Not a single 8GB RAM option in sight, something Apple can learn from
On the other hand, not a single windows update, virus, advertisement in sight on macOS.
And it looks like the Surface Laptops still have a fan while the macbook airs have no fans
@@ArthropodSpidey true, but let's not pretend MacOS doesn't get affected by malware.
But screw the ads, that is still stupid to this day.

$350 for a keyboard??? is microsoft smoking the same crack as apple???
They all are
Same pipe, just different ends
But MS keyboard is better since it'll break more quickly, giving the consumer to buy new better keyboard or tablet, andlre BSODs when the drivers crash
Apple would charge $1000 and calll it the magic plus amazing never before seen keyboard because we invented keyboards. The Apple fanboys would be foaming at the mouth for it.
That is absurd and way too much for an accessory. I own the new iPad Air 13" but I'll never buy an Apple keyboard
Way more excited about windows potentially running well on ARM than more goofy ai features.
Windows has no issue running on ARM, it's the applications that have been the issue.
@@nickthaskaterhopefully this chip can handle emulation better. And that more apps get native support
Same
@@nickthaskater and that's the major turn off of windows ARM. They don't have tools like rosetta 2 when they introduced windows arm...or at least they tried but failed miserably. So I really hope they solve this issue for this release.
@@enesjei there's an entirely new x86 emulator now, so yes it should be like Rosetta 2 now.
They lost me with the $350 keyboard. Accessory prices have gotten way out of control
It's standalone device
But you can use Type Covers as old as the Pro X Keyboard. The Flex Keyboard isn't your only option here.
Sure, they are expensive, but bring the value back with usability. Sure, if you 2 finger type, wasting 350, 250, 150 or even 75€ on any keyboard is a waste. If you proper 10 finger type, good keyboard is irreplacable. For example, magic keyboard for iPad is hella expensive, but nothing comparable exists that doesnt take up entire table when in use.
$1100 device + $350 keyboard 😡🤬🤬
$1300 device + $150 keyboard 😁🤗🤗
A keyboard should never exceed $100…
I wont even try to type on it… how can someone enjoy something like this?
Could not rape it day in and out my fingers.
the usecase for the separation of the keyboard is actually quite a big thing if you doing art in that device. since your “offhand” can’t rest in front of your screen since you need the space for drawing.
Wireless keyboard = Variable Viewing distance so good for eyes comfort, for hands/arms posture and even for viewing height of the Surface screen for ergonomics/posture. Additionally, wireless means you can write and type at the same time if for example doing science diagrams and typing up some notes alongside.
All I hear is intel is in trouble
Lol Intel has so many clients and sells that they literally don't care. Plus, they don't depend on tsmc like Qualcomm, amd and apple
All I hear is competition is here
@IvoPavlik maybe Intel will get off there high horse
Intel seems to have heavily discounted their Ultra series CPU, as I noticed mostly of the laptops with them are selling at equal less price. The battery life of the ultra series is acceptable (10h vs maybe 20h on arm), not as good but if it's discounted it's not too bad.
The detachable keyboard is perfect if you are travelling and the seat in front of you has a folding table.
Put your laptop up high and the keyboard on your lap👌
lol PowerPoint presentation at the cafe?
Why not, I know people who do lots of them in a week
Still no native pdf *EDITOR*
Still no decent email/calendar app (mail and calendar being replaced by “the new outlook” which is a disaster.
Why does microsoft not polish software?

Erm I think we have that sort of thing in browsers where we can look back to find out something we saw maybe last week. I think it's called "History" or "Ctrl + H" on most if not all browsers. Personally I'd rather not have Microsoft screenshot anything even if it's "local"
Microsoft says local but only open source code would verify that since we all know how much microsoft loves to sell your data
@@hannahtimson2526 that's what I'm saying. Especially when people have to install a "real" clean version of Windows 11 without all the telemetry an bloat that comes with it
Cool video! I’m still happy using my Pro X, but I hope this is a sign they’re finally serious about ARM. Honestly, five years later native compatibility should really be 100%.
It's been long overdue for sure
The Bluetooth functionality used to be an add on device you’d click the keyboard to way back when the Surface line first came out
Bro amazing quality video, so glad you're making content.
Great vid Ken! I'm in the market for a laptop and I think this is going to be be a good choice
Microsoft taking screenshots of your display and extracting information to feed its algorithms... What could go wrong?!
At least that’s a feature you can turn off…for now.
Several tv show writers just got new ideas for the fall season.
they already announced that the recall feature is entirely on-device, nothing gets sent to MS

So excited for these!
I got my Surface Pro preordered and oh am I ready for it! Don't really care about all the AI stuff though. Best of all, I can just carry over my Type Cover from my Surface Pro X!
does the new one support the old cover?
I’m very envious. I have a base surface pro 9 and wondering what I could get as a part exchange through Microsoft for a base X Plus iteration. I may come back to this chat to find out how you got along with performance. I’m holding out for some reviews just to make sure software I use all works well.
@@SanderGHovde Yep! Surface Pro is compatible with the Pro X Keyboard, Pro X Signature Keyboard, Pro Keyboard, Pro Signature Keyboard, and Pro Keyboard with Pen Storage. All on top of supporting the new Flex Keyboard.
@@SanderGHovdeyeah and I love that
The price is simply unreasonable, especially the upgrades are insane
Depends
I'd say the price is amazing. 16gb/512gb with best CPU for 1600 euros is great value
Fair but it's a steal compared to Apple prices
@@pauldekoning7679 While Qualcomm's new core design shows promise, we lack critical information about its actual performance, particularly concerning the x86 to ARM translation layer. It's unclear if this layer supports only x86, or if it can seamlessly integrate both x86 and ARM architectures.
Currently, the only data available indicates good performance in synthetic benchmarks and impressive power efficiency. However, it's premature to label it as the "best CPU" without real-world reviews and thorough evaluations.
Denki Awesome Video. Thanks so much enjoyed. 💯✌️
350 for the pro keyboard is just obscene.
It's 7000 SEK for the keyboard and pen here in Sweden - that is just bonkers.
nope, recall sounds like a privacy nightmare. I truly hope that it doesn't become standard on regular Windows versions
just turn it off?
Recall is pretty much microsoft seeing every single thing you do on your screen...
Imagine watching naughty stuff 😳
Then remove the applications you wish the OS not to record or better yet completely disable it.

I’m really looking forward to the reviews of these, I’ve been holding off on buying a MacBook Air since the announcement of the snapdragon CPU in the first place.
I’ve heard that the laptop, allows for upgrading the SSD, which to me is pretty much the reason I would buy it over a MacBook Air
Another use case is for the wireless keyboard is that you can connect your surface to a tv and use it from your couch.
Also for artists, this is huge bc you can draw on the surface while keeping the keyboard to the side for keyboard shortcuts. They showed this in the ad but i don’t think non-artists understand how useful this is. People have been using workaround methods with other accessories/keyboards for years
I watched this video on a Surface Pro.
They sell the keyboard separately? Apparently, they're learning from Apple and the iPad.
iPad os is isn’t a keyboard centered OS and everything can be done using the touchscreen, Windows on the other hand is a Mouse and Keyboard/Trackpad centered OS with a lot of stuff not working well with touch, so I’d say it’s even worse.
@@idontwanttochooseausernameexactly 💯 we should tell people this stuff evertime they ask for Mac os on the iPad
I’m curious about that orange chair in the background on the left. Does anyone know what it’s called?
My Biggest concern is compatability for x86 programs.
Sounding dope so far
I miss the Surface book lineup ..I own a Surface Book 2 and love it
350 for a keyboard: now that's a day light robbery
so it will save all the snapshots on device.... which means it's gonna get filled up pretty quick?
Not super excited about a battery being glued into the type cover. Don't care how long it lasts, as it will die eventually, and you never know whether it will be the battery or the contacts that go first.
I'd use a wireless keyboard with the track-pad on the side for the surface pro and connect it with a wireless dongle through one of the thunderbolts. Much much cheaper, less portable yes, but not by too much.
The creating pictures machine learning stuff is fun, but the search feature feels like something you could do with OCR software from 1997. Screenshot, convert text, make searchable. It's probably (?) a bit smoother, but any type of searching (web, on device) has not been MS strong suit.
From some of what I've seen it can search inside the documents as well, so far removed from screenshot ocr. Search in general and indexing has actually improved quite a lot
@@1dappa searching document text has been a thing for years. There's nothing "AI" about it.
@@1dappa OCR was able to convert entire PDFS. This being able to do it on the fly maybe is made easier by machine learning, but a lot of this has to do with marketing and shareholders and less to do with some revolutionary functionality.
@@nickthaskater True, its more what you can do now and the expansion of context. For example being able to search the words redbag and have imagines of red bags appear in the result, or documents containing images of red bags. Two things can be true at the same time - they overhype everything as AI, but also, transformers and LLMs have changed a lot.
@@1dappa Google Photos has been able to do that for years.

When will the full review coming?
This might be the first time I considered to buy a high end PC Laptop since years. Did they fix things in the new rebuilt Windows version? Like control panel?
So is this full Windows or a watered down version for ARM? If it can't run all the native apps with the minimum of hiccups,, it'll be just like previous attempts at this.
This is amazing. I've never wanted to jump ship from Windows. Now I'm even more glad to remain with Windows. Snapdragon X here we go.
Finally, 16GB of RAM on the Surface Pro base specs!
Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, and ThinkPad T14s: Are we a joke to you?
Hi! Will any of these new Microsofts be able to handle gaming?
And here I am installing ancient games on my 2010 Acer 5551G dual core.
What about the surface go? Are there plans for a new 2024 model?
im just happy they finally got thinner bezels
LOL at everyone in the comments saying that the price of the keyboard is a deal breaker-- this isn't the Apple ecosystem where functionality will be inhibited if you don't EXCLUSIVELY use their products. I've been using Surface devices for years and have been using a different Bluetooth keyboard and pen. My device WORKS and it does things really well. 😅
Also, as someone who writes for a living giving PowerPoint presentations in a café is not all you can do with a Bluetooth keyboard. 😉
Disabling Recall if i get one of these
Computers storing tabs and applications that you close is something...
Something Mac has done for a few years and Linux has done for decades. I think Windows 7 even offered a similar feature.
@@rightwingsafetysquad9872 yes but not to this extent
The problem with the old windows arm devices was that the old Qualcomm SoC were so underpowered. Instead the M1 was always very powerfull do of course Roseta could emulate everything perfectly fine.
Microsoft banned a xbox user for recording a baulders gate scene using built in xbox recorder. He never shared it with anyone but Microsoft apparently sees everything you say and record on there platform.
They still took data of users on windows even when toggled off.

surface pro 10 was released not too long ago, that is intel only.
He said he would give us pricing and doesn't mention the price of the OLED
whats the display? 16x10 or 16x9?

The future looks bright for Microsoft but Windows still needs A LOT of polishing. That white-flashy dark mode, buggy animation when pressing Control+Tab, and two setting panels, etc. Who knows when will they fix them? Maybe never. So I will stick to my iPad/Macbook combo for now.
The detachable keyboard is obviously a must-have for artists, because you can have access to all your shortcuts, while still using the screen in a mostly horizontal layout
The keyboards seem already oil-soaked at the palm rests at an angle. Not sure how many months the materials will last, especially if you are in a tropical country with sweaty hands.
and finally, that weird design at the back where it is thicker is gone, one of the best looking windows laptop because of that imo

Surface pro 10 just isn't price competitive anymore. I'm already looking at Miniforums V3 that's half the price with more performance

For some reason they chose you have to go with Black to get the 32 Gb RAM and 1 Tb version. Black is the least appealing of all colors.
Will we find out if they are going to fix this? If you buy an elite laptop for such a high price being limited to a finger print collecting case ruins it.

@@MarioDarnadi We find the black devices show all our finger prints. Any time we have a snack we needs wipes to clean the devices.
Now the surface 11 will be a direct rival not only to MacBook pro, air but ipad might lose the competition
This has the same starting price as a iPad Pro in Europe and with windows being the os I doubt this will compete with Tablets, and costs 500€ more if you want a Oled screen which the iPad Pro already has and with the same storage options it’s 350 and 70€ more expensive for 512gb/1tb models.
@@idontwanttochooseausername Except the iPad is a usable device without a keyboard. A Surface is not. Windows 11 is not optimized for tablet use, at all.
Why remove the Intel chips for a Qualcomm 🤨honestly I was looking for the ultra Intel chip as well as the Nvidia 4000 series. It’s still expensive or even more. They still prioritize the features on the surface pro rather than the laptop no OLED for the laptop FYI.
Arm chips are much more efficient, so they are much better for mobile use.
$999 for the LCD version, add another $500 for the Oled screen. Yikes!
the $ 500 is for OLED + X ELITE
As the LCD ones ship with the XPLUS
For the price, you can get a pretty powerful laptop, a pretty powerful oled tablet, and not have to deal with Windows 11. And given Microsofts recent moves making windows as awful as possible, I'd say this is a win.
