I had gotten Take Along Salty for my 5th birthday in 2007 and he was placed on top of my cake with Fergus and one other engine

Fun fact: If you watch Damian’s Trains and Travels’s ERTL videos, you’ll find out that Salty, Harvey and Elizabeth were released in January 2003 as listed in a magazine from the time. As for his Take Along model, from the pamphlets I’ve seen on the internet, he would have been released in the summer that year.
Since Salty is a diesel who was introduced in the penultimate season of the classic era, there isn’t much missing information for me to comment on compared to Henry and Edward, but strangely Salty was one of those recurring side characters whose Take Along model was hard to get in Europe after 2005. I don’t remember seeing him in stores outside of the gantry crane set. Not really sure why that is.
ERTL really nailed it in their later years btw.

Worst: 2019 Salty. Reason: The chassis is too big.

I own the 2017 talking shark salty! BTW, you can actually remove his cage if you want to have a normal one, but not waste any more money!
