My father was a police officer for 25 years 17 of them as the chief of police. The city he worked for about 5 years into his stent as the chief got a new mayor. They were cool with each other until approximately 3 years later one of his officers stopped the mayors son for a DUI. Sometime around 3AM my dad gets a call from the Mayor, she informs him of the stop and “demanded” he tell his officers to let them go and allow the mayor to drive the vehicle to her home.
My father called the officer who initiated the stop and asked him for the full story. He explained it was a DUI stop, not only was the driver clearly intoxicated, there was an open container in the vehicle. He told the officer to proceed as usual and called the mayor back. He informed the mayor under no circumstances was she going to receive special treatment. At this point the mayor said to him “You have just made a big mistake against a very powerful enemy. Watch your back.”
The silver lining to the story is that was on a recorded line and the mayor ultimately ended up resigning in disgrace. But the moral of the story is how disturbingly common these types of things happen. It’s sad and disgusting the amount of corruption there is in politics and law enforcement.

Doorley is an intimidator, who likley treated the police like shit, and although she has no control over the officer's employment, likely threatened them with that. Intimidation is powerful when this is your home town, you have a mortgage and a family and a potential black mark on your record. I can understand how this happens,

Cops, judges, and prosecutors should meticulously adhere to the laws that they are tasked with enforcing (unless they're responding code 2 to a call). It's absolutely crucial that those who are tasked with upholding the law and administering justice are in no way _above the law_ .
And emergency/critical care medical providers (including ER & ICU staff) and fire fighters should be driving extremely carefully, because we know exactly how bad the consequences of reckless driving can be first hand. When you've seen literal decapitations of innocent victims due to the reckless driving of another person and run codes of children ejected from vehicles due to a reckless parent, then you have *absolutely no business* subjecting the public to that type of driving.

He also pulled the 'power act' considering himself above any laws. My ethics were, and still are, steadfast without any 'give'. He was genuinely shocked and in disbelief when I arrested him, and in seeing his intimidation efforts went nowhere on me.
It was hard to see this 'officer' be so intimidated and to 'cave' to this wench, when he should have gone hands-on, cuffing her, and arresting her the moment she first refused to obey his lawful commands. His Sgt & Lt also 'lack a pair' and allow themselves to be led by the nose by those with 'political pressure'. Disgusting.

It's telling how little she respected the Officer.
I also found it questionable why she pulled into the garage and went into her home, while telling the officer to get out. I've seen some question whether she was DWI and stashed whatever she had in the garage or home.

Perhaps Ms. Doorley should reacquaint herself with section 1102 of the state vehicle and traffic code : No person shall fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of any police officer or flagperson or other person duly empowered to regulate traffic. Or perhaps article 270.25 of the state penal code A person is guilty of unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor
vehicle in the third degree when, knowing that he or she has been
directed to stop his or her motor vehicle by a uniformed police officer
or a marked police vehicle by the activation of either the lights or the

such officer or such vehicle by driving at speeds which equal or exceed
twenty-five miles per hour above the speed limit or engaging in reckless
driving as defined by section twelve hundred twelve of the vehicle and
