Dutasteride is a drug that prevents hair from falling out. Whether it also makes hair grow, that seems quite strong to me, the existing hairs become thicker, making your hair fuller. With a hair transplant, the patient is prescribed this remedy to prevent the area that has not been treated from falling out further.

I’ve been on dutasteride for 2 years, it filled in my crown really well in the first 18 months. The past 6 months the hair on my frontal scalp has really started to lose density. I’ve Increased the dose to 1MG daily up from 0.5mg
In the dutasteride study it shown daily 0.5mg to decrease scalp DHT by around 50 percent, & daily 2.5mg to decrease scalp dht by around 80 percent. The results also shown the 2.5 mg to give moderately better results over the 0.5. But of course this then increased side effects, I’m not going to go crazy and take 2.5 daily but I’ll stick to 1MG & hopefully gain stability, if not I’m throwing the towel in

I feel like u can add almost 2% more on dutasteride vs fin so that 2 years maybe like almost 20% that's great,
I only wonder they tested vertix but what about frontal hair density growth if very receded hair line, will areas get new hairs.
I'm NW 2 transition to NW3V atleast I caught it right when I noticed that transition 7months on finasteride, 2 months dutasteride added 1-2x/week, now 2 weeks ago I'm doing dutasteride EOD.
Still Like balding spots in crown and receded but the areas with hair have increased lots vertex almost back but lots of hair in the front above the ear region all around to the back increased a lot more now but that whole frontal and crown is lacking,
I wonder I'd areas with less hair will just forever have less hair and the areas that have lots of hair will just get even more hair so the areas that are thin will always be thin in comparison, I guess that's where topicals come in so you can apply it just to the areas you need it idk,
I hope I can get NW 1 if not minoxidil will be added.

@Alejandro Santa it's shit , while I haven't experienced any side effects at all I've also not experienced any benefits I've still progressed my balding and while I'm still not that bad I'm still not even a Norwood 3 , but my forehead has gotten larger the hairline has been continuously receding at first it was only the middle than the temples started receding as well as well as the temporal triangles and while the triangles haven't completely receded to the point where it goes straight up from the sideburn they have receded to an extent , I might as well have some nape thinning but I'm not sure about that one as it's still very early and it's hard to tell if it's actually thinning or if it was naturally thinner/gappy back there , I'm thinking that hopefully Minoxidill will help me at least stabilize the situation but the issue is that I keep missing days due to procrastination/laziness , I'm still taking Dutasteride though as it's probably still better taking it than not taking it , anyways wish me luck in this .
