How well did the new diesel line up with the old bell housing on the granny? I've always wanted to do a diesel swap on my Nissan and I could never find an appropriate diesel that would require no modifications to the truck

gas and TD27 bell housing are completely different. TD 27 bell housing will bolt directly onto the gas gearbox with no modification. You need a diesel clutch fork and throwout bearing , gas will not work. The gearbox front cover plate may be too high or too low for the diesel clutch fork. The fork pivots on the front plate ball stud. They look similar but there are slight differences. Gas and diesel starters and alternators all also different.
