Beautiful video, just in time for the waning moon cycle. (One word of caution to people who wanted to use the ash suggestion: do NOT use hardwood ashes….hardwood ashes and water make LYE…I would just say, do your research or use something else).

Yes! Omg I didn’t even think to mention that. Thanks Alisha 🙏🏻 I’ll pin your comment.
I use incense ash to do this. It sounds a bit gross but I take the end of the stick (the bit that is left after it’s burned down) and lick it. Then dip it in the incense ash and use it as a kind of pen.

@@JessicaandtheMoon No worries! I feel like it’s something we’d assume people would know……but there is so much old school knowledge (like making soap and older methods of laundry) that has become more specialized and less common.
Using the incense as a “pen” is really convenient! Never thought of that.

Other objects to use for the bath exercise (to write on yourself but easily wash off) can be pencil eyeliner and tattoo makers. Thank you for this, Jessica. I appreciate you making this video.

Thank you so much for your wonderful video. I have got rid of people pleasing by just saying "no" and even though I have felt guilty but I would resent that person for me pleasing by even though I am a kind hearted woman I learned that at times it was great to say "no" . I do the breathing technique and I have had a bath too. You could shout these words outside as long as nobody sees you.😁 I love your videos so much. ❤🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Thank you for this video, it's great to hear someone talk about how to actually let go and to acknowledge that it's hard. The shadow bag is a great concept, I certainly have one, and I daren't look into it because it just reminds me why I am such a rubbish person (exaggeration, but you know what I mean). Your advice is concrete, doable and comes from a person who's been there. It's helpful and much appreciated.

Thank you so much for so generously sharing your insights with us, Jessica. I use an old tissue box and if a person/situation that I’m stewing over having intrusive thoughts about I take a wee piece of paper, write it down (brief note), I’ll offer a prayer ‘help me release (person/situation)’ & then place it into the box.m, and stop thinking/ruminating about it. And every time it comes up again I do the same thing & further ask goddess/universe to help that person with whatever Higher Intelligence knows they need help with (not what I think they need help with!) and write brief note (maybe just person’s initials, etc) and ask to release this person/situation into goddess’ care. I do this anytime it comes up for me and I Do Not empty the box to re-read notes Nor count how many times I’ve done it as I feel that act wd cancel any of the “releasing into goddess care” (not trusting the goddess). It’s not long before I realize that ‘oh wow I haven’t thought of it for some time!’ And I leave the notes in the box and keep it in the closet (i don’t want it in my view, i just take it out when need to. Then there might be a few more situations that i process like this until the box seems to be getting near full. My intuition will let me know when to bring it to a private place on beach where I scoop a bowl in the pebbles/sand near water and take out each piece (without re-reading) burn it praying/offering gratitude for healing and i softly chant (the chants just come out, not English just sounds) i ashes into the pebbles, and do this until the box is empty then i swish the pebbles and ash into the water (i might be called to offer gratitude for healing chant, each time is different). Respectfully, kari 🦊🥰🦊

Oh Jessica, Thank you for addressing this so openly. I hear you and love that you put this together and broke it down for us all. I will be showing this to my mediation group this week. There is only 3 of us....but its amazing that when we come together each week. Its our time to plug into our inner child and just be ourselves. We stop for those few hours being a mum, a sister, a friend, a aunt, a wife. We just come together, meditate to a guided children mediation that goes for 10-20 mins. We have a 5-10 minutes of fame each...where we talk about our week each. I cook up a dinner for us to share. We talk about topics like this, do the odd burn off at the new moon and full moons. We Ummmmmm in a circle and let our voices blend together to clear our Chakra. We just wing it and at the end of the night. We do our little clap out. ( you know when your a child at school and you sing a song and stand across from your friend at school and clap your hands together up and down and then together....well thats the 3 of us at the end of the night. We laugh and pee ourselves sometime with all the joy we have. We celebrate being a woman and we listen to each other so deeply. Some night if one of us just needs to get it all out...and it takes up a the whole night together due to having to release what ever that person is stuck on. And there is absolutely NO judgement. Just space to be heard and held if need be. It's always such a scared time we share with each other each week. From listening to your channel we have now started using the Womanrunes. Of course we have Oracle decks which we also pull from. But it from woman like yourself Jessica that we have created this space. So Thank you for sharing all you have, and continue to share in the future. We may only be 3 middle aged Crones having a whale of a time in Australia. But the information you share has had a big ripple effect on how we celebrate woman we know. Thank you ...Terri from Australia 🦘 🇦🇺 💜xxx

I've found that sometimes some of the things that are not serving me are things that seem impossible to let go of, because it is still so raw. I have had to learn to deal with it, to live with it until the day comes that I really can let it go. That will be a good day and a much lighter shadow bag. This is a very helpful video. Thank you.

That’s such a good point Trish. Sometimes we still hold on because the alternative is more scary. Who are we without a particular pain/ behaviour. But time, like you said, that helps 💗

  • @andrastetriformis6241

I agree. Taking an action, symbolic or actual, moves our consciousness to a deeper state, making the release tangible and lasting. Great technique share! Also, thanks so much for the great Stationary Pal goodies! They arrived the day I got home from the hospital after having 3 strokes! It brought my spirits up seeing that box waiting for me! I'm doing better and having some new journaling items is good therapy! Thanks again! ❤❤❤

Really love this Jessica. especially connecting the elements, that's brilliant, really. I remember I used to talk about how when we are born we are this bright, shiny, glowing little person but over time our shine gets covered over with all the shit that gets thrown at us over time. Recovery (mental health, substance use, trauma) is all about getting our shine back. I remember the first time I saw my nephew lose some of his shine. Someone stole his first bike. I'll never forget that moment.
Anyway, one thing I do "in the moment" with things that I know I tend to throw in my "shame bag" or a habit that I'm trying to break. I put my hand up and say "stop" or "no" to give myself a moment to think about what I am doing since, as a true Pisces, I am very impulsive. Sometimes I can just reject it right away and sometimes I will "postpone" action on it for a bit.

Very sweet and witchy ways to release things, i love it! I also appreciate good old elemental workings ☺️ Once when working with my coven we used an apple to release and transform whatever it was we thought was necessary so we cut words and symbols into the apple and then bury it out in the garden so it fertilised the ground for other things to grow ☺️

I just can't thank you enough for this video, Jessica! I'm close to your age (just a couple years older) and I know one of the bits of shame I shove into my shadow bag has to do with still working on this stuff "at my age." Thank you so much Jessica! I will do my best to make this brief😜 so here goes.
I've been a student of numerology/reiki/tarot/astrology, and just revisiting pagan/wiccan concepts from when my dear friend introduced me to this about 25 years ago during my divorce. I'm not as proficient as I like to be, and on a more intentional path of spirituality to incorporate all these into my daily life. I love crystals/gems/runes, what they represent, and have a deep belief on how the energy of what you speak of creates an environment of beautiful changes- I call them mini miracles that happen everyday when we look for them.
With a shadow bag, what type of things do you put into it? I love that you provided the "how to" with the elements of Fire/Air/Water/Earth 😘 Also, I shared this video info with my son who just called me (he has some mental health issues and we've been dealing with this for over 20 years-he's now 40) and shared with him my thoughts and what I'm going thru at work, and encouraged him to do the same for his paranoia. Again, thank you so much 💖 I learn so much from you and the wisdom shared on this channel. You are an angel and a blessing
    😇🙏

It’s comforting, I find, to have these supportive practices in our lives. I love that you shared the ideas with your son too. I hope you both see benefits from them.
With the shadow bag, anything can go in there. It’s the place where we keep anything and everything we would rather not look on in the cool light of day. But it helps so much when we do start looking in there. A lot of gifts/ abilities which are not currently valued in our culture can end up in there too ❤️
