Little girls can wear animals on their clothing. Girl clothing doesn't have to be fussy and frilly. Some boy clothes are fine for girls. Classic styles are always appropriate. Wearing leggings and tights under little dresses is a must! You will be an awesome girl mom! â€
Thank you! Great advice
I had twin girls and I actually loved the girl blue jeans. I didn't put dresses on them except on a holiday. And they wore sweat pants and Hoodies. Now a days I have been seeing a lot of Grey's and denim blue on girls.
Your choices are OK. You do you, Boo. She will let you know her style as she grows.
You have raised a gorgeous little boy who is not only rough and tumble but kind and gentle. I see no reason you wonât do the same with this little girl. Who knows? Maybe sheâll even âtear up the kitchen!â- and if she does it wonât matter what clothes sheâs wearing. Love Xanderâs take on little boys !!!
Having had two girls... at first you dress them in your style...wait until they decide themselves! I had one that loved pink and purple and the other loved orange! Two totally different personalities. Congratulations! You will be a great girl mumma! My first baby was a boy so I think the girls wore his stuff as well. In the long run it won't matter what you put on them. đ
Gosh, Zander is so intelligent. You guys are great parents. Much love to you and the new baby girl soon. Your going to be fine. Blessings đđ
Thank you!
I had a girl (many moons ago - lol) and as I watched you hold up clothes and say "boy" I thought, I would so put that on a little girl. Girls are great in greens, dark blues - even browns. One of my favourite dresses for my daughter when she was about 3, was brown with little tiny flowers on it. Everyone commented on it. So don't overthink whether you think it should be for a boy or girl - just put on this sweet little baby anything that makes you happy. Just buy little socks with frills and that's enough. Nothing wrong with overalls and t-shirts on a little girl. Very happy for you - so just enjoy.
Awww I loved all the cloths and things you brought Janine , Iâm an Aunty to one niece and four nephews , so I totally understand the boy thing , Zander is going to be an awesome big brother , loved this video thanks for sharing đ from youâre follower here in England
I totally had boy colour everything for my girl. Loved Baby has really great outfits! Very neutral and earthy tones.
I LOVE THE FLOWERS AND HEAD BANDS, YOUR GET THERE IT IS NICE SEEING YOUR SISTER IN LAW WITH YOU. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
The things you picked out are cute!! I have found putting outfits together a little overwhelming at times too but I try to keep it simple. Neutral leggings and the top can be colorful đ
Loved this video! You were so cute when you were shopping and talking about what you like and don't like! If you ask me, there's nothing cuter than a little girl in overalls. I can see her now, following Xander around. What a blessed little girl she will be with him for her big brother and you and Nolan for her parents!! Relax and enjoy! This is such a special time of life!!
I live everything you bought! Especially the bright colorful cheerful items! Good job đđ» â€ïž
Jeanine. I am so excited for your family to welcome this precious little being. Iâm thinking it will be much easier for you to shop for her once she has arrived. You will be able to see her and what you think will look so cute on her. When we havenât met them yet itâs so hard to imagine what they will look like. You and Nolan are such good parents. Xander and baby girl are very lucky to have you as parents. Much love and God Bless you. Carolyn from Ontario Canada đšđŠ
Your baby girl will love the activities you all do and love!!
Love Love Love your ramblings! You made me smile. I'm so looking forward to see you as a Girl Mommy. You're gonna rock the pink world đ
Everything will fall into place at just the right time.
God bless this baby, may she be healthy and happy in all her beautiful outfitsđđŁ
I love muted colors, florals, and neutrals for my daughter. I didnât put dresses on her until after she started walking because I didnât find them practical before then! Love all of your choices â€ïž
The way that you talk about motherhood is truly beautiful, both of your littles are so blessed. đ
I have 5 girls (youngest is 3 mths) and 1 son. I love earthy colours. I enjoy my baby being in simple dresses and cardigans once winter is over.
I find shopping for girls is fun!
You hit the nail on the head when you said keep a balance ! I love all the clothes that you chose, pretty & practical (though I am a boy Mum !!) Don't over think things, a baby only needs love & care, not fancy/fashion clothes :) x
I am just like you! Tomboy with two brothers for my childhood. Had a boy first, and when I found I was going to have a girl I freaked out a little bit. I donât like cutesy things, have more of a classic taste and a love for toned down colors and cozy textures. I wondered how I would ever be a Mom of a girl, and the thought would overwhelm me. BUT, she has taught me every step of the way. She is 5 now, and unicorns, rainbows, and glitter have become a love of mine because what I really love is seeing her little face light up when she sees the things that she finds beautiful. We love our children, and that makes room for our tastes to remain the same, but for our appreciation to broaden. Praying continually for you, and I am just SOOO excited to see all the color and joy this little girl is going to bring to your home. â€ïž
All children need and want love and we all can see that Xander is full of love. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I think when you look in her eyes for the first time you will know that you will learn together and everything will be just fine. God has put you right where you are meant to be â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
Just enjoy this dear time in your lifeâŠ
your little girl will look wonderful in anything you put her in!
I love your choices!! đ„° I love shopping girl clothes!! đ Im not much for frills on my girl, but I love cheery clothes!! And I was so excited about having a girl with hair to comb!! đđ You're going to do great!!
I loved all your selections! Very cute!!
Youâre going to be a wonderful girl mom!! Once she arrives everything will fall into place!
As a Mom of two boys then two girls, I understand the mind switch that you go through. I always bought what was affordable, comfortable and practical with each child. My girls were not tomboys but they didn't like real lacey, frilly (itchy) clothes. As adults, my daughters still want to be comfortable and modestly dressed. You've got this!
Hi Janine,Itâs Rosie from Scotia, your update blew me away as a Mennonite Mom! Am a singular batchelorette lady with no kids and a believer.Have pursued my goals/dreams am happy..Love your choices, they are so feminine and cool, also love your individuality, and your outlook for a daughter.Happy in her own skin,Independant, strong ,boss lady, and she has a great role model. You are FAB,and strong woman, never question your choices.Love how you are doing your own thing, you are a Lady of Force,I admire you for being different ,at the same time standing by your beliefs Xđčđčđčđźđźđźđ€©đ€©đ€©đ„°đ„°
Lol youâre funny! Put whatever you want on her - sheâs your baby! When sheâs old enough she will decide what she likes. My granddaughter is one TOUGH dirt bike kid but sheâs also in dance - tutu and all. You do your thing and donât worry about what others like or donât like.
Oh Jeannine! I love, love, love the dresses and onesies you chose! Totally my style and color choices as well! I've had 4 daughters and 2 sons, and have the same clothing styles as you do. I don't like all the frills and tulle skirts, but love cute summery flower dresses and onesies. Don't be too worried about how you will do with your little girl, once you have her it will all fall into place and you will be the best mom to both Xander and your little girl. And who knows, you probably will start loving to buy all the girlie clothes better than boy stuffđ
You crack me up. The girl clothes you picked are so cute! I love the bright colors too.
After being raised with five brothers and no sisters, I was shocked and elated when I had two daughters! I chose to be practical and buy sleepers and onesies with blue jeans! My mil bought all the froufrou dresses my girls would ever need! Mind you, my girls always looked like girls and grew up feminine but could mow a lawn with the best of boys! Lol
Oh my goodness!!! Zander is so Cute!!! Smart to use the phrase "soon going to be." He cracked me up when he said 'I'm so spoiled!" He just knows he's a lucky kid to have a LeapFrog pad. What a sweetheart. Don't stress over the shopping and have fun with it.
I think you did a great job, I love all the things you bought . You just get what you like for now. I fully agree with you on the frilly lace, it does look inexpensive, I'm glad my granddaughter who is almost 3 doesn't like wearing that stuff either. You are a great boy mom and you will be a super girl mom, you'll see. As usual Zander doesn't disappoint he's precious!! God bless you all.
Lolol! I loved this shopping trip! Got such a kick out of you looking for baby girl clothes! You are doing great!!
Completely understand what you're saying. I love the "classic" look much more than the "trendy" look. I love the headbands, most definitely. I think they complete any outfit.
Heâs just so excited. Heâs going to be such a good big brother!
When she arrives you will forget the anxiety you were just having. Lol! Love will take over. You're adorable. God bless!
Everything you bought is so pretty but my favorite one is the little red flower oneđ
My boys and girl are grown. I was athletic growing up, but also enjoyed playing with my dolls. So when I got my girl after 2 wonderful boys, I was thrilled. What I remember struggling most with was the girl fashions were "grown up trendy" styles and not "little girl" looking. Thrift stores were my best bet and I sewed some of her clothes too. You'll be a great mom for her as you are Xander.
You will get the hang of it. I know when I was pregnant. I struggled with the same thing. Then when the baby is born it comes naturally. Just like you fell in love with boy clothes. You will fall in love with girl clothes. Each child has there own style and you will find your own style for your baby girl. I can wait to meet her. May God bless yâall on this beautiful Journey. Love you guys!!â€ïžâ€ïž
I live in lancaster County, and loved finding things at Fashion Cents! I had 2 boys back to back and then had a little girl and struggled to enjoy shopping for a little girl! She's 3 now and shopping for her has become alot more fun! Give yourself time. It gets easier and more fun once you meet her!!
Love your choices especially the red dress and all the onesie. You will be fine you are already a great Mom ,be calm đ„°đđđđ
Itâs okay to have times of rambling! đ and itâs totally normal to go through some of the emotions you are dealing with!! And your taste of girls clothes are beautiful! đ YOU GOT THIS!!
I have 2 girls and a boy. When they were little , I liked neutral colors that were darker to help with stains. I mean, let's get real, babies eat, poop, sleep. I really liked the sleeper gowns too, for late night changes.
I was the same way when I got to start shopping for a girl after 3 boys. I was so excited but the first time I walked down the girl aisle at once upon a child I just felt so lost and didn't buy much because I couldn't decide what style I wanted. I love having a girl tho.đ You will love having a little girl!
I haven't seen your vlogs for a while. What a wonderful news. I whish you all the happiness in the world. Havin one of each is so nice!!
So excited and happy for you! Congratulations đđđŸđ
As a mom of 5 boys and 1 girl (she was the 3rd born) I can say from my experience that I dreaded shopping for boy clothes (I especially donât like the trendy /fad designs ) and admit that I went crazy buying for my girl. I didnât do cheap , frilly clothes but did shop the boutique style clothing more than I did for the boys.
Now with 15 grandkids , so far lol ( 5 grandsons and 10 granddaughters) I still enjoy shopping more for the girls than the boys , however, finding it more difficult to find non trendy quality pieces. I also like them to dress as kiddos (boys and girls (children) and not so much with the child adult version that seems to be so popular. My daughter (sheâs 30 now ) has a 3 yo and twin 8 month old girls and she dresses them more like a mini version of herself rather than little girls. I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying something to offend her or her girlfriends who also dress their girls like mini versions of themselves
I had a boy first too, and mixed in a lot of his hand me downs into my daughter's wardrobe. A pink onesie with denim bottoms, blue overalls with a hair bow. Boys clothes do seem to be more sturdy.
Goid start. Enjoy the season. â€đ
Just enjoy, you are so blessed, and are a blessing.
My boys had the same shoe problem! I went with wide withs and that helped tons
For me, especially with an infant, I find that the material the clothes are made of are so important. Cotton is breathable and comfy, and since an infant can't say "it's itchy," or "that belt is too tight," I steer away from tulle and adult accessories, including headbands. When she is a bit older, she will tell you what she likes (and you may be surprised).
Definitely makes sense. You will be fine just do your own thing. Cute clothes đ đ.
Janine, I love all of your clothing choices for your little girl. I have 4 sons and 2 daughters which I really enjoyed shopping for each of them, I found at the time there seemed to be more cute girls clothes than boys. I am looking forward to seeing your little girl arrive into your wonderful family. God Bless.
Wonderful!! Be yourself. It comes naturally.
All of your rambling made perfect sense.Good luck.
I dressed my poor bald daughter in her brothers hand me downs and it actually made sense b/c when she played she got (like ALL children do) messy. I would suggest, in new born, onesies, leggings, sun dresses with matching pants and sleepersâŠ. They really donât need a lot other than for diaper blow outs and dribbles/drools. I donât make outfits either so I often bought âoutfitsâ at Walmart.
I just love Xander. âIâm so spoiled!â Lol! Heâs a dear!
There are some great neutral looking baby girl clothes out there. You donât have to get frilly stuff. đ„° If you poke around online you might find some things you like. I am like you and am not necessarily into all the poufy stuff. I like all the things you chose for baby girl.
Everything you picked out is super cute!!!! Also I learned to not buy a bunch of newborn stuff. I always bought 0-3 months.
Haha!đ I can totally relate! We are expecting for April and didn't find out what we are having yet but the boy section attracts me maybe since I have a boy already!
You did a good job picking outfits.
I relate to this so much! I had 3 boys before I had a girl and felt exactly the same way! My daughter is 1 now though and it is getting easier.
for our little ones we always did either onesies with stretchy pants or sleepers with zippers. Girl or boy. They really didn't have a lot of OUTFIT type clothes until like 18 months or so.
This is so wonderful. Xander and a sister. How God blesses. I'm excited for all of you NJfamily! Janine. Turn anxious to excitement. You're a great mom. I know you'll have a special adventure and exploring journey with your daughter. God bless you girl!
Hi Janine
I think you and Rose did a great job finding clothes for your baby girl. I loved the little outfits you had and the hair bows are adorable. Take care, relax and enjoy shopping . God Bless little Family.đ” x
P.s. Rose is lovely.
I have been an Aunt and Great-Aunt to a huge circle of family and friends. Babies and sleepers and onesies and denim are my go to. Kohls is a good resource for sales. I have purchased so many pairs of girl tights over the years. My floofy dress shopping was limited to Christmas and/or Easter and even then, I did not go overboard with the tulle. Purchase some heavy linen and run up a few simple overalls dresses. They look fine wrinkled and you can add length as they grow. I used to sew cotton sun suits and would make them reversible so the Moms could get double duty out of them.
As a mom of 3 grown daughters and a self proclaimed tomboy you we be fine. I grew up in Lancaster county in Pa. I never liked sports like you but trucks were my thing when I was little. I did find sewing / crafts as a teen but still loved my trucks and John deerâs . I even drove school bus and eventually got my CDL and drove a box truck. God knows what heâs doing you will be a great âgirlâ mom. Iâm now enjoying my year old granddaughter who is ruff and tumble most of the time . My daughter would like her to be a little frilly with head bands âŠ.. but Calliope says no way. đ
I had a girl first, and got used to shopping for a girl, and loved it! Now we have a little boy and I do enjoy shopping for him, but I find itâs not as easy, especially pants⊠but as he gets a little older and Iâm more used to it I donât know if itâll really matter!!
And I love your colour choices!! I canât live with just neutrals, etcâŠ. I love cheery summer and spring colours so much. Those colours make me happy đ
Sounds like your having fun! What you picked out is very nice. . Cow girl type stuff is popular here .
The clothes you got are so cute! I have two girls. Something I found was that there are a lot of different pink colours that don't always match... So it helps to make matching sets. For example a dress and a legging. I got a lot of baby clothes from family, didn' t buy that much. I am more minimal with my second because with two children I do laundry more often so clothes will be back in the drawer quickly. They don't need a huge amount of clothes.
I am like you. I struggle with the little girl clothes. I donât have children but I have an unofficial adopted daughter. She just had a baby boy December 30. He is so easy to buy for. I am thankful we have a boy.
I loved this shopping excursion with you. I think once you meet your daughter buying clothing for her will be easier.
Praying for you sweet girl! You are looking radiant. Much love to you and your precious family!!
I understand what you're saying. The more earthy neutral colors and earthy textures feel higher quality than the primary or vivid colored things and shiny textures
I think you did great with what you decided on! Theyâre all adorable. Itâs a whole different ball game having a girl but youâll do just fine.
My first is a boy and my second is a girl and I was sooo bummed that the options for the boys were so minimal. Now that I have my girl I am in love with all the pinks, bows, shoes etc. Beyond excited for yâall.
I really agree with the girl styles now. I have kept many of my girls outfits my youngest daughter is 21 years old and I still have a tub full of her clothes. I personally love the simple ageless clothes. The colors that have been the historical colors for girls for years. Light pinks and yellows and white.
One of my favourite thing about little girls is sewing, I find more of the sewing patterns I like than styles off of the rack. With sewing you can give yourself a wider seam, so the dresses can grow with the child. You can also put in gathers in the skirt (from bottom to top), for when she crawls. Homemade clothes seem to stand up better for climbing trees and playing ball with the boys too.
Little smocked dresses. Bloomers. And all the hair bows. My grand daughter had that little red dress you bought.
Little ones clothing has gotten so much better from when my children were born (35 years ago)! Our son was born first and when I went into a store I would find one or two racks out by the loading dock for boys and racks as far as the eye could see for little girls! Iâm so glad things have changed!
All you need are onesies and sleepers.
Those gowns with the elastic bands around the bottom are wonderful. Even as she grows...leggings and tops. Keep it simple!
New subscriber. So glad I found your channel. I don't think it was accidental! I'm truly very thankful for your videos đ
So cute!!!!! Look what you found!
you are so beautiful . đ© i canât wait to see your new baby omg . i know sheâs gonna be very beautiful omg . & you dress very beautiful . you already have a beautiful son . i know godâs gonna make a beautiful way for you . sheâs gonna be blessing .
You did a great job picking, she is going to so cute in her outfits. You were shopping right near me... You are going to be a great girl mom.
I think the little neutral colored smocked dresses are beautiful .
Blessings Sisters Congratulations on Your Choice ,You and your Family are just Adorable đđđ
You are doing great. I can relate as being a boy mom and grandmother. When we did have a granddaughter I still struggle with outfits for her. I am thankful she is a very modest teenager (somewhat a tomboy) who doesn't like flowery outfits. So much easier to dress and coordinate boy clothing. And yes little girl clothing today is not what I grew up with 60 plus years. đ Not as stylish, modest, it's like they are outfits for older girl styles and not for baby girls. Classic outfits. So I am rambling.
Just enjoy yourself through this season in life. May God bless you and yours, as well as guide you.
I know exactly how u feel , it was easy to shop for my son ,but now I have a daughter and I still find it a struggle to shop for her!! And she is 11mo old!! đ Have fun dressing her!!â€â€
Enjoyed your video! I have three girls, teenagers now. I found that I loved the boy clothes even if I didnât have any boy to put them on! However, girls can be fun, none of mine gravitated towards babies and tea parties. They spent their days with trucks and cars and car mats to drive on. Legoâs, scooters, ripstix. I wondered what I did wrong cause when I was young I spent hrs with my doll. But I learned to embrace their joys. They love animals, 4 wheelers, golf cart, volleyball, and snowboarding. You might find that your girl wonât be the frilly type . And once you start putting clothes on her youâll learn your style real quick. Good luck with those head bands! đ Theyâre darling but theyâre challenging to keep on! For sure when the babe loves to move around. I have no doubt youâll make a great girl mom!! Love your channel!
My 5 children were born in the 1980's. August for girls and Feb. for boys. I kept my in the Pajamas when they were little,
unless we went some where. My kids loved sesame , so I would get those. Target had granimials, those were cute each piece had a animal tag that would match another animal as a set. The girls being born end of Aug. it would be getting cold. Lots of blankies. I knit and crochet so I made lots of stuff also. Best of luck, your a great Mom! đ
I'm really happy Zander got his baby sisterâ„ïžyou will do just fine with a little girl đl think you are a great mom to Zander all the patience in the world praying for your family đ
Lol,this was so interesting! I'm like you in some ways,my girls have to tell me what looks good together, clothes wise! But,be yourself, its a free world! đ Joanna
I so agree, often infant/toddler girl clothes can look tacky, cheap and just a bit over the top for MY personal taste. To each their own.đ Congrats!! đ
I was never a dress kinda girl or mom lol but I definitely loved the dress onesies and the soft leggings with the ruffles I just never liked picking up my baby and the dresses climb up so the ones that looked like a dress but snapped in the bottom my favorite anything soft was my go to lol so your not alone your doing great!!!!!!!!!
Hi! I have a handful of outfits for my daughter, that you picked out. I don't care for tool, either. I really struggled with all the pink, because I am such a purple girl, but I worked through it... some.
I had my first child, a little girl. I'm here for the pink and the pretty. The onesie and pants and bow set you held up at Target is a set I got for my shower and love and wear regularly.
I kept watching and saw you bought them!
I had 2 boys and then a girl. I understand how you feel. It all comes together though I loved fixing her hair and choosing cute outfits in no time.
I didnât like fussy clothing for my girls either. Now Iâm a grandmother to a 9 year old and a 6 year old. If I buy for the 9 year old, I go to the boysâ section usually and find things she loves to wear. If Iâm shopping for the 6 year old, itâs the pinkest and frilliest things she loves. You are both wonderful parents and your daughter will most importantly be wrapped in love!!
Oh my goodness. Poor mama, you'll figure it all out. I haven't smiled this much in a long time. Good Luck and God Bless.
It will get easier once baby arrivesđ my personal preference is buying neutral leggings & sweaters and pairing them with pretty florals/stripes tops and dresses. I like your style its very neat and classy. Can't wait to meet your baby girl.
You will be a wonderful Mommy. I loved whatever looked good on my daughter. I was so disappointed when she didn't look good in some of the clothes that I had loved. It all works out. My daughter liked frilly things but also loved playing in dirt and rough housing with her brother. We made sure that both of our kiddos could cook, clean, mow, garden, change tires and change their oil. She could do all of it in pants or a dress.
