so what? before he played in europe. champions league games start around 2 o'clock in the morning in india. cant see any substantial difference, other than that you can actually plan to get quite some sleep if you go to bed early now. before one had to stay up and suffer a very very short night afterwards.

Those who expect Messi to have a lot of presence in American media don't know Messi at all. He didn't even have it in Spain when he was 100% growing his career. That's not who he is. And he is in the MLS to enjoy playing with less stress for his last few years. He isn't there to work for others. Only to play football.
he's not a media guy to be sure but I think u got him a bit wrong here...he wouldn't have gone there if he just wanted to play football...cuz not only could he have gone to barca but going to the US used to being one of the few places where he relatively had a quiet life, well not anymore! Messi went there partially with the potential of having the legacy to finally make soccer a thing in the US....nothing he could do at Barcelona or anywhere would've come close to achieving such a thing.

I live in the third world. My mom is illiterate and she barely watches TV. Back when Messi was in Barca we used to watch together when Barca played at 6 PM or 7 PM.
