I am using a 2017 iPad Pro, and am looking forward to the M3 upgrade this year. It is my main machine and I do everything on it. I also love having an always on cellular connection.

The editing on this video rocks! I do not agree that the iPad should ever become a bona fide true computer replacement. Kit is designed as a touch first device, which was why it was made in the first place. I have seen others swearing up and down in their videos that if the iPad gets this or that feature, it then can be a true computer replacement. Perspective is in the eye of the beholder, but while it still can use some improvements (hello, Files app), I think that the iPad should, at its essence, remain the iPad, while the Mac should still be the Mac.
With the iPad Pro 13” with M3 chip coming out, it’ll be like a sleeper muscle car! More programs should definitely come out to take advantage of!

mine came in today - I misjudged how enormous the 12.9 inch M2 iPad pro is haha.Still, I'll keep it as a note book and second monitor for my macbook.Coding on a single display is hassle no doubt.
I almost went with the 12.9 but it felt too big so I get that. It’s a sweet screen though. Lots of real estate to use.

I have a gaming PC, a 16-inch MacBook M1 Pro, and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard. Once I've gotten used to the iPad, I use it 70 percent of the time now. It's so fun and convenient to use. I am not a student and I don't edit videos but I feel like I could run my business from my iPad. iPad is the future!
I’m pretty similar, i have a gaming laptop with a RTX3070, a MacBook Pro m3 pro and i still use my 2020 iPad Pro the most lol
If I want to use an iPad as my only computer, then it should have macOS installed. Until that happens, I really can't see the point of using glorified iOS as a "computer".

I just got an ipad air and I find it pretty good. I am PhD student and I really enjoy the portability and the performance. But there are still some problems for me. Probably the biggest one is with MS word. It is really a shame that word on ipad is not full-fledged even tho I think that ipad is able to handle it. Really nice video by the way.
Been rocking my 4th gen iPad Pro for 4 yrs now. And before that iPad Air 2cd gen 2015! 🎉 I’m loathe to get a laptop, but I don’t know. Maybe I’ll try a MacBook and keep the iPad Pro longer instead of upgrading to another iPad and try out laptop. I forget what laptop feels like after all this time, and no an HP from 2012 doesn’t count. LOL 🎉

I have the iPad Pro 12.9 5th generation M1 and a Lightning hub, I have 8Tb of SSD drives hooked to my hub with my entire photo and video library. I have a Window Laptop and have kept it updated I used the Windows PC for file storage and management, however, I’m now able to do all of my file management with the iPad and on the drives I can name or rename files create folders and name them appropriately so organization is good on the iPad….I’m strongly considering letting my windows Laptop go and just using my iPad for video editing and photo editing….I’m finding myself seldome using my PC anymore. The lightning hub makes these M-series iPads very fast at data transfers, I work with a lots of very large 4K videos and the iPad handles them like a champ. anyway thanks so much for your videos I enjoy watching. I’ll leave a like.
I wish it had more adobe apps then maybe it would have been more worth it
IpadOS doesnt have as much flaw when you live in an app oriented environment and everything stores to cloud. All the apps macOS and windows cannot provide or develop for. If you’re buying an iPad, youre buying it cause you understand its exact use case.
How can you choose apps with this mouse ? An other Guy again wich does video editing 🙄
Let's be honest....you can use an ipad (any variant) "like a laptop" but you can never use it as a laptop. Apple can put in capable harware components but they will never sacrifice the sales of their true laptops. Apple would rather disappoint some consumers than disappoint their stockholders. But if they would (not likely, though) somehow combine the capabilities of the ipad and macs into one device....they could dominate the laptop, tablets and 2-in-1 segments and i have no doubt about that.

Until Apple finally decided to put macOS on iPad Pro, save yourself a lot of money and just get the MacBook Air. If you have to get an iPad because of the Pencil, the vanilla model and also the iPad Air can do the job just fine for a much cheaper price than the iPad Pro.

Is there anything that the 2020 iPad can’t do that the 2023 can do ?
I have the 2020 and it appears to so far be able to do relatively everything the 23 can. But the rumour of 2024 m3 might change that. For us pre M series we do miss out on some real AAA games that are here and coming such as resident evil village and 4, which is both expected and glad the did this. With the M chips it can actually handle that type of use and better for developers to optimise. Same with some full apps coming will be M chips only. I think the m3 2024 will be a worth while upgrade, plus Oled
errrrr. i dont think ur 2020 ipad can use Stage Manager and this is a HUGE difference especially when connected to external monitor. 😂 Your 2020 ipad can only mirror display to external monitor which is useless…
i have a 3rd and a m1....almost identical! only differences are:
availability of big boy apps
external display is actually pretty good!

Have you ever used a two in one device using windows or chrome OS? Most have excellent pen support. The majority of them are far more flexible and useful than an iPad even if they are not as powerful in terms of processing power. The biggest problem with an iPad is the operating system is just pitiful and pretty useless for getting work done. Therefore it is not a proper computer. This video is just too Apple centric for it to be useful for many people. I was an Apple user for many years but now I will never touch the brand again simply because all their products are too overpriced and many others simply do things better.
