i somehow love seeing you guys make videos more than the video but the video turnt out really great! I wonder why nobody else did that with drowns already :D
There is an easier and faster way of doing the whole smoothing with acetone. You heat up the acetone in a can or bucket or whatever (not too much) until it starts vaporizing and then you put your model in the vapor just a few seconds and then take it out(depending on how smooth you want it you can repeat the process until it's just how you want it). This way it's done much quicker and you can easily control it (so it doesnt stay the same or melt away like in the video)
Wow, at first I was like "That dude spends way too much time on the sunlight on the models, it's not that important", so I rewatched the original video and holy crap that shit is important! Definitely didn't expect it to matter that much. I guess the lighting just felt so natural that I didn't notice anything, so props to you guys

Holy crap, and all you asked is for Sunday's vlog to be skipped. What a treat! Totally worth the wait. And a second instance of meta-BTS?! Nick and Carmichael, you two are spoiling us today. Great job, and sorry to see you two working late into the night with Wren and Sam. I also realized the last minute BTS footage still needs editing and Wrendering when the Star Wars video is done. So while Wren is celebrating on his one-wheel half-asleep and knocking people down like poor Carmichael, Nick has to finish the BTS. Seriously though, great work Wren on taking the drone footage and turning it into an awesome Corridor Digital video. Tight deadlines and convincing visual effects don't mix well. Rest In Peace camera lens. You've served us well for many many BTS vlogs. Now you can sleep.
By the way, the broken lens looks like it can be used to simulate a drunk or drugged effect. If there's ever a need for such an effect in a video, maybe give the broken lens a try?

This sentiment is quite common, I've found! Totally valid. I think it's the fact that it's so much longer and more personality driven rather than a set piece that's cool because it's designed to be cool. These are easier to connect with, especially if it's not the first of them that you've seen.

GOD i was ancious when the render on the other computer looked flat, but the music gave me the chills, dude... I love filmmaking for these exact moments, when something goes horribly wrong which you got to figure out, but another part just works so perfect, you'd never imagined it to. Great video. Absolutely terrific.

I have to give major props to Wren. The biggest thing I noticed watching the vid was the movement of the shadows. The video as a whole was great, but that was the part that made me question how it was done, despite watching the vlogs regularly. I can only imagine how painstaking it was to choreograph those movements. Top score, gents.

You're trick with acetone and the kinect to 3d print are really useful. My friends are trying to start up a D&D campaign and these two things would be great for making us some 3d models for ourselves. Also bless Wren.

I spent the whole video trying to decide if you guys did CG lighting for the cockpit or practical effects. It is awesome that you did it with practical effects. I think it turned out better than if you would have tried to CG the cockpits.
That drone footage still blows my mind, those pilots are crazy good, and the cockpits worked like a charm. The last and first parts felt.....weird, as if the whole drone fighting was DEAD serious with the music and all, and then those scenes almost felt as if they can't be taken seriously, which is strange, also for some strange reason the Third person perspective (when you see both ships in 3d model) feel a bit odd, but not as "bad" (using quotes because I'm being extremely picky mind you) as the first and final scenes. Amazing job nonetheless.
