Roy Keane was found out that game, if not before. A 'bottler" against real hard men. Man Utd too.
Imagine Roy Keane in a pub, or at the after match bar, with Duncan Ferguson and Vinnie Jones. Roy Keane gets "lippy".
It ain't no rocket science, what would happen to him.

The irony of Roy Keane's career is, in my opinion, he didn't need to be a thug on the pitch. He could've been remembered for so many other things than that.
He could run for days. He had a second to none "engine". He could pass. Not only the simple pass, he could pick out the "killer" pass. He could cross it, pick out the long ball. He was strong, could hold possession on the ball. Had a "welly" of a shot. Tactically sound, Positionally acute. Phenomenal leader.
There's no doubt Roy Keane had it all in the locker.
Alas, his "over the top" attitude and "lack of care and attention" in combative mode, towards fellow professionals, is what he will be remembered for.

@@alexhiggins4511 agreed. He may have had a welly of a shot but he didnt have the best shot accuracy did he? Many games i saw Keane shoot and he hit it into row Z. But not bad if that was his only weakness apart from being a bit of a thug.

Hawkeye Jim - Dunc Vs Souness ? That would be an interesting one coz they are both evenly matched in their dirty passion for blood and guts foul play. I would say that Big Dunc was more clumsy in his efforts to intimidate an opponent and paid little attention in trying to mask his filthy tackles whereas Souness was much more astute at hurting you without the ref being fully aware of what he was up to . I am inclined to agree with the previous comments on Souness being the slicker dirty fucker and Big D being an out and out clumsy red mist mo fo . So in weighing up the winner in a straightener, I can only see one winner because of his brutal strength both physical and mental prowess.
I can see Souness holding his own in the early rounds with his craftiness and trickery but gradually I would have to say that could be his undoing because it would wind Big Dunc up , anger him so much that he would probably dispatch Souness with a well-timed headbutt on that famous schnozzle of his . Pound for pound though this contest would be worth every penny and there would be plenty of fight fans eager to see these two well-matched gladiators go toe to toe...........Any other football legends past and present you would like to see go at it in the ring ?

Omg, this was war ! And I loved every second of it. Disgraceful , I know , but modern football with defenders with their hands on their backs and the constant interference by these , 5 cm off side with the tip of the sleeve of your shirt , VAR's sometimes bores me to tears . It was different once and how ! But seriously , these ManU guys should have been on the leash with muzzles . What an idiots ! And claiming they never " took " anything . Well , that was obvious. Lol and lmpo

Shit, Big Dunc was a loveable thug. However, people forget how United in the Fergie era was a pretty damn petulant, cynical, side. Nevertheless, great side, and it's amazing how much more physical the game was back in Keanes' era. Nowadays, they'd be rolling all over the ground.

Absolute travesty of a refereeing performance from Phil Dowd. G Neville's sending off an absolute joke, I mean if that's a sending off surely every time a striker who mishits a shot into the crowd they ran the risk of being sent off? In the lead up to Scholes's second yellow card, he was whacked 4 times by Everton players but the ref didn't see anything wrong, but as soon as Scholes whacked someone back he couldn't get his yellow card out fast enough.
