I like how Tom kept winning by suddenly remembering his initial specialist choice halfway through the game and doing a massive switchup into it that his foes were not prepared for

That second round was just Tom accidentally completely outplaying his opponent. Every move he made was honestly really good
Somewhat but also if he just went with more storms instead of rhinos that game would have been over way sooner
There's an upgrade in the right tower that lets you sell units, I'd suggest using it frequently. It's really powerful in my experience, since in situations like with the rhinos that didn't do anything, not only do you get to sell them and get your money back, but frequently enemies will respond to the units you just deleted, making them waste money too
Selling a big flanking unit after one turn can be really good!
Whenever Tom asks what's the counter to units that only attack ground: AIR! AIR UNITS!
Seriously though, Air units in this game are highly underrated until you get to much higher ranks where people know how to counter them really easily.
More Mechabellum of any kind is _very_ welcome. It's extremely satisfying to watch.
Phoenixes are definitely one of my favourite units when you get the ability for them to respawn.
If you deploy them spaced out a bit from each other (but not too far), even if a whole group gets destroyed, since they have to warp to an existing Phoenix to respawn, you get to effectively suddenly reposition a mass of Phoenix to an unexpected location.
That added firepower can suddenly swing matchups in ways that are tough to predict, as them getting destroyed just creates extra pressure elsewhere that the opponent used to be safe, and can make them over-invest in defenses.
Oftentimes they can even survive things like a tower getting destroyed until the debuff expires and they have the advantage again.
I have been absolutely loving all the mechabellum content so I'd happy with either this style of video or the horse games
This is by far my favorite thing to watch you play. It stresses me out when I play it but watching you have similar experiences is hilarious.

Another game that might be up your alley that has a demo out is Wargroove 2. The first game is good and the sequel has added a roguelite conquest mode

Bought the game because of the Yogs, it is immensly fun!
If you remove one of the upgrades on the Arclight in customization, you can add one that lets you shoot aerial units. Makes them into an absolute unit against the bad bees

I don't think so. That sounds like *reading* the enemy's mind. We don't pick Tom to read, we pick him to lead.
Parasatic Ammo is a God Tier item and almost always a must take. Combine it with a unit with good Aoe, depending on what you need to counter, and it's ability to spawn crawlers upon kills is clutch at keeping a key Giant alive. That being said, had a hero lvl 9 Archlight with it. One shot basically spawns a full crawler squad against small units. The item is that good.

Bought the game after seeing the horse videos. Only done a few multiplayer games so far, but my favourite strategy has been upgraded Mustangs with extra range with the extra range buff from one of the towers. Absolutely shattered the opponent from long distance. Feel like the tower buffs are the biggest game changers, but the game doesn't mention them in the tutorials.
That last round was really well played!
Getting at least level 2 on units is really good. It essentially double's the stats for half the cost of another of the same unit.
Stormcallers counter all ground units, unless crawlers or rhinos can make it to them. Their damage upgrade alone is OP. Nevermind their Emp, fire, and ranged ones.
Air is a little trickier to counter as nothing specifically only targets them.
But essentially Mustangs are the go-to for all 3,
Arclights or Fortresses with their anti-air upgrades are great vs wasps,
Phoenix's and Marksmen can counter Overlords.
Fangs are usually the worst unit in the game.
Metal Gear Rex thumbnail... I see that Tom has good taste in giant roaring dinosaur robots.
Scissors vs double paper is exactly what I've been thinking when watching your videos, I just didn't have such a concise way of putting it. It was driving me nuts watching you explain what you need to do then do the opposite so many times. But I guess it's better k owing you're aware of it.

Good steel ball counter is sledgehammers actually! Especially against steel balls and mustangs which is a classic combo, sledges do very well there. A set of Vulcans rather than melting points would have been a good idea

If you gave those Rhinos the Final Blitz, they'd be demolishing your opponent's army every round, or force them to spend money countering it.
Taking heavy hacker twice and never using them is a bold strategy.
Never let them know your next move!
Beaglerush is playing a ton of this, and talks a lot about not being reactive and putting together a good composition.

in games of strategy you usually look at your board then look at your opponents and try to figure out what hes going to do based on what he thinks your going to do and then counter that. i dont know how tom thinks but im confident it is not with the least bit of strategy ... except where it is.

tom try the salvage option from your tower you pay 100 points and then every turn you can sell units for a full refund and its good to sell off the weak units you start with like fangs and crawlers and trade them up for higher tier units like sledgehammers over time, like replacing stabbas and shootas with night goblins

Remember, steel balls cant shoot up, airsnipers or wasps are good vs them.

two tips I would say is upgrading unit is very strong and should be one of if not your top priority, and skip reinforcements unless they are very good since you do have to pay for them.

steel ball weakness is replicating phoenix's and emp arclights. oh and more units is not actually better maybe 4 units at most and just upgrade their tech/ lvl them up
to counter crawlers you should have built fangs not your own crawlers
emp is good vs shield/ barriers especially against units with shields like fangs or phoenix's

stormcallers are very under rated from tom i'm noticing.
any packs and big dudes that stand still get absolutely plastered by stormcallers
i feel like Tom underutilizes Wasps
have you tried using Mustangs to shoot down the enemies missiles (counters storm callers and the hunter killer missiles).
i would love to see you unlock more units. several of them are free just grab a free unit just before pressing done. might give you a few more options when you need it in later rounds.

very much dislike how hard it becomes to turn the game around once the opponent gets even a single round of momentum over you, cause you can't really sell or reposition anything, consistently at least. tft feels a lot less rng in that regard honestly, and even there i get sick of it after some time. also you can't scout the opponent during your turn, so it becomes even more luck based, and encourages people to just slap down some overlords or some bullshit at the last second and pull a win out of their ass. or maybe i'm just salty idk
