- Who was Ellen White, and why is she regarded as a prophet?
Are her teachings still relevant today? Do we really need to hear them if we have the Bible?

Why can't all Christians simply reject anything that was written after the bible, including Seventh Day Adventists Ellen White's writings? and the same goes for the Mormons and Joseph Smith, and the Roman Catholic Church.

The church has been covering for Ellen White for decades. When they proved she plagiarized all throughout "The Desire of Ages" they jumped through all kinds of hoops to defend it and then just tagged it with the "legalese "euphemism" literary borrowing.

Great video. Dr Knight is a great teacher. He taught me in 1979 on the book of Daniel at Andrews University. I agree with his position, and seek to study and exalt the scriptures.
I have read the entire Conflict Series, and seek to faithfully study the Bible now. Before I never read the Bible. I want to be a better Bible student also

But all of her visions are biblical. False prophets will say things that are contrary to the scriptures, and cause themselves to go wrong. But Ellen G White is different.

I really appreciate what Dr Knight said about the Compilations.
For many years we have been hearing about ‘Escaping to the Country’, and “Ellen White says…” and I eventually tackled someone who was always quoting her, so as to get more information. Suffice to say, the very little, ineffectual information that they gave me, led me to actually read the book Country Living for myself (with another church sister).
This isn’t a book! It’s a series of letters and articles written to inform and direct the SDAs in Battle Creek to relocate and the best type of location to look for.
Everything else is snatches of letters to people about other areas/countries that she had visited and had commented on, in passing.
I’m not saying that the book is unhelpful, but I am saying that it isn’t being marketed properly.
If there is an agreed impetus for us to get out of the cities, then, according to Sister White, we should be forming a community environment so that we can help each other. If we’re to live off the land, one person is not going to be able to grow (& farm) sufficient crops for a year. There needs to be a significant number of us to make it feasible, otherwise we’re STILL not going to be able to buy and sell when the time comes.
Additionally, schooling, childcare, supporting services will all be required. When we finished going through the book, I was left with the impression that Sister White was describing an Amish community (I don’t know if the Amish were around in her time) and that made perfect sense!!
If this is something to take seriously, then rather than individual families wandering off to live in isolated places, we should group together and relocate in an area that we can develop and cultivate to support the greater need.
I wonder - would this be a topic that you would be allowed to discuss? I’d be very interested in hearing more about it. A longer segment, perhaps in a panel discussion including someone from one of the Conferences, from the EGWhite foundation and a family who have already left the city and are sustaining themselves independently.
Who gave any woman authority? Secondly, how did Ellen White bring anyone into the unity of faith or the knowledge of Jesus? Third, Revelation makes it clear that the Revelation of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy! All true believers who have the revelation of Jesus have the spirit of prophecy....how would that be unique to any individual?

She has saved my life with her writings and brought me to Jesus, my true savior, and brought me to the Bible truth and the 7th day sabbath. Ellen White is very special, a true prophet. I am so glad this video wasn't about bashing her..the title made me think it might be at first..(the Vs. part) but it was very good. I am currently reading Acts of the Apostles (along side with my bible every day, I'm just using Ellen's books as a Bible study) and the Great Controversy. I am going to get this good Dr.'s book as I am very interested in it, and I am at the stage where he described..I am a bit of a nut, for what Ellen White says.. The problem with the Bible is you can nitpick through it and at times it's so vague that you can basically interpret it however you wish. It can be very gray at times
You need the leading of the Holy Spirit to understand the Bible . Without the true Spirit leading your read its impossible to understand properly

You are ignorant of church history. Justin Martyr and Ignatius write about second century Christians gathering on the first day of the week. Pentecost was a church service and it was a Sunday. You are a biblical fool.

The fact that the Sabbath is on Saturday cancels out 95% of Christian denominations. There's no church that directly follows Bible teachings like SDAs.

you didn't understand the concept of the Sabbath, it's a day of rest, not of worship. so, on Sabbath a true Christian denomination rests, but doesn't hold church services.
@@rahelhorvat1471 and where in the Bible does it say that. In Luke 4:16, we are told that it was Jesus' custom to go to the synagogue for service on the Sabbath which is on Saturday. To say that it's only a day of rest is kinda arguing like the pharisees but only pushing it further to say that church service shouldn't also be on the Sabbath because of rest.

Luke 4:16 says that it was Jesus's custom to go into the synagogue to read on Sabbath day (it doesn't say anywhere it was a commanded day of worship), throughout the Bible it says that Jesus did many things on Sabbath, to prove to the Pharisees who observed Sabbath religiously as now SDA or Jewish people do that many things can be done on Sabbath, such as for example healing, emergencies, etc., but in Genesis, it clearly states God created the earth and blessed the 7th day on which He rested, not which He worshipped.

What about all of her false prophecies and all her basic theological issues?
Some people take her writing out of context and arrive at conclusions like "Jesus wasn't the Lord God" "she said that England was going to attack America during the Civil War" and stuff like this. The best way to test a spirit is to real their claims knowing and reading the context, knowing their fruits and comparing them to the bible. I suggest you to do this, I cannot force you to believe her, I just suggest to read some of her books like The Desire of ages and Steps to Christ, to watch this video about Ellen G. @@g.c.2844 I did a study on her and she failed by God's instruction. Ellen is the idol of the seventh day Adventists. I prove this in my study which I will post after work today (Australian time). I used to go to an SDA church but got out of it because of the idolatry of Ellen White. As for her false prophecies, they are in context, it's the occultists who try make excuses for her false prophecies by attempting to change the context. A false prophecy is a false prophecy.

The best book I have seen on Ellen White is "The White Lie" by Walter T Rea. It is very good.
However all one needs to do is compare her writing's to Scripture to get the answer.
The Bible promotes drinking alcohol for health. (Even Christ's first miracle was turning the water into wine). While Ellen White taught against alcohol.
The Bible promotes eating meat. In the Old Testament the priests not only ate the meat off of the altar but fed their entire households with meat off of the altar. One reason is that, the priests needed to be healthy, after all it was included in his job to inspect lepers etc. While Ellen White taught the opposite (vegetarianism). Of course today most are not worried about eating healthy, because they have drugs, doctors and hospitals to prop up their health.
Churches should promote truth from the Scripture, not increased business for the medical field.

Here Daniel afflicted himself by not eating meat or wine for 3 weeks, meaning he did eat meat and drink wine before those 3 weeks and after those 3 weeks.
The reason Daniel refused the kings meat was because it was unclean meats such as pork.The reason Daniel refused the kings wine, was because the wine skins which the kings wine was fermented in, was made from the unclean animals skins where the kings unclean meats came from.
The reason Daniel was 10 times smarter was because he didn't get all the parasites etc. from the unclean meats like the rest did.

There were enough scriptures given for you to verify that SDA pet doctrines are false. The Lord gave the WARNING because heresy is damnable. SDA trains its members to be wannabe Jews living under Old Testament abrogated laws. They are under a curse for trying to pull people into the old Jewish system. Judaizers preach another gospel and therefore are accursed(Galatians 1:6-9). They have you living in the Old Testament types and shadows that Jesus has fulfilled by being the substance and reality. For example, the Sabbath required two lambs to be sacrificed by a Levitical priest in Numbers 28:9,10. So you want to keep the Sabbath? Then where's your lambs and Levitical priest?
The lamb of God abolished all that having died once for all and BECAME OUR REST.
Circumcision in Genesis 17 was an everlasting covenant, and the same thing was said about the Sabbath. But Jesus came and brought a New Covenant that supercedes the Old.
The Sabbath keeping Jews in the wilderness died because of UNBELIEF. Hebrews was written as a warning to Jews in particular not to lapse or go back into the Old Testament abolished system. The writer of Hebrews says that to do so would be to go back into perdition. This is what Adventists have done going back to the Old Testament Jewish Sabbath given only to Israel that has nothing to do with the gentiles and the gospel. This is perhaps what Jesus meant when he told someone: "She [Ellen White] also taught her members to keep the Sabbath, stepping on My grace. Whoever wants to live in the law will have to save himself from it without committing any sin like Me. All the sects that reject My grace stare down the contract of the New Covenant. Whoever lives in the contract of the Old Covenant will be cursed and go to hell." This is frightening, yet some Adventists still go on their merry way and ignore the warning, and attack the messenger.
James and Ellen White were grifters who sold copies of Ellen's visions at camp meetings and through the mail. She had a vision of tall, majestic people living on either Jupiter or Saturn. Someone called her a crazy woman.
SDA sing the songs and hymns written by the "Sunday meeters." They use the praise and worship music of the people that they basically condemn who are taking the mark of the beast for going to church on the first day of the week, the day Jesus rose from the dead. It is apparent that the Adventists are in a Babylon world of confusion of their own. By the way, there are no Sunday keepers. There is liberty in Christ regarding days in Romans 14.

Three years ago the Lord Jesus said, "Go to the phone book and call Adventist churches" because He said no one was reaching out to them. I then said, they're good people. Then He said, they believe lies. My response was that they say that God answers prayer on their television and radio programs. He said, they deceive themselves.
It seems that they are convinced Ellen White was a prophet and that her claims are true. People have placed her words above Scripture. False doctrines are lies and you know that heresy is a work of the flesh as declared in Galatians chapter 5. Heretics do not inherit the kingdom of God. So this is a serious matter. I became familiar with the Adventists starting in 1974 when a colporteur came to the door. He said things like, do we keep nine commandments or all ten? I was unprepared for a debate, but I never once was convicted for not going to church on Saturday.
