Harvesting Hazel Nuts

Today on the smallholding I am harvesting hazel nuts before the squirrels take them all.

you know what I would do with the gray squirrels bush meet They are not native to the UK anyway

I’ve done a fair bit of squirrel control over the years but must admit I’ve never cooked them, I eat rabbits fairly regularly as I get lots at the holding and I try to keep the numbers down a bit as they eat my young trees

Have you ever eaten Squirrel, I haven’t yet but heard that they’re tasty.

Why dont you plant a few chestnuts which are good for long lasting posts, and they taste good, thy will be dropping in the next week or two.

I’ve planted a few over the years but they all die for some reason they don’t seem to like my ground
