That bike looks like a "wallhanger", the type that was fairly common in the 70,s and 80,s ...generally in a themed restaurant or roadhouse.
Correct.
He is lucky the engine case and transmission have any parts inside them at all. Piece it back out and lesson learned. I used to find bikes like this in flea markets. I could tell they were pieced together fake bikes. Usually, they had cracked cases or a major issue.
I would agree with you by my first impression. Looks like a wall display I was looking at in an "Old Navy" a month ago.
It would be cool if they could get it running, not to restore but just a running bike to ride around for antique bike rallies.
great times 🤗
There is something so calming about Matt. I love the way he explains stuff and goes through the bike. His beard is fantastic too!
Couldn't agree more!
I thank God for blessing me and my family $11,500 weekly profit is something I would never dream of. God is good.
@@bradcohen7330 I’m also trying to figure someway out to increase my financial status. Please how is that possible?
I also want to gain financial freedom, how is that possible?
Edibles. Lol
Obviously Mecum doesn't employ any bike experts to authenticate potential inventory. That's called "Misrepresentation of sale". If you aren't given appropriate time to do your own due diligence with an expert, pass on the sale.
That's called Buyer Beware.
If you are foolish enough to bid 13 grand on something that you know nothing about, you can't blame the auction.
@kurtfoulke5130 I can blame the auction because I spent 22 years working at one of the world's largest auto auction companies. That sort Bait and Switch isn't good business. The company I worked for didn't allow that sort of thing to happen. If a sale was made and it was proven the vehicle sold was "Misrepresented" at the time of sale the transaction would have been voided and proceeds returned to the buyer. That's just good business. You don't allow the good name of the company to be brought down over a few thousand dollars.
@bernardowens1648 Nothing was misrepresented - It's just Shawn creating drama.
@@kurtfoulke5130 Presented for sale as a "1929 Harley" with no documentation and a hodgepodge parts list of everything except 29' Harley parts, some of which were "faux" parts.
@@bernardowens1648show me the Mecum Auction description of this item, stop assuming Shawn is being honest.
Matt is an encyclopedia and Harley Google combined.
yeah he is its amazing
@@BikesandBeards Totally agree...every video with Matt is a Must Watch! I learn so much from him and he seems like a really good dude too!
He really is and I was thinking the exact same thing.
And a great narrator. And too polite to not let his time be wasted by a type like srk.
Third generation knowledge at that
Bring bike to shop to inspect on lift. Puts bike on lift, crouches around bike with flashlights and NOT using lift
Lol you didn’t watch the whole video did you?
Lmao I just got to this part too 😂
@@M.TTT. 🤣🤣🤣
Wheels Through Time is a must see for any MC enthusiast. The volume of old stuff is amazing. And Maggie Valley NC is a beautiful little village.
Haven't been there but I intend to go even if I have to go by myself , don't think the wife would want to go there . Lol
@@051570orionHave you considered trading her in on a new model that actually enjoys doing the same things as you? 😂
You bought a 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 , 18 , 19. Johnny Cash motorcycle Cadillac .
❤ you man 🤪
"Everything is coming up Milhouse" is awesome 👍💯
Buddy they parted out the bike and sold you Frankensteins skin..
They can't be bothered to do that, owners submit it for auction, put a minimum price or not, sold as is without guarantee, the auction takes its %. End of story.
I can listen to Matt all day long. Love it when you visit him. And your WLDR looks amazing! I can't wait for you to walk us through it.
Looking forward to watching this when I get home. Bikes & Beards inspired me to get a motorcycle. Thanks buddy!
That 1914, though! I can't imagine going over 100 mph on that thing...
Love the wheels thru time collaboration!!!😊❤
Have a blessed day everyone. Ride safe!
Don't have a motorcycle. Never have, probably never will. But I still enjoy these videos.
Been watching your channel since the start of lockdown, and I love the content you make, and I don’t even ride! Looking forward to what you do next.
I love dude's honesty as y'all went through the parts.
Shawn, Matt, Craig and Dan are my favorite people on the internet 💪
That is just sad 😢
"Where else would the baby sit? You can't strap them to the sissy bar anymore, people frown on that."
Matt's humor is great. Always a great video when you go to see Matt.
You creating subtitles for the deaf?
@@IceTTom No, I'm quoting something from the video to add context to my comment.
Another cool video always enjoy the content really like when you and Matt hangout never disappointed. Have a good day and stay safe Jimmy from North Attleboro Mass.
Absolutely love the wheels through time collections!! Honestly in the antique motorcycle world probably on the far cheaper side for some knowledge at 13k. Great video!
🤣🤣 lol almost had me on the start up hahah great vids thank you 🙏
love these episode with Matt. He Spews knowledge !!! a true Maestro of his "craft"
It was great meeting both of you guys last Monday I thoroughly enjoyed talking to you ❤️ Sean I was the guy with the Pennzoil Fatboy that Matt thinks Dale painted that wants to donate it to the museum
How is that despite not being a bike rider/enthusiast, or someone who is from your part of the world, I find your restoration vids fascinating? The skills and talent (and history) on display is so interesting to me. Keep up the good work.❤
As a restorer, I understand how much time and money you need to devote to getting this motorcycle in order. I've worked on several vintage Harleys. The oldest motorcycle I rode was a German Victoria from 1927. Currently working on a 1913 Wanderer. Good luck!
Matt is one of the coolest, calmest guys you'll ever meet
I live on a farm, only rode three and four wheelers my whole life,I appreciate the beauty and history of motorcycles. I love your channel!
You've got to add 2 wheelers to your to your skill set :)
Old school bikes, old school ways, never gets old and I'm pretty sure Matt knows what I'm talking about😊
Just seeing two of my favorite Harley people together makes this video super cool.
The coolest thing about wheels through time is the bikes still run and drive.
Hell yeah Bikes and Beards!! I'm in the process of growing back my fuzz
loved it man great vid
Great stuff! Bonus is a look behind the scenes at Wheels Through Time. A great museum.
Love your content man. Just had some family move to Columbia. Will have to come up some time.
That shot with you starting the bike was awesome. I was like NO Way😂 then you panned out
I just want to let you know that I recently subscribed and have watched all your videos. I enjoy your content and as a new rider I have learned a lot from watching and picked up some good habits that may have saved my life. I was in an accident earlier today and came out with minor injuries thanks to some of the habits I have picked up from watching your videos. I see you put on a jacket and a helmet everytime you go out on the road and that has rubbed off on me so I started doing it as well. Also your faith in god has been a great inspiration that caused me to start praying and being thankful again more than I have been. Unfortunately my bike was totaled and it was a hit and run. A guy in a white work van ran a stop sign and I tried to avoid him but there wasn’t enough time to react. I hit his rear quarter panel at around 50mph and was thrown and rolled down the state route I was on. He never slowed down on checked to see if I was ok or even alive for that matter. The sheriff said the probably won’t be able to find him. So I ended up injured and without a bike. Gods hand must’ve been over me and kept me safe enough to limp away. Keep doing what you are doing it’s informational and inspiring to newer riders.
Thank God.😮
i ve been down enough times to know that you always need to be ready
I'm going to agree with some others and say it was likely a display piece at a business or outside some enthusiasts house. If it was just a quick attempt at auction bait I doubt they would have cared to stop it from rusting.
That production quality! This is TV show level!!!!
I could just sit and listen to this guy stories. It’s nice to see a younger dude like that with that much knowledge about Harleys.
It was a great surprise bumping into you at Wheels through Time last week. I appreciate you and Matt taking a few minutes to talk to me (I am the big guy from Iowa that was talking to you about the Road Dog). I have enjoyed your channels for quite a while.
That 1914 is jaw dropping. I'm not even a bike guy.
I liked the video of you and Kendall, good job man!
I was gutted when you moved because i love the dynamics between you and craig but, now craig has a channel too it almost the best of both worlds!
2 very different but also very similar!
Craigs videos are more mechanical and informative (not that i dont learn anything from you!).
And your channel is more riding and biker lifestyle stuff.
Both are equally awesome, entertaining and informative and, when you guys team up every now and then, thats when the real magic happens!😂
Thank you ❤
I love this channel so much im a 43 year old single dad and i this channel has inspired me to to get my first motorcycle i am working hard to save up to try and buy one im thinkg like a honda shadow those seem cheap and able to get i am so excited and thankful to this channel for giving me the courage on this journey when i get one i will send a pic of the new baby to your email to show you what i get !!! will be a bit but one day!! ill be riding !!
Dude is an encyclopedia, i love listening to knowledge and stories from guys who live and breathe whatever they're interested in, even if im not interested myself
If there was one person to take the bike to and especially to fix up, it is Matt. His Dad taught him a lifetime of knowledge. I do miss Dale. I am not a bike guy, but this old stuff keeps me interested...
My neighbor purchased an old 500 triumph, that used to sit in a store window here in downtown Birmingham… it was missing a lot of internal parts and he never did get it running.. he sold it about a month ago to somebody down in Louisiana who is going to try to get it to run… you “ 29” Looks like a bike you might find at Cracker Barrel…on display… I hope you do get it running…👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Or sitting inside as a display in a small motorcycle shop …good luck ..👍🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
The knowledge and talents of Matt are incredible and awesome.
That dude probably knows more stuff about classic American bikes than anyone.
He's the Rainman of Motorcycles.
I love watching "experts" talking about their loves....It can be about anything bikes, furniture etc....I once watched a 90 minute video with a barbwire collector.
Same for me.
Anyone totally snowed-in on a subject use to be facinating to listen to.
Reminds me of the time a friend found a 1916 Indian Powerplus, literally a barn find in a little township in New Brunswick. 13,000, you couldn't lose. I would do a teardown to check engine internals. If you find enough parts that are good, I would collect enough parts to get it running. Not restore it. This is my initial thought before I finish the video. Now to continue on with the video.... :)
I just love your tanks especially your haps and your hawk is beyond awesome . I recently got a 7cm hawk and 4cm trout they are in a 3×2×2 grow out tank atm and growing quickly they will be transfered to the 6×2×2 in time.
I was there last Monday. I walked past the WLDR and thought man that looks a lot like Sean’s bike. 🤦🏻♂️
"he wouldn't have called us if it wasn't old".... Facts💪
Every time I see a video especially yours because A you love Harleys and that you are a mechanic. I had a friend many years ago Bruce Burns from South New Jersey area. Bruce was a special guy because he was a deaf mute. He could hold his face to a car truck or motorcycle and tell you via his wife or daughter translating the words to you. Bruce could diagnose the problem tell you exactly what parts you need to buy. And then 99.99999% of the time Bruce would fix your problems for free. Him his wife Nancy and the daughter Trisha were all like family to me
Nice video Sean.. I really thought you guys got that bike started..
Keep well and keep twisting that wrist..
Looks like a shop or restaurant show piece
So awesome!! I live in Jersey but my bucket list has wheels through time on it
You should!
Very cool. Thanks for sharing……!
Tennessee here in the chat... Just West of Knoxville. Nice job representing with that shirt good sir
Yes your WLDR does look amazing !!! And I'm not even. Harley man .
Isn't the Rajah jump seat for when you have a passenger? Certainly, that's what I've seen in photos with the rider forward on the jump and the passenger on the main seat.
25:34 kicks three times…and says one kick 🤣🤣🤣
Old bikes are so cool!
Your channel along with bearded mechanic and wheels through time are three of my favorite CZcams channels. Everyone should go to Wheels through Time at least once a year. Amazing place!!! I don’t even have a motorcycle!
Congrats on your first HOG man. Great shot.
He just seems like an overall good dude with a wealth of knowledge beyond what I'm able to fathom.
I could listen to Matt read a phone book I'd love a look in his parts stash
Every year in a small village in the UK called kinlochleven their is a dirt bike trial even called the pre 65s, which is for old dirt bikes (mainly British) from before 1965, some of the people their do sell bikes as well.
Everything is coming up Millhouse!
Love when you two get together. Now all you need is Graig! Thank you for the bible verse. When will you have an open house/meet and greet?
Looking over my original Harley-Davidson factory literature collection, I see no "29JX" marked motor mentioned anywhere -- only 29J, JL, JD, JDH, JDF and JDL marked motors. Either the number is spurious (fake) or it is indeed uncommon and rare.
WOW...that WLDR looks great 👍...
😮it happens better luck next time love the content
i love your videos guys
There was a little bit of ASMR in the sound of that engine and revenge it up I'm talking about the very first bike that they fired in the beginning of the video at 10:20 when they fired up the engine and that engine sounded pretty damn good and the little bit of ASMR was a nice touch I m3an at keast for me cause it triggered my ASMR and gave me the tingle sensation when listening to part kf the engine especially when he revved it up it really triggered my ASMR and I am so glad that I am a perrin that is able to experience ASMR because some ppl have it and some ppl don't have ASMR.
I listen to ASMR every night to fall asleep.
Another great video.
By chance did you get that in Nevada because I started looking to find one and their is yours on your episode made me smile
You might want to do a facetime with Matt, next time before you buy.
Looks like you bought a prop for a theme restaurant. Something you put on a shelf for display. There's restaurants that pay more for that prop than motorcyclists do.
Name one.
@@CaptainCraigKWMRZ Portillos,
This is a link for a 1915 or 1917 bike for sale. It expensive and rare. Thought it would be worthy of a look by you.
You got a really nice trim on the beard in this video 👍
I have a video for you to consider: order and review one of those $1k-minibikes from Ali that look like the one made (originally by Brent Walter I believe) like a Beetle fender with two wheels
Cheers
I miss you being around as often Sean, Even with all of your Jesus. Never get tired of your videos
I’m building an 1946 Harley Davidson 45WR where did you get the tailpipe for the racer you just took home
That black one is a sweet bike and sounds like a hotrod!
Maybe it was put together to be shown in some motorcycle shop as just something to look at but not real closely. Pleanty of Harley dealerships have old bikes on platforms above the reach of customers as just bikes to exhibit a feeling of nostalgia.
Ol Matt was pretty interested in some of them parts.. bargaining chip.
You should come over and do a video on my 2023 Honda SCL500 Scrambler I am in the Nashville area.
I like how he keeps the hidden gems in the "Radioactive" trailer. He's like now everyone stay out of the Radioactive trailer. If I catch you in there I promise it will be detrimental to your health. Lol
Yeah, for Matt's sake, I wish they hadn't included any exterior footage on those trailers. Hope WTT has good security.
@@454Burban right that's so true.
Next time take Matt with you to the auction...
Great idea
Respect to Matt, an honest mechanic. "The seat is $1000, but if i were you, i wouldn't buy it."
That 14 bike is so sweet and could u imagine them ripping them back in the day 😮
with a leather "helmet" as well
At 100 mph. I’d be leaving a trail of pee.
You've got to give things a closer look before parting with the (many) greenbacks - a lesson learnt.
He has had too many hits by swinging at wild pitches. I think this is a needed wake up call to bring an expert in the loop when your bidding on expensive bikes at auction.
absolutely
Wow... live and learn
Thanks everyone
How many subscribers do you need to get Keanu Reeves on your channel with an ARCH bike? Let's make that happen! Love your content!
Matt is literally the coolest dude ever 😎
Somebody probably had that hung up at a bar. LOL!
I’ve only been to Dales place once. Well I guess Matt’s place now, I need to go back.
