- A video to be taken only a quarter seriously, just me, missiles, and a good time! Maybe some rum, maybe. So many mistakes in this video, but also so many missiles.. so I think It evens out!

I think we have a WF design that uses that concept (though not sure which one). One of the devs showed it off not long after cluster missile parts were introduced.
I actually like these "limit testing" videos where you are free to go to near-exploiting levels of weapon testing. I mean, the station was clearly designed to have at least one mad scientist aboard!

What about the particle cannon he made that did 1mil damage, just make that one bigger and you have a delete ship button
This "missle" is bigger than many ships, and deals more damage than nukes.
Rocks fall. Everybody dies.
Nukes got buffed recently but they really need to be taken more seriously. Like, 200000 material cost, 1 billion damage seriously. Something absolutely obscene. Then the existing small nukes can just use normal bomb graphics and act more like normal bombs.

Also, I love how the HEAT missile just ignored all of its counters and does too much damage to be viable even against the megalodon. I wonder how far it would penetrate that sort of ship if it hit perfectly on the nose or something like that.

The HEAT missile actually did damage the Megaladon’s turrets but they didn’t detonate because they were loaded with non-explosive railgun shells. Those shells only use solid and sabot bodies so there was nothing to blow up and cause a chain reaction.

found this channel when I was like 8 I then begged my mom to get this game after I saw the cool ships you would build all the way back in 2016 im now 14 and to this day with 700 hours on this game I still have no idea what im doing, this channel and this game was the best part of my child hood I hope you never stop plying FTD.

Imagine that missile was a harpoon...
You could literally drag enemy ships into orbit then bombard them with cram shells as the enemies can't move
harpoons dragging ships down or up are awesome.
Or cover the bottom of the station in rams, and set up some engines for re-exiting and then drop ontop of the enemy

Lathrix is a rocket surgeon, carefully removing large quantities of boats via rocket powered rocks!
The location of the controller determines where the submunitions come out of the missile. So sticking the controller on the front of the missile will help them release closer to the target.
There's something about seeing you blow stuff up that's like a virtual catharsis for me. Sort of like popping bubble wrap now that I think about it.
Didn't expect to see a space station throw rocks at a ship. Still totally worth it.

to answer the question at the end of the video, yes. I would love to see series where he just makes the most insane weapons possible. Like a fully automatic 800 mm Cannon or laser that can just melt ships.(if anybody wants to share their ideas go ahead) Just have fun blowing stuff up

My favourite thing about these thumper missiles is that they're so uneventful. There's just a light "bonk" and then half the enemy ship vanishes

I saw this as an idea on a past video, use this thing as your main base for the next Ftd series
Theory about the ‘minigun missile’, it fires its missiles faster than it restocks and, when it empties its internal storage, it stops.
Not sure whether this is plausible, but it’s my best guess.

I very much like these types of videos. Fun to watch you mess around, and I get to learn more about various things in from the depths, which is completely useless to me, and useless knowledge is the best knowledge.
After watching this, I made a HEAT torpedo. It didn't make a big hole where it hit...
...but the other side of the target ship was gone.

Hey Lath, been here since season 2 of FtD way back in 2015 or something like that. I realise you hear this often but just remember we are all here for you.
Edit: The reason why the cluster missile harpoon stops firing after a while could be that while it takes some missiles from the main storage, maybe it periodically empties storage (before the mass reloading of missiles catches up) completely, then using up its own storage and then the game classes it as empty. Just a hypothesis, but would be fun to research. Might do it myself
The thoughts going through my mind as Lathrix was going over the missile in the start of the video were mainly, "that giant thing is not gonna turn for s*** xD"
Love the Ftd-vids to bits! I most enjoy the campaign ones where you weave a bit of story into it and start with a lot of constrictions in terms of resource. It's interresting to see how you have to be creative with what you've got and then progress to the doomvehicle-level further on. That said, any Lathland Ftd-vid is a good time to be alive.

Rods from the Gods was an interesting project. It was thought that since the kinetic force of a large tungsten rod hitting something is comparable to the energy released in a nuclear detonation, it was supposedly a workaround to no-nukes-in-space treaties.
Good luck to you Lathrix! I'm a huge fan of your FTD series but don't want you to burn yourself out on the game. If you do go through a campaign, maybe make it easier on yourself with the supply logistics so you can simply focus on the parts you love? I just enjoy watching your amazing builds in action :D
I love these. Someone much more versed in FTD is doing science, having fun, and I am learning from it
I found the "Rods From God" missile's tenancy to just delete turrets absolutely hilarious. Just something about with a train sized chunk of steel descending from orbit and randomly un-existing a sub-object.
Also the HEAT missile might actually be a viable weapon considering it essentially one-shot the Megladon. I mean technically it survived but you put a house sized hole in it and it immediately started to capsize, making it essentially a free kill to 90% of craft.
Can't say I'm a fan of the "later in this video" intro clip. Kinda kills some of the surprise and the fun, now I know what happens in the video without even having to watch it.
