Surely he had jealousy rage going back many years.

I don't see how Clay can be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt when there was other DNA and they only cleared one of her lovers.
They cleared 2 of her lovers but didn't investigate any of the other 8 that month (and I'm not sure if she'd only been doing online hookups that one month or if there was multiple months worth).

I don’t know. It sounds like she was having sex with man after man after man. I wonder if the ex husband just developed a jealous rage combined with disgust and acted on it.
She brought dozens of random men around her kids.
How do you know she brought the strangers around her children. Maybe she only did it when they were at school and or weekends when they were visiting their friends. Do we really know or is that an assumption.
I don’t think it’s wrong to have Romantic encounters when you’re not married any longer although it’s probably not so wise to have so many and to date men more wisely, especially if you have young children.

Ho, she was active alright.
"DNA from the Starbuck family" confused me until I realised Starbuck is the surname.
She had been having affairs for years, even after the first divorce, why would he suddenly get jealous enough to kill?
It wasn't just jealousy. She divorce-raped him. It shows how divorce laws are now rabidly anti-male. If the husband cheats, the wife walks away with cash and prizes, leaving the husband a broken man. And if the wife cheats, the wife walks away with cash and prizes, leaving the husband a broken man.
Such things are not unheard of, especially when you pay that much, & owe that much
The arrears was causing him to be looking at jail time.
Probably because he realised it was the end of the relationship for real this time and he couldn't deal with the fact that she was having sex with other people. A huge blow to his ego. So many moving parts to this story. It's always a tragedy for the children involved- They lost both parents who clearly didn't prioritize them.
You finally had enough.
I can't even cope with my one life and emails....marriage, 10 men and 6 different email addresses 😮 her biscuits must of been burning.

Sadly, sounds more like a sex/love addict than anything. 10 men isn’t fun, it’s a sign of compulsive behavior.
She didn’t work and the father of the kids (who supported her) helped her with childcare such as driving and picking the children up from school.
Sounds exhausting to me 😅
I can see youre thirsty, but it’s still gross that her choices as a single female are your first focus and energy spent to comment rather than commenting that an Innocent Woman was MURDERED and he left all their children orphaned.
As “shocking” as this is for hooded eyes, facts say , many men do this too and a “hole” lot more and nobody seems to be that shocked by their multiple partners nor blame them for being murdered. Why do you think that is??
Really think about your thought process here. We need to do better as a society. And it starts with you, parched or not.
The daughter who took her own life must have been terrified. That's heartbreaking
Yeah, it was a total mess of a situation. I felt so bad hearing about the girl taking her own life. The dad should have tried to get the mom help for the reckless sex addiction, instead he gave her an execution, it's fortunate the crazy dad did not also kill his kids.

My Grandparents split and divorced at one point. Not long later they remarried and stayed that way until their death. They often fought. My Dad wouldn't put them in the same nursing home because my granddad needed a higher level of care, and he didn't want calls from the nursing home that they were yelling at each other.
I didn't find out until a few years ago that they had slept in different rooms.
On my mom's side, I don't really know the whole story but my Aunt slept in an upstairs bedroom and spent most of her time in the living room, kitchen, when she wasn't at work. Her husband had a few rooms in the basement and except for meals, spent most of his time in the basement.
I’ve not finished the video but I’m confused, they had custody of 2 kids each, she had 1 additional from another man, he was unemployed and he had to pay her $4700 a month? 😮 That’s crazy!

If I was on the jury...I would have voted not guilty. This is not evidence beyond reasonable doubt.
Obviously we can't see it all just watching this video, but based on what's said here, I agree with you. It's not a jury's job to make someone pay during deliberations, only to determine if the case is proven beyond a reasonable doubt. I think way too many juries want to make someone pay on their watch. She deserves justice for sure but convicting someone who may be innocent is not the answer.
I agree.
Absolutely agree.
You realize the trial went on for several weeks right? The jurors hurt a whole hell of a lot that isn't covered here. Did you see any parts of the trial or the closing statements? These reasonable doubts that you think are there I wonder why the defense attorneys didn't make them? Do you think that's incompetence and the defense attorneys were engaged in malpractice or what? I don't know if you've ever been on a jury but what goes on in jury deliberations is markedly different from what gets reported publicly. The system is not perfect but it's a hell of a lot more bias to let guilty people go free then guilty people to get convicted although all these true crime podcasts and TV shows makes everybody think that things work much different than they really do

Imagine being unable to speak, and you managed to dial 911 in secret while being held captive, but no one bothers to show up at your home, and you end up being murdered. It appears that no investigation was done after the 911 call was received, and even a simple welfare check was bungled. I can only speculate as to how high the level of policing incompetence may be in this situation like this. Here's what I think, the incompetence was very high. As to Clay's innocence, I think he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, but a much more professional and conclusive investigation should have been performed.
This is a huge problem with police. They ignore or don’t follow up quickly on things like this. They’re working on other things like pulling over mostly law abiding citizens at random and doing fishing expeditions to invent charges. That means they’re safe, flexing their power, and working on “their terms”. That’s what police enjoy doing with their time
Wow excellently worded. Thanks for sharing.
I always wonder about situations like this and if the victim knew how to tap out an SOS, would an emergency operator would even recognize it? -- edit: It would almost always be possible to tap the receiver _(3 quick, 3 slow, 3 quick)_ more quietly than it would to actually dial 911 ...I also wonder if repeating the SOS would be more or less likely to confuse the operator.
The 4th amendment and “castle doctrine” are very high bars to hurdle. Generally speaking, with 911 hang ups, in the absence of any further info suggestive of exigency, police can’t enter.
Cell phones don’t give an address. And in a lot of cases, no owner identity.

Just being a mother doesn't automatically make them a good one, known rotten ones on both sides.
I looked into it, more than I should have, and it's not clear that the woman was having sex with many men, that's a claim made by Clay's defence. It looked to me, she was trying to find another partner, and to do that , she was dating several men to find the right one. Some of her dates said that they never had sex with her, it was just a date. The sex toys appear to have been planted by whoever tortured and murdered Chanin, they were used to humiliate the victem. Some time prior to the murder, a bag of dildos was left at Chanin's door, no proof who did it, but Chanin knew it was Clay (she should have invested in a secrity camera system). Apparently she feared Clay and told people close to her that she suspected he was breaking into her home and stealing things. Clay says that everyone who testified that he was feared by Chanin and stalking her are liars. There's two sides to a story, and Dr Grande left out a lot of damning details. Go to Clay's innoncence FB page, it's as if Chanin never even existed, it's 100% all about Clay. If my wife was brutally killed, even if I devorced and wrongfully convincted, my remaining years would be dedicated with finding the real killer. Amen friend.
Add to that kids and cohabitation. Any one of these brings big Daddy government into your life whether you asked for it or not.
Getting officially married is mostly symbolic today. The courts tend to look at shared legal and financial responsibilities when a separation occurs. There was an interesting court case a while ago, even though the two partners lived apart in separate homes, they shared enough responsibilities over a period of time to be deemed in a common law relationship. If you have a child, married or not, common law or not, you will still be legally responsible for child support.

The 911 operator called back to see what was the problem. My mom explained that it was my son, but the police did indeed come out to my moms to make sure everything was ok. Why did no one show up at Chanin's?? Could her murder have been prevented if they had?
Thanks for another entertaining and informative video
This seems like something that was extremely circumstantial. No TOD mentioned, no legwork done into the partners of the past couple months. I wonder if they tested the son’s DNA compared to the DNA found?? It’s possible the sons could be just as upset with their mom’s promiscuous actions.
There's so many things wrong with this case. The ex certainly could have done it, but, it just as easily can be explained as another one of her 10 (known) partners realizing he wasn't the only one, or even just killing her for fun and staging it to point to the ex. I don't know enough of the details to judge - and neither did the court nor jury.
I wondered about the son too. And here's another alternate theory of the crime - she wasn't 'posed', that was just the position she was in when one of her 10 boyfriends jabbed her with the stun gun for fun and she died laughing (or not). The whole case against the ex-husband is circumstantial as all get out.

One additional-and unidentified-male contributed Y-STR DNA to Ms. Starbuck's neck.
I guess if you want to count her murderer as one, then she did have multiple DNA
She dated to men a the time, one whom she did have a sexual relationship with John Kenlein, and Tom Walker, a man she had met three weeks earlier, whom she hadn't slept with (only went on dates) and he testified to that.
My heart hurts for her. The police should have knocked down her door when she called 911. I wonder if the dispatcher was fired.
Amazing job!!❤
The judge who ordered 4700 is the most shocking thing imhho.
I know you said the Boeing whistleblower death was not suspicious... but another whistleblower just died. Might be worth an update video.
Shannon was also a 'whistle' blower.
@@olliverklozov2789Really?! What was she blowing the whistle on?
@@sheilad.simonette6412 A "whistle" that spits out sticky white liquid lol
@@KhukuriGod Oic lol. I guess it went over my "head". 😅
She was true musician. Playing different kinds of fluits.
The DNA under the nails sealed it for me.
He only talked about DNA on the neck and phone in particular, nothing about nails.
@MimiRAM0NE , he said and under her finger nails, listen to this part of of the video "9:58 to 10:01"
what sealed it for me was the use of a nickname of one of the children on the text message.
I watch your show everyday. I think that your ability to assess situations and cases like this is remarkably profound. What terrifies me is that the vast majority of people cannot think as critically as you do about these things. I have a friend right now that's going to trial and I'm not confident the jurors aren't absolute mouth breathers who are byproducts of a totally gutted education system and have limited higher order thinking skills... I don't know how you got so good at this but I wish more people had your level of insight...
Absolutely. Dr. Grande obviously has a high IQ. Imagine how different the world would look if everyone was at least 10% smarter.
Calm shirt 🙂🌸
I can't imagine how her children felt and feel, having to hear of their mother's "behavior". How awful and scarring that must be. Also, the father had so many other ways to deal with this situation. He could have petitioned the court for a freeze on the child support if he was legit ill/injured/out of work. That would have kept the amount from climbing to an insane amount. He also could have gotten an attorney to challenge the massive amount. Thirdly, he could have easily had the mother declared unfit and he would most likely would have been awarded sole custody, if ha had wanted the kids. This is so tragic.
Oh yeah...family court is all about helping out the father, especially in matters of child support and custody.
How tragic also that one of his daughters had died.
Love your channel
Thank you again Dr. Grande 🙏
She must have exceptional time management and manipulation tactics.
I just watched a long documentary about this case, and she didn't sleep with all these men. She dated a normal amount of people, most of them meeting them for a coffee, dinner. With a few of them she went further. Her ex (the murderer) went on a real smear campaign against her, and he was really jealous - which is why she ended up dead. Sad to see the label he put out there destroyed her reputation like this, especially since she is no longer here to defend herself.
@@missJolie85 can you provide the link to the doc?? my take away from this is it was the bills he had to pay while she was out on the town collecting dna. Money makes people do crazy things.
Dr. Grande- I always wince a little before I click on a new post from you. Like "*Buyer Beware*". 😬
I was thinking Starbucks coffee.... sex toy... cup...😮 I'll head out. Bye-bye now... 👋
How does a man on disability pay close to 5k a month for "maintenance" and child support? I looked up "court ordered maintenance", and it is just a substitute word for alimony. Its definition is to allow the spouse to maintain her existing lifestyle. In other words, Clay was forced to pay his wife so she can have sex with other men. To rub salt in his wound, Clay was forbidden to see two of his biological children. I wonder if the courts secretly monitor these types of situations to see how long before violence is initiated?
The courts would answer to that point: not our mandate over oversee lifestyles or possibles. We can't tell the future.
Never seen “Starbuck” as a last name
Creative in an uncreative way
Never seen "Chanin" as a first name.
Only fictional characters such as the one in the novel Moby-Dick, in my case…

You guys want anything from Starbuck?
I am getting flashbacks to watching Battlestar Gallactica as a kid.

It's crazy how they withhold certain information from the juries. I went to jail in the mid 90s for a weapon charge. The person dropped the charges, but the state picked it up. Out of nowhere, they brought up my juvenile record of getting caught skipping school and getting caught out after curfew. They made me sound worse than Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy, combined lol
Once again: Restraining order = death warrant.
That’s terrible their daughter killed herself over this shit most likely.
This wouldn't happen if the state didn't fuck over men in divorce. Women shouldn't get a payday for being evil.
I wonder if her frequent visitors were also customers.
She sounds like a horrible person. Can't say I feel sorry for her
Thanks for the vid. Please consider the case of George Burch and Nicole VanderHeyden in Green Bay, Wis.
