Something like this happened to my youth group last year. We were taking a photo on a dock and the whole thing just collapsed. No one died because we had trained medics in the adult ve group and the water wasn't deep but lots of people got hurt.

My family was on holiday in Spain around a year before I was born in 2005 ( now I'm 12 years old ) and my parents and my two older brothers were in the hotel room and my Nan was on the balcony. It makes me cry just writing this. My Nan wasn't obese or anything. She was just standing there watching my grandad and uncle, who were standing around 20 feet below her and all of a sudden they heard a really loud scream. They looked up and saw my Nan falling along with a bunch of bricks and concrete . Instinctively, he and my uncle put their arms out to catch her, or at least try, but she ended up falling on top of them breaking my Grandad's arm and my uncles leg. Although my Nan had felt worse, she couldn't feel her legs and at first she thought that it was the bricks, but she looked up and realised that they had all been taken off of her and she was lying in an ambulance driving to the hospital. When she got there, they all got X-rayed and my uncle and grandad would recover in around 6 weeks, but my Nan was paralysed from the waist down forever. I was only around 10 when I fully understood and I just feel really grateful that I could grow up with a loving Nan who is always so happy and never lets her disability get in the way of the rest of her life. It also makes me so proud that she goes to a gym and it was about to be closed down but her and a few of her friends ( also with disabilities ) stopped them from doing so as they were getting unhealthy from sitting down all day, everyday. 💖Live life and don't let your fears get in the way of it 💖

Most of these people were my cousins friends (my cousins from galway) they came from Ireland to Berkeley for experience and there was a party and then that happened 😣 it was the scariest day of our lives coz we heard it on the news in Ireland and we thought our cousin died aswell 😭 we called him through everything and he wouldn't pick up ... We then started calling nearby hospitals in Berkeley trying to figure out if he was dead or alive.. The people were still unknown at that point as it hadn't even been 24 hours.. Literally was the scariest day of my life but turned out that he was alive 😌
