I've been waiting for this video! I was looking at those and kmr lately. I hope they're at IWA so I can handle them. What got me interested at first was bolt holding the slide&barrel being separate of the slide catch, being drop safe and the trigger reach being adjustable on some models.
It'll take some after market involvement for your desired mag capacity in the US, cause we can't legally have more than 20 rounders for pistols making no sense at all but it is what it is. It'd be cool to see more models of them reviewed by you. This is one of rare instances where the price will be lower for me.
These guns are awesome. I have this one and the Special, which has the three port comp.
Interesting, but price is a no go for me. With all the affordable 2011's coming out, I'm more excited about say Tisas nightstalker double stack vs LFA apollo 11. I wonder if someone could do a slide in frame 2011 with the other 2011 elements (polymer grip module, straight back trigger etc).
This and the decima rapax are definitely on my 2024 list.

I saw these in IG a few years back on I believe a Polenar video. I think they look like a phenomenal piece. But that price tag was way beyond what I expected.
its a 1.000 usd gun in czech but even there noone buys it anymore because KMR and CZ have better and less proprietary alternatives

In my opinion, on the one hand the manufacturer is betting that Standard Optics Division will be introduced into IPSC, but on the other is hoping that shooters will just not stick scopes on 15 year old CZ TS9 guns and will want something more exotic in order to enjoy it.

That thing is one heck of a checklist checker. Of course, I'll probably buy a DD H9, an X-Caliber, and another couple of pistols before it, but it sure looks sweet.
I’ve also become interested in the X-Calibur given the rotating barrel design being like a Beretta Px4. Good taste.

These caught my eye until I seen the price tag! You can get a Bull Armory tac 2 for essentially 1/4 of the price!
Looks interesting, but there are some other pretty good options that come in under this price point. Sounds like the Vudoo Priest may be your pick in this bracket, do you feel MPA is falling behind in the market?
Great looking shooter! Have you handled the swiss Phoenix Redback or one of their CZ style pistols? They are both 2011 money though...

Was interested until i saw the hinge trigger. If i wanted short trigger reach id just put a short trigger shoe in double stack 1911 or 2011. Its cool tho, always like seeing new SAO pistols being made. Im just so stuck in my ways.
Great firearm if you are not working on paying off your house, saving or paying for your children’s college, saving for your daughter’s wedding or retirement and most importantly being generous to others. If you are a multimillionaire or a top ranked competitor-shooter, then this pistol is for you.

Good video! random question from another video you made, but couldn't remember which one. You mentioned lightening cuts on longer slides don't always help with recoil. I can't remember what your reason was behind this and I'm debating between a 4in barrel and 5.5in barrel with lightening cuts on the slide. Thanks for the help!
A lighter slide moves faster and without compensation that momentum makes it hit harder when it’s fully open - and can translate to more muzzle climb. The most violent shooting gun I have has an extremely light weight slide with no comp. If it had a very aggressive compensator - it would probably be one of the most tame.
The overall profile, front grip texture, and trigger geometry are very reminiscent of a Phoenix Redback SAO
Would love to see you get your hands on a Phoenix redback or Drake for a review. Seem rather similar
I just shot my Arma Zekas with my Redbacks and Drakes. All great shooters, but completely different designs.

If you can get your hands on them, try comparing the Daniel H9 to the now modular Archeon type B with different grip lengths. Would have to be the polymer one cause the steel variant is quite hefty whil the H9 is only aluminum.

I own four Phoenix. Two Redbacks and two Drakes. They are the best CZ clones. These AZ pistols are not CZ clones.

I had contacted APF about tracking down a 10 rounds version of the Super Optics2 for me - then I had a sudden attack of financial conservatism along with a slight case of Irish guilt and called them off. Spending $4k+ sight unseen on a SA from a company that is a relatively unknown quantity is not the soundest decision I’ve ever made - or almost made. APF is also a distributor for Arsenal - A trip to their website and my ADD would kick in! I was regularly distracted by the Strike One Speed at almost a quarter the price of the AZ hotness. So the whole thing is on hold for the time being - So lets see what you have to say about Arma Zeka that I can use as excuse to myself and make the purchase!! cheers mate!

I never heard of them before but they obviously have some history based on their web site. They definitely are using the CZ slide/rail system but that may just be a Czech thing.
You're mistaken. They don't have the rails inside at all. It's noticable how you have more space to grip the slide.

Nice gun. Still don't get the point of IPSC. Handguns are for emergency defense until you get to safety, and/or to your Rifle or Machine gun. Would never carry this huge bucket-o-bullets.
What makes this better than CZ shadow?

I love the Shadow 2 and own a couple. AZ is far better quality than CZ in general though. Plus the design is completely different.
If 40 ounces is right for a non compensated gun, what’s right for a compensated gun?
Unless you keep coming in 2nd place in matches by like less than a second, I don’t think you’ll gain anything from spending $4200 on this, compared to just getting a Cajunized SP-01 for $1300 or a Shadow 2 on sale for $1,000. I personally don’t mind the front heavy SP-01 design, and you can swap grips, so doesn’t seem like a $3000 upgrade (I know you listed over other improvements but I still can’t get behind it when it costs more than a Czechmate).
It's a diminishing returns game. No $5-6k 2011 is a lot nicer than a $1k budget racer - they're nicer to be certain - but the advantages aren't strictly performance based.
As someone who runs up high round counts - I'd rather wrench on a 2011 than a CZ pattern gun. Much simpler to keep in operation and no critical parts breakages that make the gun potentially inoperable on a stage (Slide stop or TRS breaking). BUT - you pay for that. It's like a 3-3500 gun to do that.
Oh man. Even the most base model starts at 3k. That just hurts my soul. :(

With the thumb on safety thing, it's true for well designed guns. But poorly designed guns like the sig p938, you will hurt yourself by doing that, and you will also cause malfunctions if you don't.

Arma Zekas Hype in europe is already over for years in EU. Noone buys them anymore, they are too pricy compared to KMR Precision Arms and the alloy frame does not make it a competitor to the Shadow 2 what makes this whole pistol family useless.

Stealth Arms' Platypus---on paper it sounds like an amazing idea "1911 that accepts Glock mags" and is highly customizeable (tons of option)---but then you ask yourself ".....why would i want a 1911 that uses Glock mags? Why would I hve Glock mags by a 1911?? If i like the shootablity of a 1011 why not stick with 1011 mags?? AIf i can only afford a Glock 19 or other Glocks....etc. :) You boutht the Platypus because you "love GLOCK mags"?? :))
You looove the signficantly lower price of the mags and don't have to deal with the moods of 2011 mags. bending feed lips juuust right. If it holds up it is a good idea since so many people own lots of Glock mags.
I think it was brilliant of Platypus as Glock mags are cheap and plentiful. There’s a lot of Glock fan boys out there and Platypus knew they’d get a lot of people interested bye that one feature. Plus if SHTF scenario broke out you know you’d be G2G.
