2008 Southern Humboldt CA as a tenant was moving out squatters watched and as soon as the previous tenant was completely vacated the squatters moved in before the UHaul truck was out of sight in me rental cottage. Sheriffs chatted with them then told me to go to court to evict them. I didnot. Instead I watched them and as soon as they left for groceries or something similar I MOVED IN! And when they returned I called the sheriffs again for a home invasion and attempted assault situation. And they were taken away and booked for home invasion. There were injuries to the perps. But I defended meself as I am a blackbelt instructor. Yup. Oh no they never came back although months later I saw them in town being arrested for shoplifting from one of the businesses. I am just pointing out that tax dollars are being used to subsidize a for-profit business that should either have a caretaker living in the property or hire security to keep criminals from moving into the neighborhood. At this point I think other homeowners could have a case of negligence against the bank if more squatters move in and the bank doesn't secure the property correctly.

That's a perfect way to make new homeowners change their minds quick, fast, in a hurry, it'll mark the beginning of the end of home ownership, and once homes are not selling no more, because present and future home owners went on a strike, thanks to the city's refusal to do something about squatters, give them severe punishments, and when they fail to reply, arrest them, charge them with a felony charge, strip them of any disability payment, money assistance, or any type of entitlement they're receiving, and give them a super long prison sentence, and permanently ban them from any assistance! FIRST, I DO AGREE WITH YOUR STATEMENT, TO A POINT.
HOWEVER, IT IS THE BLATANT ENTITLEMENT OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DELUSIONAL, EVIL AND TRIFLING THAT BELIEVE SOCIETY 'OWES' THEM. FOR INSTANCE, (AND I WOULD NEVER EVER DO THIS), IF I SEE YOU WITH SOMETHING I MIGHT 'WANT'' I DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO ATTEMPT TO TAKE WHAT IS YOURS. WHAT YOU HAVE DOES NOT BELONG TO ME--THIS IS HOW A RATIONAL PERSON THINKS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT NEGATIVE ACTIONS DEFINITELY HAVE CONSEQUENCES.
THE "BAD GUY", OVER TIME HAS BECOME MAINSTREAM MEDIA WHO ALSO PLAYS A HUGE ROLE IN THE DECLINE OF COMMON SENSE/RESPECT--TV SHOWS/MOVIES/MUSIC GLORIFY VIOLENCE, ROBBERY, ETC--THE BAD GUY HAS BECOME THE 'HERO' BECAUSE THEY TAKE FROM OTHERS AND OFTENTIMES HARM AND MU**ER PEOPLE WHO 'GET IN THEIR WAY'...ANYTHING GOES THESE DAYS AND IT'S APPALLING. PEOPLE I KNOW DON'T TOLERATE THIS CRAP. IT HAS TO BE STOPPED.
AS IT'S SAID: "PLAY STUPID GAMES...WIN STUPID PRIZES".

Squatters don't have "revenge". Because that implies they have been wronged somehow. Saying someone is a squatter is a fancified way of calling them what they are... A criminal. A criminal isn't a victim.

Love it when people look down on others they have never met. You just because they do not look they way you think people should look. Must be nice to be so perfect. However, those types of attitudes are using hiding low self esteem and small people afraid people will see who they really are.

America lost its conscience, morality, and integrity with Row vs Wade. Kill an unborn child because it's 'a lump of flesh' and just inconvenient, and you end up with moral zombies whether they admit it or not. Condone it and you're no better. Vote for it and there's blood-guilt and complicity. Morally bankrupt is a good description. Fake replacement morals are human rights issues that enable criminal or sinful activities and discrimination.
There's a term you don't hear nowadays, that something is a sin. Satan is smart and winning what he can before he is terminated forever.

My neighborhood in LA had a problem with squatters in a home that was foreclosed on and owned by a bank. Eventually, someone bought it at auction just to have the house bulldozed. Once the property was cleared, they had it completely paved over so squatters won't even have grass to camp on.

I am long term homeless & I often sleep rough but I still retain my moral code between right & wrong.
To the squatters, you are a disgrace. Get your crap together. Respect people’s property. If you want to sleep in a house then work towards that. With the emphasis on ‘work’ otherwise be content with your swag or whatever it is you call home.

Lots of cameras, coordination to watch their every move, get the electricity and water shut off, *have the empty house classified as an "attractive nuisance" * which gives the City the ability to level it, until that's done, keep up with calling the police, fire dept, every possible inspector whenever there's a valid reason to do so, get everyone in the neighborhood interested in doing so, trained at the range and equipment with a concealed carry permit, etc. *Keep up the pressure!*

WTH? I'd have to say that some of those squatters are very fortunate individuals and haven't been given some lead therapy!
