  • In the last video I got started on the carpentry work, which there's still another video to come for. But this week a new mission set in - to get the van prepped and painted ahead of our two week holiday. When we returned home it would be well into winter, with the opportunities for outdoor painting significantly reduced.
    Full confession: this is my first time painting a vehicle, but with plenty of research completed and a long chat with some professional friends, I was ready.
    Hopefully you'll find a few helpful tips along the way in this video.

    The vehicle is not yet for sale - but that will be coming up soon. For any queries please contact me at livinginkevlar@gmail.com!

    I had the same idea in my head for the color, and the painting technique. Wise choice, well done!

      Thanks! I'm really happy with how it came out. I can't lie to you though, it was a long process to get all the detail and the coats on, good luck mate! Feel free to ask if you have any questions!

      Thankfully the garage is very much a shared mess, but yes, the car juggling every weekend for the driveway has been very real 😂😂

    Hi Mate, just watching you video on painting your caddy, what grade wet and dry did you use

      This was a long time ago now but I believe you don’t want to go any higher then 120 however what I learnt was you just need to take the shine off the paint work so a green scotch pad does the job a lot better 👍🏼

    Well done! Have you painted your car with a roller?!

    • @livinginkevlar
      @livinginkevlar  Před rokem +1

      Thank you! Yes, she's totally hand painted - a mix of the roller and various brushes. The effect is perfect, very happy with how it's turned out!

    Amazing color, love the matte green! Congrats for taking on this job, it’s so much more work than it looks like! I only re-painted the sliding door from the inside to match the painted walls… never again tho🥲

      Thank you, we love the matte green far more than we expected to, it really suits the van! You're so right about it being so much work than it looks like... we KNEW it would be a big job, but damn, it's far bigger than that haha!
