- Howdy there folks. Made a video questioning why these games keep getting made, and how they get greenlit in the first place. This isn't a video as to why they failed. That's a dead topic and I'd just be beating a dead horse. Anyways I'm sure no one reads this, but my next video will be about John Marston, and the many themes of Red Dead Redemption.

Exactly this lmao, I only have time for one live service game I’m intended to play indefinitely and have absolutely zero interest in playing more than Fortnite

I think the big problem executives aren't realising when they dump millions into a live service is that you need a VERY good reason for people to actually come to your game over Fortnite, and also you need to strike at the right time when Fortnite has a mini-exodus of players. The first of which just does not happen because these games are shoved out long before anything but the cosmetic store is ready, and the latter of which is a lightning in a bottle event. When even mega-hit brands can't make a dent in Fortnite's pie you know it's not possible to brute force
Not true epic actually takes pride in their game and you can see and hear the passion behind their updates, same with Warframe. You’re allowed to play Fortnite and any other game you want 😂😂😂 devs have trouble caring about their game just chasing what they think are trends probably the companies fault

Suicide squad in particular kinda feels like hate towards Arkham fans. Especially with Harley's speech to Batman before she "killed" him. I refuse to believe that Bruce doesn't wear a bullet-proof mask XD

The answer is a lot simpler: Those were money sucking live services not real videogames of course they were gonna fail.
Gotham Knights very obviously was going to be a live service but they chickened out and tried to take out the live service but couldn't do so enough.
You can blame fortnight for all this. All theses game companies want their own fortnight, but don’t know what makes that game so popular.

Gotham Knights is the best out of the bunch. I had some enjoyment from it, where as Avengers and Suicide Squad wasn't even worth the download.

Yeah I agree. I enjoyed Gotham Knights, at least u could get stuff even if some grind was involved but loathed Avengers and didn’t play SSKTJL coz it looked bad.
I had more fun with avengers because the combat is better. Knights’ combat is so shallow and boring.
Avengers was def most fun out of the 3 for me, Gotham knights felt slow and the combat was uninteresting and I never did or would have touched suicide squad.
Majority of the characters in avengers had a bit of nuance to them (in the form of some characters just blatantly being better at and clearly made to do certain things others gameplay wise) as well as somewhat fun combat. The issue was the content, the characters they chose and ofc predatory monetization.
@@user-wy1et9dk9w I agree. I hated the enemy types in Avengers, but the hero move sets were as perfect as any game has even been (except for Wolverine). I loved playing as every character. They were all different save for Hawkeye and lady Hawkeye. It’s such a shame they fucked the combat with awful enemy types that made all hero moves and combos useless

When it comes to the casting choices of Marvel Adventure, Insomniac Spiderman 2018 game features a protagonist that looks NOTHING like Tom Holland and yet it worked (especially when it came out). Had the Avengers game been good no one would bat an eye.
Because these spider men are NOT Tom Holland + Tobey was first and Andrew was second before Tom
theres a reason why the spiderman coop game was canceled, because it would've been hard to make it work, sure the idea is cool but how many street thugs are you gonna beat up till it gets stale
You can say the exact same thing about every game. Hell you mainly beat up thugs in Spider-Man and batman games yet they’re still fun
A way out and it takes two are basic and are carried by the co op factor. HD2 only focuses on co op missions against bugs and robots with the same missions repeated and they’re all fun and great games. Beating up thugs and pulling off combos and swinging around with a friend would be awesome
@@user-to4zl8wf2n i agree! played miles and the remastered spiderman really enjoyed it! what im getting at is after hours of maybe completing the whole game, and your just left with the regular thugs it would've felt stale, thats what i feel like anyways after a few days of 100% spiderman and i didnt even finish the side missions in miles morales. i think the reason it got canceled was maybe it would've been difficult to have players keep playing, i hope they still considering bringing it back though, because i think we made it clear that a lot of us want it

To be honest, if I we're to choose between the 3, I would rather take Avenger's and Gotham Knights over suicide squad. At least those games have good story mode and not everyone uses a gun in those games, but that's just my opinion.
The sad thing is, Avengers is the best out of all of these games.

I feel like its not just for money but game industry as a whole .the developers have become much more inclined to not stay on same project or get recycled in and out so fast that it no longer is a tight nit team tbat makes these games. So its easier to just make the cookie cutter same game
The answer is these games weren't made for fans/gamers but for Consumers, the ones who'll take anything without asking a single question, and are willing to pay shit ton for it. At least that's what their respective studios and/or their parent companies thought.

It’s not about “common sense.” It’s about money. Hire a cheaper company to make a game that makes money. It’s not about researching the product quality. It’s about researching the numbers. What games sell? How much does it cost to make a game? How can we make a game like that that cost less?
They don’t know anything about games. They care about money. Additionally, we are easy marks. The fact that Fortnite is still one of the most popular games is the reason why we are easy marks. But, the problem is, we aren’t *THAT* dumb. [>

'Gotham Knights' is probably the only one out of all the games featured in this video that ABSOLUTELY NOBODY knew came out nor even existed. It's like the game just came and went in like a month after released.
Fantastic video dude you smashed it, it's a shame an actual decent marvel game that tried something different in Midnight Suns got barely any attention, btw it was patched and updated and runs well now at 60fps with ray tracing on consoles so give it a shot if for those that have been hesitant .
CEOs make shortsighted, nonsensical decisions and demand that studios destroy themselves chasing trends to please shareholders who honestly seem to think that a game company could somehow make the infinite money glitch work in real life.
They don't care how good the product is, how badly it impacts the industry or their employees, or if it burns the studio itself down. All they care about is making the numbers go up enough next quarter to make themselves look good to ensure their next fat bonus. If it fails, then the workers who did all they could and beloved games get the axe so the studio can be sold for parts and ensure that the company can file for more tax breaks for the loss.

The Fortnite affect
Not gonna watch this full video cause I’m 100% expecting to see these games get hated on so I’ll answer the question in the title for you. These games were made for me. The guy who loves comic books loves multiplayer and isn’t a super mega video game critic. Sure these games aren’t the best and all had issues what game doesn’t have any problem. Ik they weren’t the most well received or the most popular games but I put countless hours into avengers and Gotham knights with my best friend during and after quarantine. I love those games and have such fond memories of me and aiden staying up late asf cause we wanted to unlock a specific move in the skill tree for avengers or because not getting off when we are tired cause we had more crimes to do in Gotham knights. Suicide squad Was meh but was fun the first time around. I love avengers and Gotham knights and the only issue I have with them is that there aren’t more playable characters and constant updates. If you don’t like them I’m sorry and I wish u could have enjoyed them as much as I did.
Never played Fortnite never have never will and im a never say never kinda a guy.

If we being real avengers was actually decent. They just didn’t update it nearly enough and the fact that it was a live service game made a lot of people write it off immediately.
Gotham Knights is by no means the game I want to see be done more with how it was presented but I honestly liked it without worrying over the grindy parts. Honestly, I got a game that I’ve been wanting to play. I’m bummed how it turned out in the end but GK may just be my guilty pleasure.
It was a solid single player game with zero live service elements. It could have been better - the traversal was really uneven between characters, and the city was pretty barebones - but it had a solid enough story and characterization.

Gotham Knights and Avengers were good single player story but Suicide Squad messed up that also.
But Gotham Knights also had slightly better gameplay compared to Avengers.
One good thing i can say about Knights is how it handled Harley. Its an interesting deviation and i think it shows that she can work as a full on villain , not just a henchman-woman. The voice actress was good at portaying an older Quinn who got over the Joker. Her outfit in the final mission was 10/10 design wise. And you cant tell me her prison sequence with Livin La Vida Loca playing in the background was not hype as hell
Guess what those same guys who left are the ones who wanted the story to be like that. They saw the backlash and left others to deal with their sh*tty decisions.
Remember when games came out with self contained missions ,action, dlc and multiplayer with character's we know and love? That's how I view these games. Where did this live service label come from.🤷🏽♂️
Avengers was a good game, I've completed the single player campaign and was satisfied.
Gotham Knights is a good game, I've completed it solo and also played it with a friend, it was very fun
I like the idea they bring light to Heroes/Villains we barely see games for. Obviously they could have done a better job I don’t praise these games but I like the concept.
Can't wait for the next Spider-Man 4 video.

As my personal opinion as someone who tried all 3, I felt like Avengers was fun... for the first 2 hrs. Gotham Knights was fun. It was no Batman Arkham, but it was fun. I couldn't stand Suicide Squad it's so mean spirited for no reason. Keep in mind that I bought all of these on sale after the game came out
I liked the marvel games single player, didn't force the multiplier and gave us some true comic book stories
The Avengers game was actually decent during the story parts of the game, and DLC. The bad part of that game was the live action stuff it mainly focused on. The live action was where the endless grind came in.
At least the characters had their own abilities where Suicide Squad it’s the same shooting garbage
Tbh the idea of a co-op superhero game that gets regular updates is a good idea. These games obviously didn't stick the landing. But it's still a good idea.
I'm actually playing Gotham Knights at the moment, and I find myself ... enjoying it. The fact I expected it to be bad may factor in, but I'm having fun nevertheless. I did also play Avengers and I did not enjoy it at all. Gotham Knights was a way more enjoyable experience to me. A bit grindy and repetitive yes, but I'm having fun dagnabbit! As for Suicide Squad, it just doesn't appeal to me at all. But to each their own. Why I enjoy Gotham Knights is a mystery to me, but ... I do.

Only played Marvel Avengers, SOLOD the whole lot. Platinum was easy once i figured out i can just run past enemies in the hives and hold circle till i hit transition, 50 hive trophy still took me 12-20 hours but cut down on the grind of not having to fight through all 5 levels.
the other two....didnt even bother to look at it. never will.
At least Gotham Knights killed off Batman in a proper way by having him go down in a fight with Ra’s Al Ghul. Unlike Kill the Suicide Squad where they killed off Batman by having him get shot in the head by Hayley Quinn.

i loved gotham knights. the co op campaign was so much fun
I found avengers rlly fun. I liked the story and the characters. However the promised stuff never coming and the live service aspect is what killed it. Also it gets boring quickly as most missions are the same.
Gotham knights was pretty good. Story was decent and the characters were fun. Combat was cool but idk it felt too difficult to me but then again I wasn’t used to it much. What killed it was its comparisons to the Arkham franchise.
SSKTJL was pretty fun. Good story (until we start to kill the justice league. When that happens it all becomes shit) and fun traversal. However the skins in shop are awful reskins and the content in season 1 is so disappointing as there just isn’t much new content. Just reused content.
Overall they are ok side games to play but they are all underwhelming in the long run. I did enjoy all three and probs will but avengers and ssktjl felt too much of a grind and Gotham knights is good but there is just something about it which doesn’t look right. I rlly hope we get more games like Gotham knights and Arkham games where it has a good single player story and other characters to select and play as well.
Also one thing I dislike game wise about each is: avengers for me takes AGES TO LOAD (although that could be a me problem tbh), Gotham knights felt rlly laggy on pc (again probs a me problem) and finally SSKTJL had the problem of basically every character feeling the same.
I think that what these developers don't understand is that if the content is good, the money will flow. A live service game doesn't have to be inherently bad but they don't care about if the story is or if the grind loop is fun and if those things were good then people will throw money at it.

I liked the avengers game to a point story was ok weird how it had sentinels in the end of the story the characters as in the original ones were mostly good when it came to combat and movement minus miss marvel Jr but Thor cap and iron man were the most fun for me especially loved thors attack with his hammer where you could pin some enemies down with it and i did like the fact of finally getting to fight the maestro even though it wasn't that great it was good seeing him if that makes sense
I'm still playing ark knights . It's definitely different. It's not completely bad . Would have been Kool to play everybody . Like all of them . Each having there own goals and story
As an exoprimal fan I really laughed at suicide squad. Everybody Shitted on Capcom, but money practises aside, at least exoprimal was a functional game with cool unique suits and Dinos to shoot at.
If they would have based Marvel's Avengers on the Non-MCU, it would have been MUCH better,
They show investors Fortnite and tell them that this game will get all of that golden mom’s credit card money. They never will though, that won’t stop them from trying and failing.
You can add Marvel Rivals to the list as well smh, Avengers went wrong not having enough content being live service, i think they were really worried about end game content more so than the actual campaign, Gotham Knights had no end game with an ok campaign, could've gave us multiple endings instead

Therese studios should have bought the rights to X-men Legends and remade it using the PS5 power and tweaked the story just enough to make a masterpiece

Honestly I get why people don't like them but I enjoy Gotham Knights enough, I feel like it just didn't live to its full potential, and SSKTJL I have a ton of fun playing, now I just mostly come back for the DLC characters but I still enjoy it, might be the minority of people that actually enjoyed the story, just wish the JL had unique kinda long death scenes. (Avengers is just straight ass)

Suicide squad was made for us. It’s just WB got it’s hands all over it and monetized the hell out of it. You can even tell the developers are trying hard to put it off because they’re making duplicate skins. Like you have a few different JL costumes and a few different classic outfits

Avengers when it was done was fun but it took so long to get there people stop caring ...they needed to do new factions and enemy types along with a more consistent rate drop of new Avengers
It's simple really, combine the success with Fortnite and other live service games with superheroes. The problem is that people are tired of superhero movies and devs think they can attract them with video games. Hopefully this is the end of superhero live service games.

You know what is funny ever since that failure of a game called Suicide Squad came out and completely disrespected the Arkham Series Arkham Fans have been playing the Arkham Series now more than ever, also we need Lego game to come back that might just be me saying that but those were enjoyable.

Say what you want avengers was a good game, each character was unique(story & combat wise) they just lacked post game content after the war for Wakanda DLC they just gave up smh….as for suicide squad(also fun) but seems to fall into the avengers category with the lack of post game content
