- The Grand Power XCalibur Match CO is the 2023 update to the XCalibur - a gun that is popular in IPSC production division. With optics now dominating the US competition circuit - the Match CO is the new optic ready variant for potentially Carry Optics, Production Optics, or Limited Optics.

Another gun I totally don’t need but will have to buy. I’ve reached that point in my collecting that I only buy “interesting and different” now. This fits the criteria. A Post Christmas purchase….unless it goes on sale of course. 😂
I'm just like you. I can't resist any longer, lol...
Been telling you to get one for years 😊😊 , been shooting original Xcalibur and other variants for years. Have bunch of videos comparing it to bunch of different guns.
I think your vids helped me consider a X-Cal. 👍😎👍
@richdubbya glad I could help. If you wanna save $$ you can always get Xcalibur MK12 and have it milled for optic. I'm actually looking to do that for upcoming season. I'll keep you posted.
You don't have to trim the safeties, just swap for the included slimmer safeties.
I have mine set up wide on left, slim on right.
It was so clear you'd be here. Will you get one too?
I love rotating barrel designs. The Px4 by Beretta has that design. Fantastic pistol.
Same!
Thanks for the review David!! Have a good upcoming week Brother & shoot on!!
Awesome video thanks for putting this content out! As a CZ fan I'm excited for the comparison whenever you get to it be well.
Something about this makes me really like it. Probably the rotating barrel. I keep thinking the Browning tilt action has been used so much, there's very little innovation left in the platform. So it's nice to see something new... even if the tech is practically ancient at this point. Let's take the rotating action rabbit hole and see where it leads with modern tech.
I love it in my px4 storm. Makes a light glock 19 sized gun recoil like a big heavy staccato
I ran a shield optic for 2 years with zero issues. The 8 moa is great
In Europe CZ has little competition in IPSC. The Shadow 2 and the TS2 are extremely popular. +80% market share probably.
Same here in Australia
Same in Asia.. Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand ... 70-80% shooting CZs and
Where I am in the US it’s also mostly CZs followed by caniks and M&Ps with a few walthers, berettas, Glocks, and SiG’s
But in SAO divisions it’s 2011s
Check out my Locals Community - free to follow but I'd love your support!: thehumblemarksman.locals.com/post/4803302/getting-23-rounds-in-a-grand-power-x-calibur
I'm looking into this firearm, thanks for showing it.
Someone really should make a pistol with this action in a 2011 style frame.
Cool piece!
Cool video thanks.
I have a K100 Xtrim which is similiar to this firearm with less features and that thing is phenomenal. Light, crisp trigger with a reset that will make you hate the reset on most other firearms.
I've been wanting a K100 X-Trim. Great choice.
Didn't know much about them but a local gun store had what looked like an almost unused X-trim in the used case for 325 bones. Couldn't pass it up. Very nice shooting pistol even though I don't shoot competitively. Looked online at prices at the time and knew it was a deal.
@@jefferytillis8309
Damn dude, $325 is a steal.
As long as they can parlay aftermarket support. The make great shooting guns for sure.
Reminds me of my carry PX4. I want it!
Superb ❤
I like the rotating barrels.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Shield RMS optics footprint is the same as the Leupold DPP footprint and the Doctor is the same as the Vortex Venom/Viper footprint.
Dunno if theres the space for it in the cut but that should mean you could fit a Holosun SCS320 on this, at least the pin/screw holes should be the same.
First rounds pounced of nicely from the rmsx large window🤠 Is the glass version more durable?
Thats ome of the best looking pistols I've ever seen.
I fired a tuned up PX4 storm and it opened my eyes to the rotating barrel. I was dismissive until I shot it, and now I'm thinking about this Grand Power
Was there something particular to the recoil feel you liked? The PX4 has been in my consideration list for a while. A shame Beretta hasn't added some grip adjustment ability with swappable backstraps, even front straps. Their original styling decisions would work with swappable pieces while staying uniquely Beretta.
Sweet
Pretty neat
10:01 exact the same belt & holster in the exact same colour I am using.
I just ordered mine. But I ordered a prior gen for not just the price, but for the bul barrel. If I want a red dot, I'll mill it. Looking forward to it.
I once owned a GP K100 Mk7 and liked it. The barrel didn't have the deep groove that the XCalibur does but it functioned fine and was accurate. Disassembly and reassembly wasn't a lot of fun although the. DA/SA trigger was very good.
If it stays drop save at the same time compared to CZs/Tanfos that aren't mostly after tuning it got me interested. I wish they made the lightening cuts without breaking through inviting all the dirt inside.
Damnt at this point they own the rotating barrel patent, design is wild tho 😮
Would like to try a rotating barrel. Fine looking pistol.
I have been a big Grand Power fan for years and use to run the original Xcalibur in USPSA matches. I've held off getting it cut for an optic as I assumed their would be an optics version soon enough. I'm really digging this version but it is on the steep side of pricey right now, IMHO. Maybe it will come down in a few and I'll pick one up then.... Hopefully.
Why not just mill it for cheaper? What division can you shoot in?
@@wongkeebs4327mainly every one I've seen that has been milled weakened the slide to much. That and I've pretty much moved on to Sigs for Carry Optics now for competition. I've kept my grand powers in the collection though. I still have 4 of them.
IIRC the non-match version of the Xcalibur is also cut for optics.
Oooohh damn.. that's one sexy gun!!!!
This is one I lust for and would order if it was about $600 - $700, but it’s too expensive in today’s competitive market considering what I can get for that price point.
I’m on it like a fat kid on candy when the price comes down though!
Its also a lot better looking than the PX4 😂
Gun come with slim safeties. Put one on the right side and it fits the box.
Great video! Where can you get the 23 rd magazines you mentioned? I did not find them in your local link. Thanks!
They aren’t factory - you get a TF base with a CSRG spring and follower
Do you know if porting would be possible? Also, any thoughts on you doing 10mm (comp/carry) reviews?
i make holsters for them since i have mold from factory
Grip tape cutouts and 20 round mags are factory options.
Sweet pistol
Whoa 😊😊😊
Grand Power’s revamped MK23 pistol lineup (K100, P1, P11, Q1s, etc) look outstanding. In terms of functionality or shootability, their prob isn’t much difference between the MK12 and MK23 versions except for maybe the optics cut and improved stippling. That said, the MK23’s offer more pride of ownership. Especially with the new colorations. Hopefully they will be imported into 🇺🇸 very soon.
Not much difference? They revamped the action, the very core of the handgun. Can you anme another manufacturer who has updated the action type when moving from one generation ot the next?
Yeah the one thing that really keeps me from liking CZs and especially Tanfos is the stacking of the DA trigger about halfway through. I find a steady linear pull -- even if it's heavier -- a lot easier to manage. So this gun is pretty compelling for that, the price, and the price of the magazines which is why I don't look at SIGs or Walthers more seriously.
I totally agree I have an x-cal. Mk12 and a CZ S2, I like the DA much more on the x-cal even though it's heavier, can prestack it easier. But maybe that's just because I'm more used to it haven't had the S2 that long, need more training on S2. Made a trigger job on the S2 for lighter DA..
It would seem that a production gun with rotating barrel could be made to be more accurate than a tilt-barrel gun but that wouldn't mean anything for its use in speed events where accuracy is not important.
Rotating barrels are tight!
You need to try a Strike One now.
I seen that DragonForce reference and thought to myself "Wow it's been a while since I heard that song." So I did the only logical thing... looked for the official music video on YT. Then I was delivered a painful blow to my ego. That song is 16 years old. Time to register for AARP.
I'm a Walther guy and a new steel frame owner, and I refuse to touch one of these. No, it isn't because I think it's bad. I think it's going to be so good that I have to get into a whole new platform and I don't want to do that right now.
Knock knock ✊ who’s there
The Humble Marksman
Humble who
Humble me humble you lol 😝
Sweet, pistol
Ok I need
🍿
It's a shame we can't get Grand Power pistols in Australia. 😢
Did they have you name this? I mean it has Mr. Blanton written all over the naming.
You had me at Dragonforce.
This or Canik Rival, which can run in CO? Answer is a no brainer.
I would have liked to have seen you remove the barrel from the slide. Tim over at MAC seemed to have a huge issue with removing the barrel, but it looked to me like he had no idea what he was doing. I was just curious as to how difficult it actually is.
Not difficult - a touch tricky but not that hard to do
I think this is going to beat the shadow 2 amd a decent price point.
I’m holding out for the Deus Vult edition…
Hi, what Magazine Pads do you use on the grandpower?
Click the link in the description
Are you aware of any multi reticle optics that you could run on this Gun?
Yo someone messed up the depth when they were milling out those grooves
Rotating like px4?
A long 9lb DA pull would make sense for duty use, but it's a very weird decision for a competition pistol.
So now that you have looked again at the berretta px4 w langdon tactical specs. Which would you run to own and run?
the Beretta is better suited to carry - the XCal is probably better suited for competition
The Q100 Mk12 Gen 2 with the flat trigger is a striker at 3lbs. And can be picked up for under $500. The PX4 storm with the full LTT package will cost you close to $1200+ and will not outperform a box stock Q100 for under $500. Plus you can get the 20 round magazines for it. All the 9mm GP pistol magazines work together.
Funky looking, but kind of Kool.
just change flat small standard safety for IDPA box. it is underneath the foam in case
"It's only legal in limited optics"
Open: Hold my beer.
It went without saying “with a chance of being competitive”
Only info I could find keeps saying these are in the $5-600 range, but I find it hard to believe with the rotating barrel
You are looking at one of the older non “match” models. This is $1299 on the global ordinance website. I’d link it but CZcams doesn’t allow it.
Ah sounds about right
The rotating barrel is not really expensive.
Seems like a cool gun, but I cant get my head around the plastic. Prefer a metal gun, but it's most likely becauce I'm stuck in my ways :p
It really sucks that I bought Grand Powers one year before they were optics ready....
These new guns really have a nice look to them.
🤟🏻😎🤟🏻
"For those of you who are wrong handed...."
"Hey!"
I own the CZ TS2 and grand power x calibur. not even in the same ballpark. CZ TS2 is amazing accurate with only 1.5 pound trigger and solid built and i mean perfect tight fit parts. x-calibur magazines rattle in the handle and although accurate gun, it feels cheaply made. the only other gun that comes close to CZ's weight and accuracy and built is Tanfoglio defiant stock master.
Would that work for carry optics?
Look at the USPSA production gun list to see if it’s there
At least it _tries_ to even pretend to address bore axis
I have a OLDER MODEL of the Excalibur which I've had for not long after they FIRST came into this country about 7-8 years ago. As soon as I saw it I was IN LOVE, the rotating barrel was so COOL and different from the Beretta Cougar and the PX Storm but my early model is a little DIFFERENT than the one you have as far as how they ACCOMPLISHED the rotation of the barrel. Mine has a HIGHLY POLISHED CUT BARREL rides on a needle roller mounted perpendicular to the barrel. The NEWER ones from what I noticed when you took it apart is more like the BERETTAS, a stud that rides in a slot that could cause PROBLEMS . It APPEARS to me (could be wrong) that there is more of a chance that TRASH could find its way into the SLOT causing jamming problems. It still has a unique way of field stripping and reassembling as the old one. I liked it SO MUCH I got the CHOPPED MODEL (shorter barrel) but UNFORTUNATELY I sold it to a hunter friend of mine who LOVED IT. The reason why I sold it was because the way it field strips and goes back together was DIFFICULT for me, I'm 71 now and don't have the strength in my hands as I used to have and the recoil spring on the chopped model was TOO STRONG for me to perform normal cleaning after shooting it. GREAT PISTOL, GLAD I GOT IT. I'M A BIT OF A ACCURACY FREAK with ALL WEAPONS including my P08 that😢 has a new (back in WW2) arsenal installed barrel and new Wolffe springs kit. ACCURATE AND FUNCTIONS LIKE A NEW PISTOL.😉👍😁. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PROMOTING THE 2nd AMENDMENT.👍😁
Do you shoot at M160?
Yes
@@TheHumbleMarksman One day we will meet
My shield rmsx has a really shitty battery life after a couple days at the range
Do you use the cover?
@@TheHumbleMarksman i didn't at first contacted shield and they sent me a cover but even with a cover as much as I shoot outside I can barely get three months out of a battery
Phase?! (*said incredulously)
This is who I am!
Also I still listen to power metal
Looks like your shoes are untied.
LOL @ Power metal phase. I have a first gen, don't shoot it as much as it warrants.
Those first gens are rare! Most of of the guns in the US are Mk12s with a few Mk6's floating around. When did you get yours?
Ya ya, very easy and routine to lower the hammer on a live round. And yet, I've seen competitors DQ'd more than once with accidental discharges while doing so. No thank you.
So have I - but I've done it hundreds if not thousands of times in matches and never been DQ'd - so don't suck.
How does it compare to the Walther PDP Match? You're the only one I've seen that's shot both.
So basically still obsolete in the US market like it always has been. CZ still dominates lmao
Canik
Ribbed for his shooting pleasure? Shoulda called it a trojan.
IPSC is a European shooting sport? You mean it's the world pistol sport. Me being in South African and it being world wide. Where USPSA started off with IPSC and then in some ways lost the plot. ;-)
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸💯💯🔫🔫☕️☕️
big pass
Still just another 9mm
Pretty mid
Wow these newer guns are getting uglier and uglier......
Ok boomer.
Interesting take. I quite like it…..and I’m not young. 😂
Frame looks like it was made on 200 dollar 3d printer
Being “wrong handed” I guess I’ll unsubscribe.
So sensitive
I’ve put up with lefty discrimination for 60 yrs. I’ve had enough. So asshole righties that are smug and act superior.
That thing is so ugly 🤢
Sorry but before I get a $1,300 dollar gun I wait to see the feed back from many other shooters, that's like the issues now being reported on the Canik Rival-S & some of their other models having issues. Also why I held back on the RIA 5.0e, I'll do a wait and see. So far I only have two guns I never was sorry for purchasing & that's my Shadow2 & my 686+.
