    Use a steamer to remove the tints. Far more easier, less tools required, leaves no residue, very safe for the rear window and can be done by just one person.

    quick tip mate, instead of using detergent use rubbing alcohol because glue is a organic compound and it dissolves in alcohol. It may stink a little bit but if you leave your car door open in a sunny day, the stink would be gone.

    I just tried these steps on a car I purchased in Las Vegas and drove to MN. The police department out here says that it is a security concern and I was given a warning to remove the tint. It took me only 30 minutes to remove the tint. It is also 65 degrees outside :) Thanks guys for the video instructions!

    I don't like tinted windows.

    • @josh4497
      @josh4497 Před 9 lety +10

      Thank you for your valid opinion. Although considering tinting provides security to you and possible goods left in the car, protection from harmful UV rays that can cause cancer and the structural integrity the tinting can provide to the windows in the unlikely event of a crash, it seems there are too many positives to negatives of tinting which renders your opinion redundant. There are also no reasons stated to why you are personally against tinting to provide weight to your argument, leaving it an unfinished declaration.

    • @DarkFrogr
      @DarkFrogr Před 9 lety +1

      Josh Osborne Well first, you shouldn't leave anything of vaule in your car or at least in site where someone can see it. Secondly what can't give you cancer in this day in age and studies show that you should have at least 30 minutes of sunlight a day, Thirdly I don't ever plan on getting in a crash. Every "positive" you gave just got shattered.

    • @josh4497
      @josh4497 Před 9 lety +1

    i have actually removed tint many times and i personally find that a steamer is a lot quicker and better as it removes most, if not all of the residual glue while your pulling off the tint.. just my opinion as ive tried every single different method and this was recommended to me by a friend who works in a tint shop and it actually works so much better than other methods :)

  • @happyfelthappy
    @happyfelthappy Před 9 lety

    The BEST tip is to leave the last bit of tint stuck to the window so the glue and stuff can fall onto the bad tint when cleaning the window. I used this method yesterday to remove the tint from the back doors. It worked out well and was pretty easy. Took about an hour with my sister's help.
    I used a conair handheld steamer and it left no glue residue. The tint and glue came off together. It was like 40$ from walmart.

    I removed my tints with just a razor blade on a sunny summer day and they came right off. Didn't leave much residue at all (nothing close to what you guys got). It was about 90 degrees Fahrenheit (about 32 Celsius) outside and maybe %15 hotter inside the car because I let it sit in the sun with the windows up. Took about 15 minutes for 5 windows.
