God, I love this man! As a Jew, I say thank you for standing with us. As a gay man, I say thank you for being such an astounding role model in the truest sense of the word. I have honestly never had anyone that I truly could see my values in and could aspired to emulate as much as him. With such a clear moral compass, he definitely earned this award. My experience was the same as yours, as I walked across Bryant Park, having cancelled our flight home to Israel on the 7th, feeling violated and distraught, we saw the parade of demonstrators in support of what we were not able yet to comprehend.
