They call those detention systems in my area. Depending on the size of the property, it has to hold a certain amount of water and only allow it to flow off the property through a 6 inch diameter pipe to avoid flooding the streets. It can take a day or two to flow out. Some places with sandy ground are required to have retention ponds where the water soaks into the ground instead of going into a storm sewer.
It does help when the property actually keeps up with maintenance. Thats part of what him and the fellow tradies were talking about, all sorts of issues going on there, sewage included
DA descends into the pit of slough by climbing down Jacob’s ladder (metaphorically speaking) and then clears up a two year blockage. Terrific work. Best channel on CZcams! Cheers from South Florida.
Reminds me when I travelled Europe one summer, we could smell sewerage from the stormwater drains. Apparently a lot of people still maintained underground septic tanks and instead of calling the sewerage trucks to empty them, they'd connect their tanks into the storm water drains. Every now and again the council or water company would smoke them out and fine them thousands of Euros. Walking the streets in 38 - 40 degree heat and smelling sewerage from the drains wasn't a pleasant thing.
Nice to see the CRS38 for a change Ollie I’ve missed that little jack of all trades 😂😂 yet another fascinating video. Thanks mate for the good work you do
Yeah but what about the drains , Ollie ?! Were any of them blocked ? :D Still waiting for the Ollie/Bruce collab show. It's on my bucket list !! Straya's two best drain guys , East coast and west coast come together to fight the most blocked dunny ever !!!
Actually like the design of the system before it hits the main. When you get a gulleywasher, there’s some retention capacity so it doesn’t overwhelm the main. But the screen needs to be more accessible above ground. Slide gate style would work nicely. Good detective work, God’s blessings on you and your family!
You’ve got to do a video on how you get clean after a job like this! I wouldn’t want to get the van dirty! Also the risk of infections etc. but just cleaning all the tools and camera gear must be a job and a half too! Love the videos. 👍👍
Interesting system of pits for drainage. Glad you could get it cleared, after it being blocked for 2 years!!! Thanks for the video! Stay safe! Blessings........
Always, corn. The world could come to a fiery end and there would be only be cockroaches and corn left behind. This was an interesting job! Nice work, Ollie!
drain clog solved.. no problem with you!! 💪💪💪💪💪 again good work ollie 💪💪don't give up!!! I follow you to all your videos. I'm from Quebec Canada 💪💪💪thank you for sharing with us!! all good 💪💪
When someone asks me why their vehicle, or mower, or tractor isn't running, I point at the carburetor and say- "BLOOKED DRAWN." with my finest knock-off Ollie accent. I get a kick out of it, at least.
If you had all day to do it, a little Ninja Turtle juice in every toilet one at a time might find out where the corn was coming from. The builder would be on the hook for an expensive repair bill. But out of sight, out of mind.
the mystery pipe whats blocking it another fun video love these the best lots water to move lot lovely sounds plus i get hear that jeter what could be better than the jetter
My roommate just got subwoofers in his car and I thought it was him in the garage just blaring them Turns out it was this video. I'm not mad, I'm actually impressed it picked up the low frequency and my headphones could reproduce it so well.
That grille has a pretty tight mesh… that thing will clog up in no time if the maintenance crew don’t hose it off regularly. Nice work getting the flow back.
I think they need to put in a bigger screen and put a long handle on it. The corn is the real evidence. It looks like the consumers don't chew it all. Another excellent job!!
Corn in the Storm!!
lol
If you have to go you have to go.
Grain in the drain ?
Now all we need is a hat for the rat!
Normal here in the U.S. with all of Sleepy Joe Biden's illegal immigrants oh sorry "undocumented citizens" living on the streets...
Maybe not my place to say.....but...THE DOUBLE BARREL!
'When there's corn, there's sewage' is the quote of the year.
That needs to be a t shirt
I prefer “there’s always corn!” Lol!
When Ratty dropped off the pipe into the abyss @14:47
I though he was a gonner.😅
I’ve got to stop reading chats whilst watching lol spoiler alert 😂😂
My heart stopped at that moment

If you place a grill that nothing will get through...... nothing will get through, appearently!
It does help when the property actually keeps up with maintenance. Thats part of what him and the fellow tradies were talking about, all sorts of issues going on there, sewage included
"And we're in like Flynn", had to make sure I wasn't over on EEVBlog there for a second. Shout out to Dave and all his drain cleaning viewers. 🤣

Yeah... don't jump into dark "water"...🤮
Love storm water videos too, it's like a upsize of the typical drains and pipes. Glad Ratty was rescued, he needs to know that ain't a diving pool. 😅
Ollie, you are a genius……extraordinary understanding of storm drains. I wouldn’t be sticking my hand in the murky scungey water.
DA descends into the pit of slough by climbing down Jacob’s ladder (metaphorically speaking) and then clears up a two year blockage. Terrific work. Best channel on CZcams! Cheers from South Florida.

Every time I feel unmotivated, I just think of ollie and ratty. If they can always get the job done no matter what, so can I.
That grille has a pretty tight mesh… that thing will clog up in no time if the maintenance crew don’t hose it off regularly.

I think they need to put in a bigger screen and put a long handle on it. The corn is the real evidence. It looks like the consumers don't chew it all. Another excellent job!!
Being familiar with that sites quality of work, nothing about that corn surprises me.

At least the storm drain grates are easy to remove not like the one that was in the parking garage you were in on the last video Ollie
"There's always corn" - love it. Thanks for the video.
