- The road to a kingdom starts with a good foundation! Over the course of our first year in Eisenholm we've gotten the necessities in place, and even done some decorative building. With food, a farmhouse, and a temporal storm shelter in place, next year is looking brighter than ever!
This video is a compilation of episodes 1-11 of the Eisenholm series chronicling Year 0. Just the perfect length for an all-day binge, putting on in the background, or even as a sleep aid!

I accidentally fell asleep watching this, and experiencing sleep paralysis during the (very impressive) character impressions was probably one of the weirdest exepriences I've had in my entire life
I've never been a sleep paralysis demon before... I hope that was during a SolSaysWhat segment and not one of the times I was doing a Salad Fingers impression!
I only had sleep paralysis once and it was so weird, my lucid dreams are nothing in comparison to it, luckily before I saw anything my dog woke me up but that weight on my chest and constantly thinking I woke up as the threat gets louder sucked
Only time I had sleep paralysis I imagined myself eating the shadow under my bed and it went away and I didn't care (no emotional reaction). Reflecting on that makes me feel insane.
I had sleep paralysis twice and the second time I got so angry that the "demon" woke me up, and I need to sleep because of work, I just said "fuck you" loudly, turned over and returned back to sleep. No sleep paralysis since. But I have no idea how I managed to get so angry right after waking up.
I had a sleep paralysis experience once, I was like 14 or 15 and no one told me I was supposed to close my eyes.
So I just saw this large dog sized ball creature of fluff and darkness roaming my room, fervently hoping it wouldn't notice me.
The way my jaw dropped when you started chiseling out the kitchen cabinets... Well done sir!!

watching you chisel out that kitchen was a mesmerizing experience and literally made me stop the video to buy the game...i had no idea a game that seemed this intimidating could be so, so much fun and so beautiful.
That's where the real beauty of Vintage Story lies for me. When the hard-earned tools and resources come together into something aesthetically pleasing and you can step back, take it in, and say, "Yeah. I built that."
The early game can be quite difficult and unforgiving, but once you get settled and learn your way, it’s fun to admire the beauty of this game, I’ve had it for about six months, and it’s a very fun experience.
I don't know if you'll see this, or if this will mean anything to you, but this video has really helped me.
I've been through a lot recently. Fled from domestic abuse (parents) to a refuge, got kicked out for something I didn't do and live in an expensive hotel in the middle of nowhere, burning through cash. My girlfriend I made at the refuge suddenly started treating me differently, neglecting me, being cruel. We broke up because of that, and I am so alone and struggling so bad that suic*de seems like the only way out. I have absolutely no-one.
I've been watching this video in parts for about a week and it's something so precious to me. Each night, before bed, I am excited to watch. I love your silly little impressions (good ones!), and your technical skill when it comes to the building and decorating -- it's all very impressive. I would so desperately love to play this game but I had to leave my PC behind. So thank you, for being my calm in such a horrible time in my life.

I’ve been on such a vintage story kick lately after sinking quite a few hours (and days) into my own world. Since I have work today, I’m really excited to watch this and learn a few more tricks and techniques that I can use!
I hope my adventures can pass along a few tips and tricks, or at least serve as inspiration for more builds!
I've never seen this game or your channel, spent 5 minutes trying to find out if this is just HEAVILY modded minecraft 😂 but no! I am very excited to watch a new creator play a new game 😊

I think it was a mix of his approach and pacing, as well as the fact that I knew next to nothing about Minecraft when I started watching him. Here I am, never touched Vintage Story and I’m discovering everything about it with a similar video structure.

In the video that'll be up in a bit, we just finished off August, so it won't be all that long before we come back around to May and see the 2nd year complete!
when i played this game i built a massive vault in the side of a mountain. after completing their current content i filled it with meteorite, gold and silver bars and crafts. took many hours and i ended up making a massive auto-hammer sweat shop to help me out with it. i had a bunch of pinnacle gear just lined up, gave the world a salute and left for the next major update.
so that's two suggestions. a stocked as hell vault and some sort of large industrial complex using a lotta wind power for them wonderful auto-hammers.
i also played with 200% hunger speed like an idiot so I'm dreading ever playing again.
Well my workshop plans involve it being inside the side of a mountain and filled with all that good mechanical wizardry!
Only difference is I'm going to try to hide the windmills and make it look like a giant forge is powering everything!
You honestly did most my favorite lines and voices.
I am also in awe of your kitchen, as well as the rest of your amazing builds.
I am looking forward to the next 200 days, and everything it brings.

The last ones I had, I had barely finished my coop and got them in when lightning struck them XD I honestly didn't know how lightning rods worked, so I'm really glad for the bits of information you share in your videos. Now I know to place the rod a bit higher.
@@laynie9096 I've also been recently informed that the lightning rod can still have a bit of an "explosion" to a range of 8 blocks, so be sure to place it good and high!

@@nauna_218 It's all here on CZcams! There's a few streams so far for build sequences and the Between the Episodes montages, but otherwise they're all the same kind of edited episodes that make up this big video! Episode 12 picks up where this video leaves off. :)
Vintage story is an amazing game. My only issue is boredom in the late game. After I’ve harvested enough flax for all the windmills I want…I don’t know what else to do. Make steel?!? For what purpose. I don’t encounter enemies that tough and I just don’t know what to do after I mastered the Iron Age.
I like to take an approach similar to how I play the other block game. Each tech tree advancement becomes an excuse to make a build dedicated to it. As efficiency increases and resource scarcity becomes a thing of the past, it opens up more opportunities to get creative with building and chiseling without having to stop every 20 minutes to gather more resources, make new tools, hunt, etc.
My love of redstone engineering might also lend to why coming up with designs (to push the boundaries of what I can get away with) is a huge motivating factor for me!
After 7 hours of watching on different days, I can confirm, I have to watch it one more time!

i added a mod to my save that allowed evaporation pools cause it's so hard to find halite LOL

Haha yeah, without mods salt is almost nonexistent until you find a pillar, and then it's nearly infinite.

Spawning in a world with such great mountains and spawning right on top of a meteor and a nice ruin with a torch holder as well as that exposed salt dome in the cliff is incredible luck.
The mountain and having conglomerate rock is all I was looking for when seed hunting, everything else was a nice surprise after I started recording lol
@@SolstinWhat’s the difference between conglomerate rock(s) and the other types? Is there an ore distribution difference, or?
@@nicqolisstanton6784 Other than sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rock types having different ores that can spawn in them, conglomerate isn't particularly special.
It's just the color of stone I want to build the castle out of! :)

Hermitcrafters be like: We are super creative (builds everything from plans others have made in creative mode with some minor self-inspiration)
Meanwhile theres this Vintage Story guy that makes literal furniture out of blocks.
Not an actual JAB at the hermits but, the difference is stark.
Being able to chisel blocks opens up just so many options!
I'd actually be really interested to see what someone like Grian or Bdubs could come up with if they were to try Vintage Story.

A hidden gem
ive played a bit of vintage story, and i really like it but its so in depth that its hard to wrap my head around far better for me to watch than to play
It definitely takes a bit for the various mechanics to feel familiar, and even now I still have to refer to the handbook a good bit at times!
Playing on a server where everyone focuses on one or two things each can help with the learning curve. :)
Never played the game myself but I’m really impressed with how robust the crafting and building is - the detail work you’ve done on your home base is amazing! (Also the salad fingers impression woke me up fast lmao)

When I was first introduced to Vintage Story by a friend, he suggested a few different channels to watch to get familiar with all of the various mechanics. Kurazarrh was one of those channels and I watched every single video 😆
I don't know if I would have gotten back on the content creation saddle if it weren't for being inspired by him, so it really warms my heart to hear how well received this journey has been!

There's a great depth to the mechanics, and everything has been designed to balance realism with player enjoyment. Vintage Story very quickly became my go-to survival game once I found it! XD

The mechanics can take a bit to get a grasp on for sure, since a lot of the crafting happens outside of menus, but I'm glad my explanations help bridge that gap! :)
I'm starting to get the outline of at least part of the castle done while filming the next episode, so it'll start coming along soon!

The gameplay is a good click slower for sure. There's world settings that can speed up tree growth, tool speed, increase tool durability, etc. So there are built-in ways to speed up aspects of the game, but nothing close to enchanted tools with a haste beacon lol

Thank you! I think the Vintage Story content is where I've really been able to just be myself and play a game I love, especially in comparison to a lot of my older videos from about a decade ago.

Salt is great for preserving meat and pickling vegetables, and those reddish ores make for some great fertilizer!
From a strictly aesthetic point of view, though, I could use the salt to add some pastel pink tones to statues or pixel art paintings on walls lol

As far as going more in-depth with explaining how things work, I try to at times but don't always remember to. The Temporal Institute videos are more of a game mechanic guide, though who knows when I'll find time to finish episode 3... :(
For an informative and very entertaining set of videos, I highly recommend the Vintage Story Guide Season 2 from Kurazarrh! That's where I learned when I first got the game. :)

it'd be nice if vintage story allowed you to chisel your own storage blocks.
With the chiseltools mod you can make a decorative chest that will take on the appearance of any chiseled block you click on it with, so technically you can now! :o

Hello! This is the first video of yours that I've watched, but in my humble opinion I think you should make the boiler into a solid dark stone monolith, and then chisel some nonsense characters in yellow or purple stone on each side to look like it's ancient and magical!
Also side note, your kitchen looks very nice and I was really impressed with both your cabinets and the oven :)
If I could send an image as a reply then I could show you how spot on you are to how the boiler room is going to look!
