the Villager just wont wake up for the entire day,
cause he's sick, which is shown by snot-green particle

Just what I was thinking: 'This is what a game named Minecity could be like!'
Add more emote particles to villagers. (sad, happy, sleeping, out of resources/tools) Also add a bulletin board that displays the village current status (Pop: 13, Merchant in town, lumberjack lacking tools, 2 villagers need beds, ect) because having the villagers give clear feedback is much better than them afking until you figure out what they want. Amazing job!

I think this could actually be a game by itself! A game where you have to make the best decisions, you have to upgrade the village, etc. I would definitely play! Some things to do before you turn it into a game:
- You would probably have to change the textures a bit more so it doesn't look like Minecraft
- Add consequences if you're a bad mayor
- Add builders to help with the buildings
- Add an economy instead of the completely free Community Station
- Add different foods, some easier to get than others
- Give villagers more emotion, such as sadness (Ex. If another villager dies), and anger ( Ex. If someone steals from them)
- Add robbers and thieves
- Add prisons
- Add banks
- Make it a multiplayer game, kind of like Second Life, where villages and mayors, can interact with other villages and mayors. (Ex. Co-Mayors, Wars)
- Make the animations a bit better, some of the frames are missing from the current animations
- Along with money for the villagers, give the mayor money to upgrade the villages!
That's all I can think of right now, I'll add more to the list if I think of something new.

The comment was meant to be read as, "Hey this is really cool, it's like another game in Minecraft, it even could be its own game!" Not as, "MAKE THIS A GAME NOW." The recommendations they gave were just meant as some ways to improve and possibly make it more of its own thing rather than being a minecraft mod. I personally feel like it should stay as a mod, just because many games already exist that are very similar. But the points brought up in the comment were still good points, adding consequences for being a bad mayor being a great idea.
tl;dr the comment was meant to be more just giving ideas rather then forcing tango to make a game.

Ngl,it'd be pretty cool if there is a banker who,if you give enough of certain items,can turn them into villager items but then go on a cooldown. That way you can still help out your village alot more while avoiding the "infinite riches" issue.

Looking at the comments, I have gathered all (well, most of)suggestions (sorry I did not credit anyone):
All of the following are ideas, only ideas. I did not sort them, they are just ideas (and some I admit are not that good)
Professions ideas:
• Someone who takes care of horse and donkeys (maybe also llamas)
• Hunter (they could use wolf to hunt)
• Fisherman or alternatively a diver (someone who catches fish with a harpoon and dives in rivers or oceans)
• A tailor who creates clothes and dresses villagers
• A doctor who heals villagers and guards
• Robbers (children who do not go to school may become robbers and steal during night and have a negative impact on the village), maybe they could be put in a prison building (if that's the case, then, killing them should be avoided and have a negative impact on the inhabitants' happiness)
• Adventurers (villagers that could go far away in the wild for multiple days and come back with exotic plants: melons, cocoa beans or rare loots, maybe they could tell a player if they find other villages)
• An alchemist who gives potions to help guards or make villagers work more quickly. This alchemist could instead be a witch (maybe the player would need to find a witch in a swamp and propose her to work for that player's village)
• An inventor who is in charge of discovering new upgrades for the village and the villagers
• Someone suggested a werewolf villager who kills other villagers at night (a cluedo mistery a player needs to solve!)
• A summoner (a mage who fights by summoning mobs)
• Textile/Leather worker
• Executioner
Buildings:
• Defense buildings (tower) for Archers
• A play room (for children and adults!)
• A casino which increases villager happiness and cost them emeralds (maybe the player could decide the price, or rig the games, but it would increase a lot less villager's happiness)
• A graveyard
• A bank
• A factory
• A barn
• Barracks: a building where guards train and sleep
Other ideas:
• Villagers should emit emote particles to know what they are up to, and how they doing in terms of mental health
• Some zombies are not very dangerous for a village, maybe a wave of hostile mobs could attack every so often when a village is big enough, and may kill some villagers, animals or destroy crops (similar to what the Village&Pillage Update seems to seek to do with the Illagers and the Illager beast)
• Either a specific profession or an ability shared by all villagers: villagers could be able to trade with Merchants and get the resources they need and sell the ones they have too much of (they could sell items if they were left in the community storage for too long). Maybe expanding on this idea, in multiplayer or not, villagers could trade with merchants coming from other villages.
• Maybe some villages could be independent and concurrence the village the player has the control of (maybe a war could be started, or maybe someone could be recruited to steal stuff from them).
• Villages with unique culture (maybe biome dependent or not)
• Maybe, merchant will come with a caravan and a lot more resources if your village is big enough
• The capacity of a school is determined by the number of chairs (wooden stairs) in the rooms. Different rooms could correspond to different professions taught.
• A builder who follows blueprints (bought from the architect), can also repair creeper explosions
• Unhappy villagers will transform into illager and will be put in jails by guards (once, they have spent enough time in jail, they go see the mage in order to be transformed back into a working villagers). Illagers could naturally spawn and attack villages, those kind of illagers would simply be killed by guards instead of being put in jail.
• Baby villagers could become teenager as a transitional state between baby and adult. Teenagers would learn the job of another villager (they would work with that villager and help it) but they would not work full time until they become adults.
• Architects can hold a ceremony in front of all villagers in the middle of the town to create an iron golem (if miners and farmers have gathered the required materials) where guards place the iron blocks, and the farmer/architect place the pumpkin. Roses will be given to children by the freshly made golem.
• Villagers work slower as they get older and becomeless happy. They eventually die.
Small details that count:
• If near a guard's bed, there is an armorstand, before going to sleep, a guard would dispose of its armor on the armorstand in order to sleep more comfortably
• Villagers could rebel and attack the player if s/he kills other villagers or steal to much resources (especially food)
• A baby villager could see one other villager (a parent or not) as an idol and will learn that villager's profession (assuming there are enough room from one more villager of that profession), but it that idol dies, the baby villager will become instead a guard.
• Farms could be able to till soil
• Villagers need random generated names
• Baby villagers have connected arms just like vanilla villagers indicating they cannot work yet
Concerns:
• Gathering ore with silk touch and putting them in front of a miner is a potential exploit to convert emeralds
• Restrictions on villager items seem unfair for some people. If something bad happens to a villager, some people are concerned if they will be able to repair what they lost if they cannot themselve give some help to the villagers
• What happens to a villager if it is converted to a zombie villager?
• Some people are concerned about Iron Golems. Will they get a overhaul? Will they work along with guards?
• How do you start a village? From nothing or from a naturally generated primitive village? (or maybe, cavemen villagers spawn naturally, and you are able to educate as your first villagers and make them permenant villagers who would be the start of a village)
• Villagers need some base tools to work but they must be made out of villagers items. And if the merchant only accepts villager emerald, how do you get these base tools and start your village?
• After a long time, mines will get huge, and miners will need to travel a lot in order to mine (they could not even have enough time to go deep in the mine before the sun sets, and thus the mine will become useless), thus a resettlement would be a better idea. Is there a solution to this problem (maybe a minecart track could help if a village can afford it)?
• Can a merchant be trapped preventing it from leaving at dusk?
• Can guards wake up if a villager is attacked during the day?
• Villagers are a little bit too masculine
• Butchers are missing their unibrow
• Many people do not like the villager items feature (it feels like "a game within a game"). Maybe, it could be allowed or not in the config file of the mod. Or maybe a way to convert items into villager ones (but there would be a cooldown).
• That complex economic system feels like too much for some people

When the guards go to sleep. They should put their armor on an Armor stand
or just return it to the community stores at the end of a shift, if you have a village with only one set of diamond armour you want that on a guard who's working at all times, also returning it to the stores means that the armor can be repaired or enchanted
JohnyDL, I would expect for the sake of simplicity there will be no shifts in the sense of one guard taking over from another guard. Instead all guards will work at the same time for the full length of the night. Thus the effective diamond armour will be in action at all times without swapping it from one guard to the next. --- Repairing armour is interesting. Perhaps the guard should, when necessary, bring the armour directly to a professional who will repair it.
@@bernieanders2868 given that different villagers will sleep at different times I'd think that some would start their 'shift' at noon and others might end their 'shift' at noon when it's safest to not have any guards, and the shifts wouldn't be rotored like Bob takes over from Dave etc but rather that guards work for about 1/3 of the day cycle just like any other job and the random staggering of their work/play/rest cycle results in shift like patterns most of the 'shifts' covering some of the night time it. It seems grossly unfair to allow a farmer to start after dawn and work until before dusk while asking a guard to start before dusk and work the whole night until sometime after dawn, it would seriously suck their happiness

I finally got Java and this is one of the first mods I’m downloading amazing job tango you out did your self
When a child is born, it's arms will be connected, just like the vanilla ones. The connected arms will prevent them from working, so only the grown up villagers could work.
Every few nights a ceremony is held at the church, where all of the villagers get together. All of the children will get on a stage and stand in line. Then the priests will come forth, hold the children's hands and separate them. The priests will then give each one of them colored clothes. Each color represents a profession. The children dress up, and at that point they turn into working adults.
that sounds awesome, but then what is the teacher for?
I'm hoping there is more management in terms of professions, where we get to choose what the new villagers become. Of course this still could take place, like you giving the priest the coloured wool for the professions and then that's how it's given out.
It's a bit weird, but it works.
I think when their hands are separated, they will become teenagers, not very skilled, experimenting on what they should become

This is so crazy detailed. it could easily legitimately be its own separate game... I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thank you for taking the time to build it in minecraft and share it with us, despite the microtransactions you could have been raking in right now instead XD

Theres a mod like this called Millénaire, older, more detailed and its still updated ( you can download it for most MC versions, including 1.12.2)

It would be a really amazing thing to have added to the game though. You feel kind of empty and bored once you've done most of the things you can do in minecraft. You've killed the dragon, wither boss/es, gone to the nether and raided a bunch of castles, etc etc but it gets a little boring.
Little things like governing a town can help the game become a bit more fun. You won't be completely bored because you need to look after your town. From happiness levels to protection levels. You'd need to learn how to protect your town from all kinds of mobs and, of course, make sure they have what they need and want to be happy.

So, Tango, an idea that you could try is: have the merchant start out by himself for the first bit, and then he upgrades to a donkey after a couple trips/your village improves. Then after a few more trips and improvements, he gets a llama, then another and so forth. And maybe he has more purchasing power and buys higher tier items? Aka. The merchant levels up as well :)

I love some of these new additions... Others, I'm less thrilled about. Perhaps an configuration option could be added to remove the limit on player 'donations' to the village? Also, what about Iron Golems? (Or other types of Golems for that matter?) Perhaps if the village has enough resources, a Blacksmith could build a Golem, and a Priest bring it to life?
Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the harshness of "Villager Items" and "Villager Animals". If I bring a cow to the village I don't want the villagers to just ignore it.

Ok I know this might be hard to do but when the guards go to bed (only if they have armour) they could place that armour on a armour stand next to the bed. That would be very cool and realistic.
This would need a special item frame for all if the Armor Stands. That would look awful, but it might be nice to see an armory that they use.
@@MimOzanTamamogullar or the blacksmith makes the armor stands, in this way it becomes a villager item and the gaurds would be able to see them instead of each stand needing a item frame.

@@ieatkids5278 you would have to build the houses first so you copy your style then put it into code for the villager to copy and after your done with days of code you would need to test to work out most of the kinks then once your done you would have to give them the blocks blah blah blah it would take a while

When one person can code a better villager system than a team of trained professionals.
It been true since the start of moding add-on and othera. Or maybe the gaming industry planned this all along and use the mods and addons to their advantge
@-_*SlickySlickDo* _- I know a few coding languages, but Java isn't one of them. I used to use codecademy, but they didn't have C#, so i ended up using CZcams videos to learn.
If I had a game and saw this I'd try to hire them.
@-_*SlickySlickDo* _- I would first get a basic understanding of the ground rules of whatever language you're going for, then look up specific tutorials for what you're looking to code as you go. I would start on codecademy, then move to youtube as things that you still don't know come up.
Im sure they can do the same thing that this guy did, but these villagers are too complex for Minecraft and they probably don't have enough time to make this kind of stuff.

I remember a long time ago when I was, somewhere before 10 (I’m 14 now), I wanted to do something like this, I had loads of ideas but couldn’t do anything, why? My mod making skills were non-existent! 😆😆😆😆😆

Yeah! The game will get the 1.14 update soon, including the village improvements, and the Pillagers, but it will never be as good as your mod. Good job Tango!
What about iron golems? Since they were originally put in Minecraft to protect Villagers (albeit with varying degrees of effectiveness), wouldn't this mod render them obsolete with the addition of the Guards? Perhaps there can be an Inventor class that makes them for labor uses?
The iron golems would still help. I think the golems will be more powerful then the guards. He needed to add the guards so that the village is protected when the golems don't spawn. A village with an army of guards and iron golems would be pretty hard to defeat.
What if you have someone like a mad scientist make them once you reach a certain level in your village
Golems might still be useful against bigger enemies, like the pillager bull thing, or something similar in this mod
Maybe the village can have a wall for defense and iron golem stay there and be the first layer of defense

I have noticed that you haven't got a use for horses/donkeys....
Can u implement them somehow? Such as the donkeys been used in the mines to carry more maybe with lumber jacks as well.
The Horses could be used for the merchant to pull a wagon or cart? the guards could also use them to become knights.
Just some thoughts off top of my head.
the miners could take some bitds along with them in the shafts, if u dont know the reason, u can google this stuff, the birds kinda sense air changes or what, it could be a good morale booster as MC doesnt have air pressure changes or whatever that thing was
Yeah, this would be great, especially if he adds chunk loading, it could be used with "adventurers" who go out and gather berry bushes, collect animals etc. (this thought process comes from timber and stone / stonehearth)

I was talking about this the other day- had been thinking it'd be a feature I'd be interested in for a while now.
It'd really inject some 'life' into the game- with a changing landscape and flourishing flora that expands over time and reflects the current season, crops would have varying outputs depending on season, snow and freezing water in midwinter, texture changes to represent seasonal change like autumn leaves and animal breeding season in spring!

Are you planning on adding any type of interactions with the villagers and the player? It would be cool if the villagers had "wants", or quests. For example, the rancher might have a want for a new animal pen. Or maybe a villager could want some new tools if the other villagers can't supply it for them. In return, they might offer a reward or something. IDK, just an idea
Good concept but it makes minecraft feel more like an rpg or adventure map. Definitely have the option for map makers but not as an in-game feature.

I love this mod so far! I think a great addition to it would be to give the rancher a horse pen, so the guards can ride the horses into battle faster than they would be walking.

I haven't watched all episodes yet but heres an idea. Have the player hire the guards and they follow the player around. Like you give them some emeralds and like wolf they follow you. But if it too overpowered then like have a limit of how many can follow.

@@rovstam7989 Minecraft is a sandbox game. This would make villages the main focus in the game. No sane person would think that this could actually fit into Minecraft. It's the reason why mojang doesn't go adding the features of mods in their updates.

I love this, you are practically creating a new game, just using the Minecraft theme, like Pixelmon, so I am excited, this will be so fun when it's done. I personally love RPG types of games and tv shows, so the whole village building, level ups, skills, and classes are gonna make this awesome. Maybe you should add these things for the player, like classes, skills, and quests from the villagers to complete to level up? This could be the next big Minecraft mod that could top Pixelmon, Trolcraft, and all the others.

let alone a Nether-Version OR EVEN A NON-ENGLISH VERSION,
which really sucks.
