    In this video Michael shows you a mental strength technique that will help you block out the surrounding distractions and even slow the game down!
    The technique is to focus in on one tiny spot of a bat or glove and take a big deep breath. This brings your focus to one tiny spot so that you can concentrate on what you are doing versus the distractions that happen in a typical baseball game.
    The deep breath floods your brain and body with oxygen giving you the opportunity to let your mind function faster which in turn can slow down the game.
    To practice this technique you will imagine yourself in high pressure situations, then perform the technique and in your imagination all of the pressure and distractions disappear, then you make a confident swing, play or pitch.
    I look forward to helping you improve your baseball in the future!

    I discovered your videos last Saturday after a tough loss, where I was a weak 1-4 and came into relief and could not find the strike zone. I watched some of your videos but this one struck a chord for me for my hitting and pitching focus,another one of your videos was also instrumental tonight with my pitching when I realized I was striding wrong. Well using this technique I was 2-2 with 2 RBI's tonight, I pitched the last inning went right through 3 guys very easily including striking a guy out on 3 pitches who is a very tough hitter and has been owning me for 2 years. I picked up the save! Awesome. Thank you!

    As a coach for both LL and American Legion, this is the hardest thing to teach players. No matter if they are 8 or 18. To get them to understand that the metal game is as much about life as winning games. Thanks for the video, it will be shared to all my players.

      Couldn't agree more, if you don't have it right upstairs, makes everything so much harder!

    The mental side of hitting is the most overlooked skill in baseball. As you compete longer and longer, mechanics tend to become instinct. In fact, I'd bet 70% of the guys you see playing high school baseball have all the knowledge they need to excel. Baseball is sctually quite a simple game... if you take it for what it is and don't overthink everything, chances are you'll show out. It's this mental drive and preparation separates the good from the great. I'm telling all of you to take this to heart, because it took me years to realize one ridiculously simple mistake I and others are continuously making. We're letting our mind go on AUTOPILOT when we take the field!! To simply walk up to the plate and think our mechanics will do the work makes no sense. How are you going to expect your PHYSICAL skills to effectively react to a pitcher, (yes with a mind and mental plan) who is trying to get you out?? Can you hit with your eyes closed? Thought so; now go about every practice session in the future with the intent to let your brain do dirty work first. The mechanics will follow! Good luck everyone

    I believe people also zone in on the label of a bat to make sure you hit the ball with the hardest grains on the bat.

    • @ProSpeedBaseball
      @ProSpeedBaseball  Před 9 lety +1

      ThatWSFanboy You're absolutely right, the logo of the bat is put on by the manufacturer to show where the grain runs. However, they are now gravitating to this new thing called the "dot test" where they put a marking on the bat to show grain versus the logo.
      Great idea for a video too! Thanks for the comment and for Plus 1'ing all of the videos! It really is a huge help! ~Michael Pro Speed Baseball
