- 5 or more places to hide an Airtag on a bike.
Reflector - pt.aliexpress.com/item/100500...
Topcap - pt.aliexpress.com/item/100500...
Bottle Mount - pt.aliexpress.com/item/100500...
Adhesive Mount - pt.aliexpress.com/item/100500...
Bike Bell - pt.aliexpress.com/item/100500... - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Bell is definitely the most inconspicuous and therefore the best option. I like that it hides the airtag in plain sight and doesn't look like something that is purely there to hold an airtag, which would always stick out like a sore thumb.
Yes the bell is the best one for me.
@@jaselikesbikes I made a small cut in my seat and pushed it in there, i feel like thief's are getting smarter and most people online (YT , Reddit) are talking about the Bell for an air tag, i am assuming thief's read that too. However nice video!
@@kevindrykjja2959 nice, I think that would work on some seats. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Covering it with metal bell will decrease the BLE range by 50% probably so it will be even more useless than it already is...
Better to use a screw than isn't conventional, some screws like star, or one where you would need a special tool to remove it.
Very true, I like that idea.
I do that. And also fill the screw head with black epoxy to conceal the screw head pattern and make it more time consuming to remove.
Very good and descriptive video. Thanks for buying and assembling all the parts, it was much more informative. Keep up the great work. :)
Thanks!
Just found this video when I was looking for ideas. These decoys are such a good idea. I was first thinking of hiding it inside the frame but the signal may not be that good.
Yes I guess none are prefect but there are a few places like the bell and reflector which are less obvoius.
@@jaselikesbikes thanks for the video now I can easily remove the tracking after I stole a a bike❤
Joking😂
🙂@@Inventor1488
Helpful video and thank you. On my eBike I've got two, one is under my seat and the other one is locked inside of the battery housing. I agree, one is in an obvious location and the other is not...
Good idea with it in the battery housing.
@@jaselikesbikes .. Keep in mind you either need a plastic battery housing or a carbon fiber frame so the Bluetooth signal can be transmitted and not blocked essentially in a Faraday cage.
@@DJaquithFL great point.
Thanks for the video. It would have been good to see how far away the AirTag signal could reach with each option.
Thanks. I wish I had thought of that!
There's one I found called Bikebac, it's a complete tracker and the same price of an airtag.
I might have to have a look at that!
I'm interested, but their website seems to indicate it only works with Apple products. Do you know if it would work with Android as well, since Airtags now work with Android too?
I saw tubeless valves where the AirTag was inside the tyre
Yes, I have seen the ones from Mucoff. They are indeed well hidden, but it would be interesting to know how easy they are to install as well as how messy they are.
Alternatively there’s the Muc-off tubeless AirTag mount that goes inside the rear tyre…. You do have to go tubeless and have 44mm + width tyres.
Yes I have seen that but I am not convinced by the location. It might be a bif mess and a bit fiddly.
I wonder if the bell type would work well, as the AirTag is surrounded by metal which may block the signal.
We still have it on the bike and it seems to work ok.
A question - do they transmit from inside various frames ?carbon versus alloy?
Yes pretty sure they do although I think k the signal might be a bit weaker the more that you bury it.
Not as well. For best results it needs to be outside the bike. Encased inside metal like that bell will limit the distance it transmits.
No , if you put inside to frame is not working 😢
Can you try to make a video that some friends your bike steals to somewhere and that you can try to find it
Might be a good idea, Thanks
The bell is a great idea - wouldn't the metal reduce the signal strength?
Possibly but the metal is quite
thin. Either way the bell is actually a good sounding bell.
This video can also be called „5 places to look for Apple AirTag”
Very true.
"A Pozidrive Phillips screwdriver". A crosshead screwdriver is either Pozidrive, or Philllips (Or JIS), not both standards at the same time.
Awesome thanks.
The seat options don't make any sense to me. One person steals the seat, and another person steals the bike. You chase them down only to recover your seat and your bike is long gone.
Very true! I think it is better on the frame somewhere.
@@jaselikesbikes Thanks for the quick response! I totally agree that the decoy airtag idea is a great one. Could probably buy a bunch of dead airtags cheap and use them as decoys on mulitple devices. The thief thinks they've thrown away the tracker and have a false sense of security.
Muc off do one that fits inside the tubeless valve
I have seen that one, not too sure about it though. It seems fiddly.
@@jaselikesbikes I would like to see how it does with the sealant and high speed rotation
@@thepainterdude1 me too!
What’s the point when it alerts the thief there is an Airtag if he has an iPhone.
You could take the speaker out of the tag which would help.
We tried the sticky one under our seats but both fell off quite quickly.
Yes I can imagine just the sticky under the seat might do that. At least you would have been able to find it 🙂
Don’t AirTags start emitting a sound once they’re a certain distance from your device? The thief will hear it and find it quickly. Just asking before I buy one. Thanks!
Yes they will if you activate the sound from your phone but you can take the speaker out if you want.
i think the phone may send a notification if the air tag goes more than a certain distance. But I have never heard that the air tag will automatically sound if the phone goes more than a certain distance.
i have an idea.. crazy glue with lots of glue the container shut... airtag lasts 18 months on charge... to recharge airtag just bike another container and crack the sealed one open... thief would not know. maybe they throw away in their garbage if thought it was airtag.. make it as stealthy as possible and not revealing airtag. glued inside tubeless tires??? or if you have a fat cushy seat. inside padding. put 2 on your bike. one easy to find the other very hard to find. thief may not expect you to have 2???
Sounds like it might just work.
Seems pretty obvious when there are two reflectors. I'd remove the original one and put the Airtag one in it's place.
Yes agreed, me too.
you should never mount your airtag outside it will become totally point less , you need to think as a bike thief , so you need to hide your airtag INSIDE YOUR BIKE yes inside
you should hide it inside your bike, "INSIDE" your bicycle frame , FORK, seat post , unscrew your saddle and put it inside your bicycle saddle , inside handle bar remember "INSIDE" just make sure it stay hidden ,I manage to put 4 apple airtag and 2 momax Pintag "INSIDE MY BIKE " total six air tag I gotta say im very impress with the result
it help track my bike within 3 hours after it got stolen last week and call police to help recover my bike within 5 hours it got stolen , and catch the thief
I would say that it sounds like overkill, but it absolutely worked for you. Nice job.
@@jaselikesbikes it good to be over kill than sorry 🤣 bike thief here in HK is a bit annoying i use my bike as deliveroo work 17 hours a day so it better to be safer 🤣
Jeeez, I bet it is! @@kennethcampingdiary1976
Just have to hope the thieves don't have iPhones or it will tell them about the AirTag "following" them.
Yes that is the big downfall with it but hopefully it will slow them down or make them think twice.
You can try to remove the airtag speaker to reduce that chance
Yes I did mention that in the video. Always a good idea, althopugh you can damage the Airtag.@@kennethcampingdiary1976
The recent updates have made Apple AirTag useless as it warns the criminal on there device and plays a sound on tag (unless removed).
I removed the speaker on my AirTag and it was fairly easy
What if the thieves were to watch this video?
Well it will at least slow them down a bit or make them think that stealing a bike isn't a great idea 🙂
they are watching
What's the point of cases like this .. This can easy be found and removed by thiefs.. Show us smarter places to put it. Inside handlebar - inside frame - inside crank - inside tires etc and so on.
Cases? I did mention a few of those places. A thief will find it purely from The apple App. If they have an iphone they will get a notification that an unknown airtag is with them. These devices just might buy some time if a thief has taken it. Yes they are far s=from perfect but if your put 2 in there even better.
Yeah, maybe only topcap makes sense, the rest of them useless. Inside frame, hub, crank, fork - these are way harder to find or remove. Not to mention, you should place at least two AirTags on your bike.
Agreed@@darkarchon78 ;-)
You can’t put it inside the frame - the metal blocks the signal
You have a point!@@speedbird8987
Anyone tried to duct tape one to under the inner tube where it sits on the wheel …???
Stick tyre back on and there you go………???
Sounds messy but might just work.
*Bike thieves taking notes*
That is fine, it might take longer for them to find it that to steal the bike. The alert only goes off if they go to somehwere they frequent like home. So you will know where they are or discarded the airtag.
The idea is to increase the chances of recovering your bike. Anyone that needs to steal a bike is obviously not that smart so the chances of recovery are good.
Agreed @@MucaroBoricua great comment.
It does make any difference because AirTags have an anti-stalking feature.
Watch GP Lama's video on his take on Ait tags and he knows his stuff. It is the last chapter, 8:45
czcams.com/video/rxnuUpUrMBU/video.html
I open my AirTags and disconnect their buzzers. That way the robbers don't get alerted. If necessary, the buzzers can be easily reconnected with a soldering iron.
@@MucaroBoricua you mean they will not hear a sound, but they will still get alerted on their iphone screen ;)
Disliked the video just because of the constant ringing of that f bell
H ah, sorry to "hear" it 🙂
