Chip did our son's car in 2006. on Overhaulin. It was and still is a masterpiece.! They arranged a theft of his 1969 Mustang convertible from his home with the help and knowledge of the local police department, his wife, brother mother and myself. The car design was taken from what my son had aways told me he wished he could do to his car...Chip nailed it. Our son still has the car and re-runs of the show and a Foose Special can be seen once in a while (Mustang Sting). Thanks Chip for making a dream come true. Your are a true gentleman and artist. The drama was worth it to see my son's reaction to seeing his car recovered and his dream come true. If you ever see thepisode you will know what. I mean. Many workers on Chip's team were volunteers who had the own cars on the show..

I never met Chip. But I stood with my wife 25' from him for about 45 minutes while attending Corvettes at Carlisle. He came out of a tent to a podium where he met a large crowd with a warm greeting. In a 2 hour line up waiting to obtain his autograph was a boy with a homemade model of a car. He was about 10 years old. Everyone in the line got to take a photo with Chip and get his autograph. When it was the boys turn, Chip took the model into his hands and started asking the young man questions about it. The boy explained how he had made the model and why. While others got 30 seconds with Chip, the boy got 5 minutes. Chip wanted to know everything about the kid's car. He was truly engaged and encouraging to the young man and both their eye contact and expressions had us blown away. The sincerity and the time allotment he gave to this creative young and future auto designer was over the top. But was it? Of course. This is the man Chip Foose. A talent extraordinaire and a gentleman.

Seen Chip around Huntington Beach every once in a while. Never talked to him even though we probably have a lot in common...figured he would prefer not to be hit up by a fan boy while at DelTaco. To answer the question posed I can honestly say that I take comfort in the fact that my herd of unrestored original/ rust free/ issue free Mustangs are resting comfortably in another undisclosed state now. I could see my friends watching Overhaulin and thinking that turning to him to restomod one of them would help me out. Needless to say, as much respect as I have for Foose, if that happened I would have a total cow. Folks collect cars for different reasons...I actually enjoy the challenge of restoration and the patience it instills in me especially in this new world of instant bolt-on
    gratification.

It was a fun show... but the part I really didnt like is the "mark" got their ride overhauled, while not having any say or input in the process. How would you like to have an old car, and a binder full of plans for that car and then POOF! "look! we did it for you, and we didnt ask about what you wanted to do!" Sure, it would be exciting to have the car done, but also disappointing to miss the whole transformation.

He graduated one of the best transportation design companies in the county. A very very expensive school so I'm not surprised he had to leave and come back. He was a prodigy pretty much though from what I heard from a fellow Alumni. I also went there but for another program.

Best car show ever! No window dressing here just top to bottom rebuild. Who wouldn't want a nut & bolt resto/mod of a loved car. I'd have given anything to be on that show with my 69 Firebird as long as it was a colour I want he could do anything he sees fit to rod it

Has anybody else won 4 Riddler awards...?!? Amazing...! But I prefer stock, or factory looking cars with modern under-pinnings... Thanks, keep up your awesomeness and don't forget to compliment someone today...

I also met Chip at SEMA, he truly is a down to earth car guy. I had a great conversation with him. As far as having my car hijacked and overhauled...No, I would not be in favor of that, even if it was Chip to the job.

love that show. Miss many of the shows like this from the early 2000's to mid 2000's . After like 2009/10 tv and movies went all to hell. Foose is brilliant.

Overhauling was good early on, but that Johny Depp episode shows the problem that killed it. Early on the impression was most, if not, all the early "marks" were every day people, who could use a hand finishing the car. Johny Depp is worth 10s, 100s of millions. He didn't need help
