What a machine he was that year. Similar to Sea the Stars 3 year old season on the flat I doubt I will see another jump horse win this list of races in my lifetime.

Backed it from the off, what a horse, never let us down. Betfair chase at haydock was sheer class, the statue there says it all. Was a great era for national hunt racing and this year seems similar.

This misses out his win in the Aon Chase (now called the Denman, ironically) when he was half fit, keen for 2 miles, smashed the final fence, and fought off Tony McCoy on L’ami all the way to the line.

Kauto Star not Kato. Give this great horsethe respect he deserves. So lucky to have been around in Kautos whole careeru usually u have to hear of the great horses or look back but this one some of us saw from the begining. There is a song written about him 'Kauto Star' by Mark Boylan that says it all and yes he really was that good
