I'm just as surprised as you will probably be about this video. I would have never thought i would make a video on Steppenwolf one day, but i gotta admit, i think he was a really interesting villain in the Snyder Cut.

I love the fact that fans have started making tribute videos of Steppenwolf, just goes to show that even though he was a nobody in the comics
Zack Snyder made him memorable and loved villain for the fans
he was even a nobody in the original cut just a wannabe thanos ripped off as they were trying to hide darkseid from getting referenced

That's why he wasn't impressed with the theatrical cut they butchered his character in that one
It's strange, but I felt sorry for the ending of Steppenwolf. He was a mass murderer, a destroyer of worlds, a ruthless conqueror under the wing of a god-tyrant... But, at the same time there was something tragic about his character. And then those puppy dog eyes when he was in the presence of Darkseid and Desaad... STEPPYYYYYYYYYYYY...! 😭😭😭😭😭
Stephen wolf was dedicated and didn't easy up and fail if Thanos 2 children joined dark side they would not make it because of the times they failed ot would be game over Stephen wolf went hard in the paint

Loved this, Jesse! Steppenwolf's motivation was so simple yet so effective. I have to say he was the biggest surprise for me in the whole movie.
I thought that this ending would be better for him tho:
After Clark punches him from Arthur's trident, Diana doesn't jump to cut his head off... Instead he returns through the portal, falling on the ground at Apokolips.
After few seconds he realizes he is finally where he always wanted to be - his home.
This relization makes him smile, he even says: "Finally, finally I am ho-". Right before he is able to finish his sentence, Darkseid's foot crushes his head into dust, almost like in the movie.
It's a small change but I feel like it would be a much more fitting ending for Steppenwolf, thanks to the motivation Zack gave him.

I like that....but I would loved it even more if Steppenwolf after being thrown through the portal(boomtube) lands in front of Darkseid's boots.Steppenwolf sees where he is looks up to see Darkseid's eye's lit up a fiery red-hot glow. He gets up on his knees with fear expressed on his face,gets obliterated by Darkseid's omega beams into dust.While the JL looks on through the portal with shock as Darkseid's eye's still smoldering with steamy white smoke coming from his eye's,looks at the JL as the portal closes with a boom!😮
@@paulymk9591 I love this. That's definitely a good way to show how much more powerful Darkseid have grown since his defeat on Earth.
But I still think that my version is more... fitting for Steppenwolf's character in a way that he got what he deserved... which is him being stopped by Justice League for the evil stuff he did but also finally getting home. After all the things he had to do, I think he deserved that as well with some moment of peace. I can imagine he haven't have any while destroying those worlds for Darkseid.
But as I said, I really love your vision!

After rewatching the Snyder cut again recently, the "enlighten to the great darkness" line is kinda goated. Major villain or not that man was coming with one goal and one goal only of taking earth for his own.
So Darkseid lost his momery. That's why he can't remember earth.
I mean if you turned 100,000 worlds to dust you probably would forget where the world you lost the battle is on..

At the end of the day Steppenwolf might've been a bad guy but I couldn't help but feel sorry for him trying so desperately to please a master who would never see him as anything other than a tool.

I wonder if they knew what they might have been implying with "The Great Darkness". In DC, the Great Darkness is the source of all evil and negativity, the antithesis of light, creation and good, of which Darksied is a part of.
