Analyzing Mourinho’s Psychological Effect on his Squads
Jose Mourinho has been known to have some icy relationships with his own squads in recent history. Recently at Tottenham, there have been some worrying signs of a potential relapse, as he publicly chastises Tanguy Ndombele, and claims that all of Leipzig’s substitutes would play in his team at his Spurs, plus we look at the demeanour of a Mourinho press conference. What effect do his words have on his squads, and is it all just a front?

    Cohesion vs Chaos.
Everyone is inclined towards one of the two methods of management.
Mourinho however goes with both approaches. Dealing with a player like Terry, he went with Chaos. With someone like Zlatan, one he couldn't collide with, he commanded loyalty through Cohesion.
At spurs, if he thinks that players would work harder if they are looking to prove themselves after a never ending spell of failure, it could work. However, the flaw is that it won't work with every player. Some may just look for an exit door.

Mourinho never said all liepzig subs would be starters in his team at any time. What he said is, at this moment with all the injuries the team has and lack of players in certain positions, the players on Leipzig bench would play if he had them, not because they’re better than the spurs players but just because at the moment Tottenham has no players to play and rotate! Media always trying to get something negative from whatever Jose says without putting it into context!

Easy, the owner is the same. The ideas of the board are the same and the players are the same. Now if people still want to compare the end of Poch with all players available and how they were going, with the Mourinho state of things where he got half the starting eleven injuried till the end of season. There's a big difference.
Anyway I think that this generation of players are a bunch of babies that never had to be tough in life and when the pressure amounts, they crack and just want to get out. Very weak mentality, and if you want to compete at the highest level they NEED to grow and get a rock solid mentality.

perhaps it’s the evolution of humans in modern day society that lacks the type of character that he is used to. Humans evolve, so does talent pool changes with different kinds of player qualities, and very few modern day players with a quality that he values. Literally none.
Defensive Football has and will always exist in any and every era, even in the future of Football evolution. It’s up to him afterall.

It’s confusing as a Spurs fan right now, it’s hard not to watch this video and agree with a lot of what you’re saying. The injury list is big, and we’ve had a lot of recurring injuries to the likes of Lloris, Davies, and Ndombele. And all these players are just some of Spurs’ best, they are also senior members of the squad, leaders in the squad, both by example and by their voice. And the squad they’re left with doesn’t have many. And while I can agree to an extent with how Jose has approached Ndombele, because he has not been good enough, and we know how much effort the club has put in to get him fit, so you can believe that Mourinho has spoken to him privately, and that he feels it’s not had a sufficient effect, so he’s trying a new tactic. And I think you can see these players are mentally fragile, hence the struggles under Poch in both this season and the previous one. But is Jose helping? In some ways yeah, in some ways no. Jose needs use this time to revise both his on field tactics (because it can’t all be mental, there are weaknesses in the way the team is setup and with the players we have at the moment can compete in the premier league) but also his off field tactics, because he has made comments which worry a lot of people. We all want him to be successful at Tottenham, and he definitely wants to be successful here, but if he wants to stay at this level for as long as possible then he does need this job to not go in same direction as his previous ones, and if there’s a club to do that it’s probably Tottenham.

Is a love affair, emotional rollercoaster he try to input on the players relationship with him, it works until some points until the stress start to take effect. All explained on all or nothing tottenham series, is first job, more than tactical is to make them a more aggressive, more united team that Will react with passion to the situation of the game, only like that is team can perform 200% every match. Look all clubs in which he thrived first 11 were mostly warriors(that they excelled when they were pushed by him, type of players that wanted to prove to him, hard millitary style kinda, like FMJ there is private joker but on the other hand there is private Pyle if you get the description). Look united at the moment, individuals who are more for them self than for the team in that atmosphere guy like Ole is more suited to man management. Tottenham w/o Son, Kane and Sissoko (and now Bergwijn too) is a broken team. Too many similar players.
Everyone can dribble, but who is actually fast? Who can actually shoot, or get on the end of a cross in the box?
Lamela, Ndombele, Dele Alli, Gedson, what are these players contributing RIGHT NOW?
A lot of failed dribbles and that is about it. They take too long to move the ball forward, because there are too many dribblers. And there are too many dribblers because everyone else is injured.
That is what a proper injury crisis is. Not just a lot of injuries, but a lot of injuries to specific parts of the team, in this case, the physical, athletic, attacking players.

back in the day most players would take criticism and turn it into motivation whereas now players crumble under that stuff.
not saying mourinho is perfect (no coach is) but i feel like hes kind of sick at the fact that players now cant take it. not saying all current players r like this, but it def seems to be quite different from before.
was a starter but had parts of my game that would drive my trainer crazy at times so he decided to call me out on it a few times instead of just babying me. instead of pouting and crying about it, i said fuck it, ill show u how good i am and worked my ass off til there was nothing for him to say. obviously this is what mourinho wants, players fighting and working to prove themselves instead of crying about criticism but maybe that just no longer work with most players now

I am a Soldier and over the years, i've come to realize that it is very rare and difficult to find a good leader who is a good person. The problem with mourinho is he is a good football manager but a bad person. He cannot help being toxic because of his bad nature.

Arsene Wenger got to stay as long as he did because he is a good person before a good leader. I do not think Fergie is a good person but many people think of him differently. From my experience, a good leader came from being a good person first. Unfortunately, most leaders today are only underlings. They rose by pleasing their leaders not by leadership skills. The best people I worked with do not care to be a leader because they prefer to do things the right way instead of the ways whoever in charge. The good leader who is also a good person is rare, but they made life better for everybody.

It's amazing how someone can go from being unequivocally the best man manager in the world, someone's whose players would cry & moan when he left (and not prima donnas, proper old school players like Materazzi), to someone who loses entire squads at the drop of a hat within less than 10 years.
As a Chelsea fan, given we saw/felt both sides of this coin first hand, the root of it was blindingly obvious in hindsight. Nothing fundamentally changed except one thing during his second spell - it was no longer "us against the world", it had become "Mourinho against the world" - if the fans can feel that you can be sure his player do too. It's all about perception, right now Liverpool is 100% Klopp's baby but he does a fantastic job of making it appear to be a team effort, that's a true leadership gift & something Mourinho lost a long time ago. The clubs he manages feel like his possession these days, vessels to keep his ego satisfied, and it's evident the way he speaks in public - one way or another everything has the funnel back to him. He appears to be trying a slightly different approach at Spurs, time will tell how long that'll last.

    • @manunited7882
      @manunited7882 Před 4 lety +1

      Such horseshit.
you seem to know nothing about the real Mourinho.
Man you talk like he did something bad at your club when it hasn't been the same since he left and you're free falling.
When Jose was at United it was always the club first, not the owners or Ed Woodward, it was about the legacy Ferguson left and the fans.
Look at them now. Piss poor and currently plodding on with the worst manager in their history who's willing to say anything to keep his job.
Jose highlisted the problems and told us the players didn't care, they weren't good enough, we won't reach anywhere.
      As you're seeing it now.
Secondly, if everything was about him then why'd Travel around the world to see other cultures, why does he keep in touches with former players and they all say good things about him? It's almost as if you're wrong.
When he became pundit he helped Spurs a lot. He told them how to defeat Ajax and they did, despite rising the stocks of the most overhyped manager at.
When guardiola managed 100pts at city, after spending 800mil laughably didn't wanna say anything about how he did it. As if it's was some secret only for Klopp to manager 97pts and the best start to a season in history.
You see trend here? It's only fashionable to hate Mourinho because it's popular and you're afraid to think for yourself you dumb cunt.

The squad needs refreshing of not a pretty large overhaul, of Jose is given the tools to do so and the time to do it then he will get them to be a strong team again.
The rhetoric going around that Jose is outdated is simply incorrect, he is one of the best coaches in modern history and had a proven track record.
Ultimately it’s on Levy to back Jose in the transfer market if he wants him to succeed.

The confrontational approach is just used to excuse his style of blaming the squad for his own failures. The guy always blames others for mistakes he makes. If he was using that approach sincerely, he can confront them in the dressing room. He doesn't have to announce to the whole world that he disapproves of a single player or some of his players.
