- Fallout New Vegas revolves primarily around the New Vegas strip, and getting to the strip itself is a hard task. You have to navigate the wastes and make sure to avoid High Level enemies, while the price of entry itself is a high one. Today I will show you the fastest way to get from Goodsprings to the New Vegas Strip in once piece.

2:02 I always take this route on casual runs since you get 2 unique weapons (chance's knife and love & hate), a flamer, an incinerator and early combat armor which you can sell to get more than what is needed to get into the strip
I tried with the incinerator on that route and I absolutely destroyed the deathclaws, then one bugged out and stayed in place, I thought I was safe so I saved, realised I had pretty much nothing left in the way of ammo, turned around to carry on to new vegas and BOOM dead
Massive jumpscare. If I had just saved 5 seconds earlier, I’d have been fine. Big ouch
I wasn’t really speed running or anything though, this is my second play through. My first is only like 15% complete lol
Or you can keep all that and instead take the monorail to get to the strip
You can get an NCR Disguise at Black Mountain and go through the path with rocks and you don't even have to take damage when entering the Monorail.

You just need an NCR uniform of any kind, it does not matter where you got it. I usually get mine from watching the fiends duke it out with the NCR south of Mc Carran as I approach. Very convenient. Take a uniform from a corpse of an NCR that a fiend killed, wear the uniform. Breeze through Mc Carran and boom, you are in the strip. If you are going to go the Mc Carran route I could not imagine a more convenient way to get a uniform. Just approach Mc Carran directly from the south and watch them fight each other for 30 seconds. An NCR almost always dies in my play throughs.

Idk how, but I already had like 5000 caps when I got to New Vegas

I literally got into the Strip by walking up to the door and going on the monorail without knowing what I was doing. Now I know why I became an enemy of the NCR
Getting into the monorail by using an item to hover yourself up to the monorail is not glitchless because you abuse the game's physics in such a manner it is not meant to be used in a vanilla playthrough, but if you want to get into the monorail the legit and glitchless way faster, just kill an NCR Trooper (preferred with Stealth to avoid faction hostility), get their uniform, and wear it right before you enter Camp McCarran.
The guards will allow anyone into the monorail wearing a NCR uniform.
Actually there’s a better way. There’s an NCR troops uniform through black mountain
@@lostsoul5385 this is literally what i do every playthru. take the dead guys armor at black mountain and wear it to ride the monorail. EZPZ. The other trick wastes nearly as much time if not more, if you fail to do it perfectly the first time.

Guys the best way is to just circle around Camp Mccaren and find fiends fighting NCR and wait for an NCR member to die, and take their armor

So one thing. On the glitchless run if you have a science skill of 80 you can enter random code the robot at the gate. This will allow entrance to the strip.
getting 80 sci would take a very long time though

I would surpass the credit check by going up to jacobstown lying to Marcus and getting the 3000 caps so I'd have enough to pass the credit check

K I have to make a video on this. There's a way to sneak past the deathclaws without going into sneak. Then you just gotta steal a NCR outfit and ride the monorail.
The black mountain route lets you yoink a ncr outfit, if you walk to the part where the scripted boulders start falling on that hill
my first game i just ran to the strip and did quest along the way. i never had a hard time with it aswell

How does boundary breaking not count as a glitch?
People seem to pick and choose what's a glitch and what isn't
There's no consistent way to tell what is and isn't a "glitch".
How unclimbable does the terrain have to be to make it considered a glitch to climb it?
Thats why he stated user defined. Since this is speedrunning the community collectively agreed that it does not count as a glitch.
Why? I dont know. Quality of life for speedrunning, if its banned it might change other glitches or null the route, its grandfathered in from the speedruns beginning roots,
Plenty of games speedruns allow some type of this to keep the community alive and not deter runners while staying as faithful to the category as they can

Isn't there a science check you can pass to make the robot sentries at the strip allow you entry? It's not even a really high check.

04:36 E. Have good movement speed just run through the gates and nothing will happen (nobody will be hostile, etc). You will get inside and everything will be ok. I always do that KKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I got to the strip by accident the nightkins are really easy to beat when you have like 20 serphalar cola and I prolly took the safest route there too

I’m not a speedrunner but I got access to the strip without doing a single quest today on my first playthrough
Im on 2nd playthrough,aiming for legion questline,they have good punishments,which real life needs,anyway I had both NCR and legion on neutral,the 2guards in camp mccarron,by door leading to door for monoraiI went behind the 2 guards,who followed,shooting but still got on monorail,the other side ur greeted by NCR,who didn't start shooting,did this without watching vids aswell

I got to the NV strip at the beginning of the game by just arriving to the Mick shop, sell some useless guns, buy a passport and that’s it. Easy.

Honestly going through the deathclaws to quickly get to new Vegas is way easier than it sounds. It just messes up the flow of the game so I don't recommend doing so.
New Vegas has Speedrunners? O.o I know some glitches that let me make millionaire characters practically right from the start :D running to the strip is always an option... question is- how much will what I know help me?
I usually just do it to buy everything I could ever want in-game, but come to think the cap amount really helps move the story along. 🤔
I've only told like 1 or 2 people how I do it too. You gotta have the DLC.
Edit: Actually.... the biggest thing between me and uploading speedruns, is that I have no recording equipment and/or a decent PC to play and record on. :/
You can take the middle path past the Deathclaws by hugging the canyon on your right.
Wow that's actually a pretty damn fast skip. Lol. I know lot's of little tricks using the armor step trick. You can get out of the map boundaries at the airport by doing this to get on the roof over the entrance to the building. :) And the reload jump probably only works correctly on a PC. PS3 is a laugh.
