@@brianhealey5286 sadly we all non Asians make that mistake, Im getting better at recognising the differences but at times it's still difficult. Same as when foreigners come to Africa, being here my whole life andliving throughout the continent I'm good at recognising the differences but I can see foreigners getting confused.
This is the best version of this piece I have ever heard. Much better than the leading European and American orchestras. They tend to rush the phrasing and generally perform it too fast. This Chinese version has so much of the musicality that many other orchestras unfortuneatly have lost to "perfection" or an intellectualized intrepetation that is mostly technical.
I whole heartedly agree. I’ve listened to many renditions by highly acclaimed opera singers and none truly compare to this duo

Lei xu의 꽃들의 이중창 역시도 훌륭하고 아름답네요. 중국인 Lei xu과 메조소프라노의 이중창을 듣고보니, 같은 동양인의 조수미와 이아경의 플라워듀엣이 생각나네요.
아마 2008년, 2009년 그 즈음 한국에서 공연한 것으로 기억하는데요. 양쪽 모두 귀를 홀리네요. 훌륭합니다.

Sorry, no. Poor pronunciation, strange phrasing, and the soprano constantly overwhelms the mezzo. NOT how it should sound. Check the version by Sabine Devieilhe and Marianne Crebassa to hear how it should be pronounced, and hear the *perfect blending* of voices, with neither overpowering the other. Sublime!

These are good, i think its the acoustics that make it sound nearly as good as the one you refer to.

The mezzo has a round, velvety tone while the soprano has a thin, piercing one. That is why they don't blend well.
