I have a ‘91 Trooper and paid $2500 for it. A month later went on a 3000 mile road trip and it was amazing. Even went to Moab and did some level 4 trails with no issues.

Ours is constantly impressing us. We've had it for about 4 and a half years!

I have a 1991 Trooper that always needs stuff done to it. I'm not really a mechanic, but I do it all myself anyway. That said, it's great to watch someone do things I need to do. Thanks for the training video!

The 2.8 V6 is a GM engine using readily available GM parts & accessories. AKA Chevy S10. This engine was used in many GM vehicles, & even jeeps, All using Standard over the counter GM accessories, TBI & ECU... Try to get ANY 4cyl Isuzu parts at your local Auto Zone or Napa. Mine has 191000 miles and still runs Quiet, smooth & Revs happily to 5500. Power Tip, Rod out the Cat & add Cat Back free flow exhaust. Then a high flow air filter & it will spin 31x 10.50 - 15's .( my clutch dampner is weak, so chirping those big tires on asphault is easy) Or, When that 2.8 is worn out, Stroke it to a 3.1 or 3.2 with over the counter GM parts.. Options that you just Don't have with an Isuzu 4 cylinder. Just Sharing PS, Good luck finding a V6 5 speed for sale.

I'm glad to hear this about the 2.8!
So far the 2.6 has been great to me, and finding parts isn't too bad, but I could definitely see the GM V6 being better for parts availability.

My neighbor has the 2.6, updated head with a webber, Spun a bearing. the price of a new crank followed by the machine work exceeds vehicle value & his pay check.Too bad, it is a 86 three door..@@skidroseracing

Just a note. Both the 4 & 6 cyl are near indistructable. The V6 with stock restrictive exhaust has no bottom end torque, giving the 4 cyl, the upper hand. However, Let that V6 breath easy & it's a new ball game. In low range it feels like a V8.. I only chose the V6 because in my area, 4 cyl parts are hens Teeth. Plus, The gm tbi & ecu are far more reliable than what came on the Isuzu 4 cyl. I have respect for All running Troopers. Drive & enjoy. I bought my V6 ONLY because it ran & drove Perfect. Too bad it lived outside its whole life & now looks its age, Sad

@@tracydoane4261 After hearing this, I'd definitely give a GM V6 Trooper a shot if I find myself in the market for another one.
      Thanks for the info!

Those of us with the V6 5speed combo do not part with them. The drivability of the v6 trooper, funfactor & highway hill climbing speed Made me sell my 4x4 Toyota. PS, my daily is a 66 C10 panel delivery 4x4 restomod. My spare is the Trooper. The panel lives outside, The Trooper sleeps in my garage Rebuilt & ready. @@skidroseracing

Do you know of any places that have parts for these, as far as hard to find parts? I have an 89 and can’t find rear taillight assembly. Also awesome video, really nice to see some Trooper action. Keep the videos coming. 👍

5 years I looked for a 1st gen V6 with a 5 speed. Found one near Spokane Wa, In 2020. Ugly. but complete.. Bought it, Did a bumper to bumper running gear overhaul. Still looking for another one just because. Fun driving 4X4 Go Kart. In 5 years, This is Still the only one I've found. Good Luck
