I have the Backfire G2S Galaxy and use mine as my main form of transport to and from work in Denmark (7.8km each way) and I looooove it. Committing has never been more fun! Just get some good music playing and it's amazing. Can't wait to ride it around my old routes in Amsterdam too 😎
LOVE THE DRAMATIC ROLL-IN 😂🤣😂

I saw this video a bit over a year ago, I had just recently broken my old cheap electric longboard and got curious about this brand backfire. Now just over a year later I have a backfire g3 in the mail on the way and absolutely can’t wait to try it!!
Happy go skate day 😃
Me: looks up how much these are to get one
Also me: wth is this it's 600$ I wants this much money
I've used my electric skateboard to commute to and from work for about a year and a half. Pros (quick, easy, simple) cons (rainy days it becomes dangerous.....that is all). If you're using it to ride to work it's find. if you're using it to ride to meet friends for lunch...you're in a bit of trouble as you'll have to carry it around with you unless you're willing to leave it somewhere (to most likely get stolen). In my opinion it's one of the best ways to get to commute so long as you have a place to store it.
I ride an Evolve ONE board. Riding it 5 days a week for about one and a half years. No crashes and only part that needed replacing was the motor plate and wheels.
That guitar holder buy was the most brilliant thing I found in this video lol
Amazing video bro. Like if this guy deserves more subs.
FINNER don’t try to get likes
I would rather like the video since you are a beggar and liking the video would actually help him get subs
Hey what shoes are those they look amazing
I do this everyday with my Backfire board, I only use the bike when it is raining, I've had the G2S with the bigger battery since December, can strongly recommend it.
2:20 I've learned from doing a lot of unboxings that the easiest method here is to open one end, then put the open end on the floor. Then just lift the outer box off.
The Evolve Bamboo GTX (Like I have 🇬🇧) has the best range out of all the electric skateboards (30 miles 50km) or something like the boosted mini will fit in a gym locker.
it appears you need more fingers and toes to do your math on, the Lacroix Nazare has a conservative range of 60 miles . If your going to make silly claims about your mid level board try to get the facts right
@@beelzebobtheinnocent1659 the kaly XL 50+ has the also a range of 60 mies
But the gtx is defenetely a high performance board
And then it rained...back to the bike xD
Been using my Jking for 3 months now as a daily. I use it for transportation almost solely and it is incredible. Best bang for the buck with the Jking imo.

If it rains then its a no go...from experience :(
i guess thats if you have normal slick wheels but should be no problem with terrain tyres
You could also add a nicely sanded and finished (linseed oil is great) wooden touch plate to the wall so the wheels don't scuff the white wall and you can make is long enough for either board.

I think this way of transportation has a lot of potential. If you would modify the board with a little hook or cirkel on it so you attach it to a chain lock. You could basicly lock it anywhere. You could lock it to a bicycle stand or a pole and you don't have to carry it with you everywhere.
The last thing that has to become better is the battery life and range and ofcourse the rules in the country
visited Amsterdam for the first time this summer, awesome place, will definitley be back!
