The daily life of these soldiers, from the training center in Castelnaudry to training courses in Africa and Latin America... Director: Jean-Baptiste Gallot
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Special thanks to veteran legion officers who share personal knowledge/experiences pertaining to life in the Legion. Making this presentation more authentic and possible -!!!😉
Regardless of how many times they've repeated this same video throughout the years, the foreign legion is one of the best, plus they give some of these men a new chance at life after fkn up their younger selves. May god guide and lead and bless the legion.

God has nothing to do with it. How do you know god isnt on the side that this "Legionaires" fight? No friend, war is a construct of Man, and God condemns all to an eternity of Hellfire, those who take the lives of his creations, for a flag or nation. Only He can take a life of man.

I don't know if the Legion makes you a man but a period of organized schedule and taking responsibility of your actions and the actions of your team is good for mental development of young people.
@user-xb7yz6wq1d the Foreign Legion is the only institution in the world that could give you the filmmaking techniques and abilities to make a new documentary. As we all know the documentary GOATs like Werner Herzog and Louie Theroux were in the Legion

He also is a drug addict and in and out of prison so I find the correlation between those things and the FFL, specifically, fascinating

What are (typical) FFL NCO and officer career tracks? What are the retirement benefits? Drama is fine for civilians drooling on their shoes but professionals compare careers not memes. How does the FFL promotion rate compare with other serious armed forces? What percentage remain for a full career? Do a video on that and it will be flooded with views by potential applicants.
I am curious as how they can just change someones country of origin/citizenship .. illegally? Bc the name change is feasible bc it only requires thate persons desire to change his own name, but the country change thing is kinda different
Gaul is part of modern France so it's just what region of France they say he's from, just not translated very well. The rest is easy enough, France issues you with a passport and documents and voila, you're French for at least the next 5 years. It doesn't need to be permanent, you can go back to your old existence if you want at the end of the 5 years. Some do for various reasons, some don't.
B/C its like a paperwork trick, required by the french law and visible in french registries. it is done to fullfill some french loophole regarding Legion being a foreigners-only unit.

Mostly, yes. I'm not sure why you're surprised, the legion's always had that kind of reputation. It's mostly poor people, people who might have been in trouble with the law, former soldiers from poor countries looking for a better salary, people with nothing to lose, etc etc.
