    I learn a lot from your educational videos but also like how you are showing a little bit more of your overall farm and operations. Your perspective on gardening is an welcome change from some channels that promote consumption. I do not farm or garden for a living but I get the best information from those who do. Farmers are true stewards for us all.

      Thank you very much! We turn down lots of offers for promotions and free items because we don't want this channel to become driven by consumption. Appreciate your comment!

    We're in the North Carolina mountains and just a couple weeks ago it dropped down to 48 at night. I'd say that definitely has made an impact on plant growth especially peppers. Love your videos! You have been a huge help educating me about dahlias 😊

    Awww isn’t it so rewarding getting projects done? 😊 Wow, with the weather you’ve been having it must be stressful as a flower farmer. How are your Lisianthus holding up?

    • @Blossomandbranch
      @Blossomandbranch  Před rokem +1

      The lisis have been loving the cool damp weather!!! Last summer they rosetted with the early June heat so I'd rather have this, and thankfully they were under hail net!!

    The flowers are gorgeous and the Bridal bouquet turned out stunning in spite of the set backs for getting all the bouquets finished. Our temps have been so up & down here in northern IN, my plants don't know what to do. It doesn't help that I didn't get my Stock starts planted until just last week! I may never see what they actually look like in person. Ha! I did have a couple of last years Snapdragons regrow this year from the same plant, so that was a pleasant surprise that they never really died back all the way over the winter.
    Have you ever done a video on what to expect when starting Dahlia cuttings? I have some that I planted and they seem to be doing ok, but not doing anything, except existing after about a month or so. Some have the leaves curling inward a bit, but one that I started indoors is looking the same as when I planted it, which appears quite healthy & ok. Does it take a long time to notice results?

    • @Blossomandbranch
      @Blossomandbranch  Před rokem +1

      THanks for watching! That bouquet was a stunner for sure! The weather has been absolutely nuts this spring, definitely more so than usual.
      I have not done a video on that as I usually don't bother with dahlia cuttings--they are too finicky for me and my climate too dry for them to be very successful! Have you pulled any up to see if they're rotting or if they are developing roots at all?

    • @UnderAPileOfScrap
      @UnderAPileOfScrap Před rokem

      @@Blossomandbranch I appreciate your input and it's Good to know that cuttings are finicky! I see other gardeners mention how easy it is to do cuttings & how to pot them up, but none seem to go beyond that stage, or I just can't find those videos. You are quite knowledgeable and give a little more finer details in your videos that I thought maybe you practiced this area of Dahlias propagation as well.
      I feel resistance in the soil when I tug on them, but I pulled one yesterday that had curling leaves, and while it is still very green and healthy looking otherwise, it had no roots sprouting after a month. I don't know how long that rooting process should take. I did just read somewhere that in order for them to sprout roots/tubers, they depend on a certain length of daylight, shorter than what we have right now (better in spring/fall?) I only started one during that time frame & it is the one that doesn't have leaves curling in, but I also don't notice any new growth (I'm afraid to check the roots for fear of ruining what may be working).
      If this is the how they typically grow, then I can see why it's not beneficial for market growers to pursue this process, unless they have the extra space & time for it.
