- This is not a list of the worst or the weirdest songs, but the songs that make us cringe the most, for whatever reason. Which Eurovision song makes you cringe?

A nice collection of songs, wouldn't call even half of them cringe.
This is not “cringe.” Most of these songs were intentionally silly. True “cringe” would be songs that were really bad while honestly trying to be good, like UK 2023 or Ireland 2021. That’s cringe.
I get what you mean! But "cringe" isn't an objectively measurable thing, it's just a feeling a person gets. These are the songs that made us cringe the most. The way I personally see it is, when someone is earnestly trying to make good music, it's never cringey to me. Even if they fail miserably, it's more like "aww too bad, don't stop trying" than "please stop i can't take this". I don't know about you, but nothing makes me cringe harder than when someone is trying desperately to be funny and fails. There's a reason why Verka Serduchka isn't on this list, but the salad boys are. Verka is fun, the salad boys are a group of guys from your local business school on their way to media studies party, thinking that if they wear 70€ suits from Opposuits and pretend to be vegetarians, they're gonna get laid. It feels disingenuous and gross and that's what made us cringe. But, again, there's no right or wrong when it comes to what makes a person cringe and I totally get your point of view!

I don't see anything cringe in Lie to me and Dance you off, though I'm not a big fan of both. Jedward, Push The Button and Baila Chiki Chiki are my huge guilty pleasures. And I adore Moustache, Stripper and Woki mit deim popo and I'm proud of it! XD I found Mama SC a bit cringe tbh, not the song itself, but the full performance.

The fact that some of these songs made it this far says a lot about Eurovision.

I object! Benjamin Ingrosso's dancing may have been a teeny bit cringe, but not nearly enough to place in a "top 20", and the the song was cool!

When he sticks his butt out and does his little chicken walk and then looks directly at the camera like he thinks he's the hottest man in the world and then does his little backward nod, I cringe. But hey, if you enjoy the performance, that's much better than cringing at it, so more power to you!
I think Benjamin is a great singer and a good performer. The song was good as well as the staging,

Due to injokes in my friend group, we have memed the hell out of some songs
"Popular" rhyms impossible with possible, and at the end he gets put in a cage of glass and breaks it a second later
"Get You" (ooooh I'm gonna get you) kinda sounds like a threat, so now everytime we sing it we have to make finger guns
"Lock Me In" one of my friends really hates the song, so we have pretty much rickrolled him with the song
"Foi Magia" when we got to 2004 my friend said that the song was foigetable, so I spammed Foi Magia in the group chat until it was all you could see
"Don't Break My Heart" the chorus is sung so often that we just made our own versions (17 so far) relating to the most random things
"Hello From Mars" 'CAUSE THIS IS GONNA BE (this gonna be) THE DAY THAT WE WILL SEE (day we will see) WHEN HEAVEN COMES SO DOWN TO EARTH, TO SAY HELLO FROM MARS!
I would replace Lithuania 2006 with Estonia 2008.

The "I dont feel hate" song... I find the actual lyrics to be cringe. And so its unintentionally bad

I jave a feeling my country (lithuania) used that songs to make it our eurovision's selection theme song, as it is used everywhere and is the closest we ever were to winning.
17 and 16 seem like a personal thing more than anything. I don't see what could ever be cringe about those two entries, especially 16, which is just a very polished pop song.
Its the faces he makes and the weird movements, the song itself is fine

Monkey here pretty much hit the nail on the head! We find the performers and their performances cringey in those two cases, not so much the songs. And hey, it's possible to cringe for personal reasons, too! :)

I don't want to take away from your enjoyment, so if you like those songs, great! To us, those performances just seem insincere and misguided. Especially the salad boys feel gross, like they're a bunch of douchebags who go vegetarian for a weekend to get laid. But that's just our feeling, it's not right or wrong 😊

Thanks for your comment! There's nothing wrong with rock in Eurovision, it is in fact my favorite genre, we just published a video of the best rock songs in Eurovision. Achille Lauro and the song Stripper with the weird mechanic bull and the half English half Italian lyrics just make me feel uncomfortable (=cringe) so that's the reason it is in this list. 😊

Cringe is a verb, not an adjective. Cringing is a reaction a person has, so these are performances that make us cringe. We're not any more correct in our reaction than anyone else, of course, it's just our own involuntary reactions to some songs. 😅
I'm guessing "silly" and "fun". Most of the entries on this list are in my top Eurovision list 😅

Personally, bad rapping makes me cringe and really bad rapping makes me cringe hard. It's a fundamentally lyrical thing, so when the rapper doesn't have a strong grasp of the language they're rapping in, it's really terrible. Eurovision is a multilingual event, so if someone isn't a really strong lyricist in English, they should maybe opt for rapping in their mother tongue, like Kalush. But hey, if you don't mind the rapping there, that's great! Hopefully me cringing at it doesn't lessen your enjoyment of the song 😊
Bro, I loved Austria 2012 and France 2014. Not because they were the winning tracks for me, but they were catchy to me. But thank fucking god that I'm not the only one who finds Jedward cringe, because I still do until this day.

Don't hate me but Finland 2015 was a cringe - i give them 100 % for trying though.
There's nothing more cringe than Ukraine's 2022 (they should thank Putin for the undeserved mercy votes) and Finland 2023 (thanks Lord Looren slayed that joke).
Sounds like you're not commenting on the performances so much, but rather the results of the popular vote. We're Finns, so we have a soft spot for Käärijä, but I can see how someone might cringe at that performance. Kalush Orchestra, on the other hand, while they definitely got a big boost from the international community showing their support for Ukraine, was just a good song with a good show and would have landed them near the top in any political climate. But that's just my opinion.
The Netherlands 2006, 2012 and for sure 2009 could have been on the list.
