  • It is a little daunting taking a boat out on your own for the first time, in this video I do just that! The 24 year old boat I renovated still has a few problems.

    Little tip with your backup engine mate . Run the in a fixed straight line and use the main engine as a rudder . Save u sitting over the stern

      @@AirbornePirates it works well mate when i used to give my backup a run somtimes i just tightened the tiller so it would stay fixed and tried steering the main engine as rudder and it worked great mate. That was on my warrior out in morcambe bay 👍🏻

    Mate l rmmbr going to check it out at the yard, you've been busy!!
    60horse is plenty & the little Merc to troll with is a cracker! Dunno if youve got oars or not, me & a mate broke down & rowed about 11-12km in the dark, past 4 reefs..long yarn, but lm glad we had oars!
    Well done man.

    I spoke with Manx Utilities mate, you are OK to flush the engine. Washing for cosmetic purposes is another thing altogether, but for maintaining your engine - you're good!

    How jealous am I that you live with that view? 100% lol.
    That bay looked so serene. Great seeing you out on the water taking Charlie Buoy for a ride. However you had me sold when you mentioned exploring a shipwreck! I can't wait to see that footage if you show it.

    Appreciate you are only just getting set up with the boat, a vid on general costs would be great. Mooring fees, potential fuel costs and any licence costs 👍

      Mooring costs £400 per year 👌 I don’t have any licenses 👌 insurance £80 p year for boat

      @@AirbornePirates You don't need a boat licence? They (govt) brang it in the late 70s $2 per yr..fine.
      Now you need lessons, boat gets a rego no...safety evidently, revenue more likely. Then if you wanna dive with tanks!!!

      @@AirbornePirates Naa mate, Australia.
      Used to be able to do what you wanted, lve always lived near the beach & was always in the water, spearing catching dinner etc. Slowly but surely in it all come.
      Dad was a deisel fitter, made his own tanks, made a filling station out in the shed (too far away to get em filled every wk). Saw plenty of dead Noah's, caught for their teeth & chucked back in.
      A Right Whale had died & attracted a school of big dogs (little 8-9ftrs too) but blokes turned up in boats & hopped on the whale, While these things are having a picnic.
      Rapid Heads SA 20-25yr ago..try have search, some of the footage is scary.
      TV stations said a few New Australians had been fined for climbing on the whale, lucky they weren't Temporary Australians!
      Hope this licences for everything doesn't creep in over there.

    Good looking craft,... congrats. Quick observation though,... having a mate on his Seadoo "hooning about" whilst you're hunting is probably not a great help. 🙂
    I'll admit, I also have my own years of hooning about... It's fun, but it's got a very limited life.

      @@AirbornePirates Thanks for the reply, that’s quite some distance. If the Great Whites venture to the UK, I think there’s a very good chance they’ll be somewhere off the western coast of Scotland. It’d be interesting to see you take the boat up in that direction, beautiful coast.

    Just found your channel as was searching 12v wiring videos.. You have some great content.
    Would it not be better to locate your aux outboard on port side, to counter balance 1 person on the helm ? Just a thought..
    Good job on the refit of the Warrior though.

      Yes Carl I would totally agree with that, much better on the port side, in fact most of the warriors in my harbour have them on that side
