Light's mistake was when he uttered "I won". WTF? At least wait for other people to fall over and clutching their chest before announcing your victory. Smh.
No it was not- why? Because 1. Near and Giovanni allredy saw Ryuk when Light entered that place and 2. Mikami wrote the name of everybody but Light in the Death Note what Near and everyone else could clearly see.
Lightes mistake was to overestimate himself and his intelligence.
@@xxxaxxx396 Light would have won that last battle aswell, if he didnt trust Mikami who did actions by himself even tho light told him to not do it. Light did not overestimate himself nor his intelligence. According to Near in the last encounter Light would have won if Mello didnt sacrifice himself and Mikami started acting by himself without wating for Lights direct orders since that lead Giovanni to find the real Deathnote`s location, otherwise according to Near himself Light would have tricked them. So Mikami is actually the one that cucked Light.

Lights moment is only dumb in hindsight, especially compared to everything else on this list. That scene was really good because it didn't make light seem dumb but rather made L seem really smart
I don't think it really had to do with intelligence as much as his wish to be seen as a god. His arrogance and god complex made him feel invincible, regardless of how much anyone knew about him he still believed that he would be able to outdo everyone in everything. Light was not used to losing so he never expected to lose. After all he had an otherworldly notebook that was able to kill someone just by writing their name while having their face in his mind. To Light this was more than enough reason to make rash decisions. In his mind he wanted to make some rash decisions anyway in order to be known as a "god".
Great .. now you need to make a list of the smartest decisions .. no.1: Light eating a potato chip!

No. 2: Lotton the Wizard wears a bulletproof vest to a gunfight involving Revy; Black Lagoon. Out of dozens of bounty hunters there, dude's the only one to walk away thanks to that move.
Either that or wearing a cup while fighting Roberta. Granted, fighting Roberta is suicide, but that cup ensured he'd have kids later on.

The dumbest decision was from L. Light killed fake L BUT if L didn't reveal the whole setup just as a way to prove his genius to Light and challenge him, Light would have thought he had won and continue all his killings as before.. making it easier to get himself caught.

This puts the scene into a whole new perspective.
I mean, I still think L is superior in intellect and strategic acumen, an it's clear the reason why he did that is because the writer wanted to showcase how smart L is and because the story could potentially end earlier otherwise, but it's a great observation.
No, that was intentional. If L didn't reveal his reasoning, then Light wouldn't do anything to draw attention to himself.
The fact that Light now knows someone is hot on his heels would spur him to do something that would catch L's attention. Especially after the fact that Light's outburst in killing fake L shows to the real L insights into how Light thinks.
There's that and there's provoking a genius with high amount of pride making him take idiotic decisions

Actually not. If L didn't taunt Light then he would have never confirmed that Light needed a face and a name. In the eyes of L, Light could easily kill fake L and then real L unless he taunted him. Because if he didn't taunt him then Light would just go back to killing.
It's only when he taunted him and Light didn't kill him that proved that he needed a name and a face. And that it was in that specific region of Japan.
Kira's biggest mistake was to kill Ray Pember

Light didn't expect there was someone as smart as L
If he knew what L was capable of he would easily see through his plan
Right, but there was absolutely no reason for Light to kill Lind L. Taylor. Regardless of what hind sight tells you, Lind L. Taylor was only guilty of provoking Light. He wasn't a criminal that Light would have known to kill, he also wasn't directly getting in the way of Light's killings. The only reason why Light killed him was because he let himself get provoked and he wanted to show the world his power.
r315r4z0r You can't say that was a bad decision, just cruel one, since he killed everyone in the show who was even a little opposing his plan, like the 12 USA FBI agents
Just going to throw in my two cents here.
I think that Light is decision was bad but not because he killed Taylor; from his point of view he is 'Justice' (he even says so at the end of the chapter) so, by defintion, anyone who opposes him is evil and at the moment Taylor called himself L and said he was going after Kira.
From Light's point of view that is more than enough reason to kill him.
However, he should have waited or make him die by a car crash or something instead of falling for a simple provocation and immeidately kill him; no one knew that he can kill in other ways aside from a heart attack at the moment so it would have been untraceable (albeit, the real L might have made the connection but Light couldn't have known that Taylor was a fake L).
Instead he goes 'this guy says I'm evil, I'm going to kill him with my magical notebook to teach him a lesson' and the rest is history.
This is just my opinion, though.
Expecting no one to be clever enough to trick him was stupid in itself.
No matter how you put it, he let his emotions get away with him (a fact you can see by the way he wrote Taylor's name in giant letter across a page and not in his usual neat systematic manner) and skrewed up royally.
Manu 259 Light did it the way he did because he wanted to show the world what happens to those who oppose him. Send a message out there that anyone who dares to go against him will die.
Remember, he’s got a god complex. And to become the new world’s god, he needs to make sure people not only believe in him but fear him as well.

Personally, I'd say a bigger mistake would be not expecting his trigger-happy fanboy to go off-script and reveal who the Third Kira was. An easy way out of that would be to have a fail-safe in place- a simple phrase for Light to work into conversation, to let Mr Delete know Near may have tampered with his Death Note and add Light's name too. Near's only concrete bit of evidence was the fact that Light's name was the ONLY name not written down. Had Light factored in the possibility of Near catching on to the Third Kira, he could have taken that evidence away by having his name written down too. Or maybe make use of his followers and have them bomb Near's HQ when they stormed it- that would have also worked.
He had no other choice :)

That's not what made the fight so dumb. The dumb part was that Bakugo has been seen using his quirk to propell him in the air. she basically spent the fight trying to get Bakugo to fly.

His fight with Elesa in Unova, Ash thought he could sweep all of her Pokémon with Palpitoad. After an Emolga upset, Ash leaves the Gym mid-match to get Snivy from the PC & resumed the match when he came back, that should have been a forfeit especially when it was a televised battle in front of a live crowd.

#1: every time a villain monologues their plan, giving the hero time to stop them and basically telling them how.
I would argue for Light that an even dumber decision he's made was killing Ray Penber. He was an agent for the *FBI* for God's sake. To this day, I still find that the most idiotic move Light has made. One does not simply kill an FBI agent and believe they can get away with it, even getting the other agents' names. Like that not going to throw the detectives and the Japanese task force off and immediately point fingers to Kira.

#9 would've been considered legit dumb if the repercussions were any clear. It IS dumb to join the guys that screwed you over (unless that made him psychotically grateful for the boost in power) but really didn't make sense how things would've gotten any different had he stayed. Reiner told Eren that in the belief that Eren would join their side and cause due to him being a fellow titan shifter.
It back fired at Reiner because Eren firmly stated that he would consider them his enemies as Eren is affiliated with Paradis. This forced both Reiner and Bertholt to reveal their identities in front of the entire servery corps.
So yeah it was a bad decision on Reiners part as this reveal lead to their downfall by giving the humans of Paradis answers as to who their true foes were.

Lelouch using "if I told you to kill all the Japanese" as a command example when talking to Euphemia is by far one of the stupidest things I've seen in anime. Considering the fact C2 told him geass goes out of control the more you use. I'm sure he didn't think it would happen, but it's a poor choice of words, when you could have said a magnitude of other things.
I can't really blame Lelouch too much for that, because his Geass going out of control just... kind of happened, and it didn't make itself apparent until the last minute when Lelouch found out what happened.
Don't get me wrong, Lelouch has done some pretty dumb things, but I don't that right there constitutes as one of them since that was mostly outside his overall power.
I don't know about the last one: I think Light managing to get the true name from Ray Penber's fiance was a really idiotic move. Still I see why you chose this decision and I agree.

Well how was it dumb L already had suspicions on how Light killed so whether that happened or not L would have figured it out.
Naruto Can Kill Goku It’s dumb because while L had suspicions on how Light killed, he DIDN’T know Light’s general whereabouts. He even said that he was planning on sending the same broadcast to different cities and countries until they got a response, but he didn’t need to when Light offed the guy the second they played it in Japan...the very FIRST place the broadcast was played.
If Light hadn’t let his ego get the better of him, finding him would’ve been MUCH more difficult for L.

But your right I guess L wasn’t 100% sure. Also it wasn’t an Ego thing. How was Light supposed to know that was a fake. Or how was he supposed to know that the police force knew how he could kill. It’s not about ego he just saw L there the biggest threat to him and he killed him.

Also, even if Zero was the one that made it posibble for them to be the black knights and all their victories, they felt betrayed because he only used them, even Kallen was the only one to give him a chance but he said to her "you were only my best chess piece" (or something like that)
he only did that so she can feel betrayed. this way, she would have less attachment to him when he died.
