Wow! Thanks for the great tip, I have about like 15-20 1/4" steel Rods, about 8' L? I got a while ago doing some construction work, cutting them up now for drag sticks. I bought some 1/4" id clear vinyl tubing, perfect fit. Thanks for always being there for us, love too you and the family.
I think that'll work

I love the Bass Shack! Family owned and they are good Christian people. They take care of their customers!
Yes they do
I made my own by using 1/8th ounce worm sinkers strung on a piece of 50lb mono and they work great. cost next to nothing if you buy cheap sinkers from walmart. then I add a couple beads and a swivel
Great idea!
Awesome information Keith
Ooh love the plastic tube with weights in it, tricky but cool.
Thank you, Sir! Another great, informative, useful video.
E Z Bait & Tackle is the best shop in eastern NC

Greetings from East TN. I'm trying to up my catfish game, thank you for your content.
I go to the bass shack all the time! My favorite store.
Mine too
I miss fishing, watching ur post makes me dream of it.
Speed/current will affect the buoyancy and how they ride in the water also. Just remindin’! Awesum vid as always. I’ve mortified a few of your diy’s. Some good some not so.
That's what DIYs are all about , if a video makes you say ,,,hey that gives me an idea 💡 . Then it was a good one 👍
Good information and some humor too. Love it!
Thank you Sir
Top, top, supertop, this man walks on clouds respect to all others ....genius

Another good one!

Thank you brother
The bass shack is AWESOME! Love that place!
Me too , they are great people
We don’t have bass, trout , salmon or even cats here it’s an all salt species fishing with almost everything being a coral bottom…having vertical ledges of coral that can be a 1’ to 30 ‘ it’s not so much about what kind of weights u use but more knowledge of area u fish…although your vid has got me thinking of some different presentations I’ll try…great vid 👍🏼…Fishin is Wishin 😎
Thank you Sir . I know everything is for everyone but no snag weights child be beneficial to every type fishing
I love your video's keep them coming 😎👍
Wow....i didn't know any of that!.....u a fishin' genius!!
Lol thank you sir
Awesome 👌 video! Always enjoy all your videos 📹
Thank you Sir
Awesome video 👍🎣, I use 3 to 5gr slinky Dragon weights for trout fishing 😃. It's excellent for going through, log gammes & fallen trees. Combined with a floating bug pattern, just drives them CRAZY 🤪😜
I don't do DIYs, but love your videos because you have so many great ideas and because of you of course
Thank you Dee
Found your video while looking for diy. Surprised to see The Bass Shak! We must be neighbors that’s my go to as well. I’m in Belwood.
I'm bout 45 mins from there . Bass Shack is Awesome
Wait, thats my bass shack! You must live very near me. I have a red BumbleBee bass boat on Moss lake, lake Wiley, etc. If you ever see me holler.

No Sir I have Covid in 2020 but ive been good this year , but life gets hectic sometimes . I appreciate your support and for you always watching Mate
Haha Dragon waits.🤗😎😁
I prefer to make my own fishing hunting stuff 45% of time. Nothing like catching a fish or game animal something you build or made . Kick ass video.
Thank you Sir
Cool info. We have been waiting on a video. Hope to see more soon.
Great info! This is on my to do list below Bagnell Dam👍
Keith, Another terrific video brother. Great pros and cons info introduced and a ton of considerations to...you know...consider.
I took copious notes...when is the mid-term exam again? Anyway I've graded this video, and wouldn't you know....it achieved an "A" (for AWESOME)!!!
Lol thank you Sir
@@FishinNStuff I really enjoy your channel...especially the zingers...like the neighbors pool...I almost pee my pants each time you include that one. Love the talking jighead too...that's just awesome! I appreciate what you do.
That local tackle shop should have a bulletin board that you might be able to promote your channel...everyone who fishes should watch your channel.
@@johnbush2798 that means alot brother . I work hard on that stuff . It's hard thinking up new content and working full time but I enjoy doing it
@@FishinNStuff Keith, you may wanna consider doing a couple of fishing shows thru out the year where you use some of your amazing DIYs. Building them is great content, but I think folks would love to get to know you more. You have some mad skills in creating ideas and constructing your cost saving DIYs, but your personality and fun presentation is a big part of why subs tune in. Showing "you" afloat (in action) will build your metrics...food 4 thought.
@@johnbush2798 I agree , I have to make a video just to have time too fishing. . I euro full time and then everything weekend is spent doing CZcams
Always a hoot Thanks
Make a DIY on jug fishing. Thanks I love the videos.
I made some on my first PVC video a few years ago
I made some diy drift weights have not lost one yet .love your channel keep up the good work.
it is also worth remembering that salt water carries weight higher than fresh water. you therefore need to spend more weight on the ocean than on the lake.
That's true
Another great one thanks for the helpful hints
Video idea : DIY get ya some para cord or 550 and you can get it in many colors. No you can make bluegill and crappie hair jigs using this technique all you need is a jig head of your choice try it out ! Gut it and Frey the end and there ya go !!!
I've seen that before
@@FishinNStuff was just thinking that you could put that fishin and stuff twist on it for an awesome video! Enjoy your content brother keep em commin
@@-eddie-5406 your right I could try that lol . It would work Good on a Hack video
Awsum video thanks for the good info👍
Thank you for watching it
I heard your neighbor is draining the pool to try and figure out what those scratch marks are on the bottom.
Lol yep 🤣
Good stuff
I've been using chain for the last few years, it's cheap and rattles when goes over rocks and junk, I cut it in 4-5 once pieces
That's an interesting 🤔 idea 💡
Thats awesome right there
Great video Keith. Great information.
I made 10 dragging weights with split shots and shrink hose like 2 years ago. I still have 4 left
Can that be use for salt water fishing
I don't see why not
Another great video. thanks
Salt water vs fresh water also changes the buoyancy of the weights/floats.
I didn't even think about that . But your right
Perfect for holding my wood pile tarp down.
That man sized hook looked much like the size guys use to use back in the day trying to catch those mythical 2-300 lb catfish ,using whole chickens for bait. needless to say they never caught a thing.
That was a really big hook lol . It's a shark hook . If I remember correctly it 28/0
Good info sir! Thank you!
That feller at the pool is gonna get you one day. :) :)
Hahaha yep
I'm getting away from lead weights I pick up rocks with holes in them at the river then I run a piece of line through it tie it off and I put it on myself
That's cool . I've got 2 of 3 virus about lead alternative weight . One of the has rock and steel and all sorts of stuff the other is stuff you can pour like bismuth
Nice Tutorial ! real good never used draggin wheights during trolling just floats and lead on the leader/line to get it dooooooown there for the Pikes (dont have legal catfish here up north ) Someday il buy some or just make some of some leftover leads and tubes cant be that hard after tying flies for +20 years . Diggin the Channel and yes im Worthless with Name . Goddamnit / Paul Roger- North Sweden
Good stuff as always!
Trolling is that like looking for those Lady , cats
My favorite ones are the ones you showed a while back that used bailing wire and egg weights I still haven’t lost one
Those are actually a really old design that still works 👍
Ty
The history goes back to ol river rig or surf rig wieght on the bottom
Good video, I'M JUST SAYING!🤣
Lol
I make my own 2 oz weights and run a 3 inch orange float, and i support Charlie very well, just saying....
That's what I run too . It's really all about weight , buoyancy current and speed . Everyone knows you know what you doing Matt lol
@@FishinNStuff you need to go fishing with me some time.....
I made cooler live well . It’s AWESOME
It really is , I appreciate you watching brother
Idk if you ever seen them before but I had something similar to those stick wieghts except they thinned out at the bottom side into a long thin needle like point. My only thoughts was that it helped them maybe not get hung up.
That sounds right . I've seen something like that
Wait......what?
Who in the world would give this vid a thumbs down ?
Hey Keith have you seen William Shatner trying to be funny imitating you on the Medicare commercial. I started using dragging weights after seeing your videos thank i sure do like using them
William Shatner better watch it lol 😆
I do believe the drift sticks do not naturally go over structure because of no flex
I use stiff lead weights and they work pretty good
Love your video's! À
Walleye fisherman have been using this type of bait for dragging a "Lindy Rig" since the 1950's, at the very least.
I came here to be entertained and I got schooled!
I appreciate you coming regardless, thank you Sir
@@FishinNStuff - I didn't word that right. I was just saying that dragging weights are used for a lot of different kinds of fishing. :)
@@jasonbroom7147 I knew what you meant lol . Your right too
Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats czcams.com/users/postUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
Have you thought about using construction expansion foam to make a float?
I have thought about it but haven't figured out how to Make it clean and neat
@@FishinNStuff how about filling up those plastic Easter eggs.
Hi, so quick question. Maybe a video answer. What is the difference between bouncing weights/rigs and these drifting/slinky rigs? From what I can tell they are basically the same functionality but they are made very different. The bouncing weight is a stiff wire in a L shape similar to a large spinner lure but there is no hook. The weight is up high on the long wire and the short wire has a loop for the float and bait. How are they different? In use and form.
They are similar, I know a guy that uses this type trolling for catfish . I made some similar to what your talking about on a hack video i did
I use these instead of dragging weights and so far so good. Had a bunch from the old walleye days, a good way to use tackle that hasn’t seen water in about 20 years. We mostly catch channel cats and they work . Will need the do some comparison in a side by side to get a better understanding
PS our lake doesn’t have blue cats
This was awesome. Oh and a pound of steel weighs the same as a pound of lead. Just saying.
It is but steel weights less so your weight is larger if it's steel . Plus steel rust . I appreciate you watching brother
@@FishinNStuff that was my attempt at a joke. Pound of feathers and pound of lead steel. Anyway that’s why I watch CZcams versus make videos. LOL. Great stuff as always, thank you for what you do.
@@moneyshot68 I'm sorry , but you were correct lol . I get people saying steels cheap alot but I do like the smaller package lead delivers . 😁
What about the bait taking some of the weight of peck float?
What was the company name that had the pvc vinyl tube
We may be using draggin' weights wrong, but you need to learn the difference between *_your_* and *_you're._*
Dragon weights. Lol
Dragon , Dragging, or Drifting weights , they all work
Where you been
Alot going on . Hopefully I'm back on track now
