The Bug activates a saucer to try and leave Earth, but Agent J (Will Smith) and Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) shoot down the ship. The ship crashes, leaving them with no choice but to confront the Bug.

I assume he landed on this planet small, and overtime he grew. That's why overtime the body was decaying, & he was walking & moving less normal.

I never understood why the bug couldn’t talk anymore once he took the skin off to reveal himself. He spoke in the beginning before he killed the farmer..

it doesn't speak but only with a ship in the open scene and the skin of edgar try to intiminate but barely fitting in with the voice to try speak like a human but abit rusty for a alien bug after its been wearing the skin too long and walking abit funny making weird noises it kinda hard to do that tho for the bug
Is it a problem? I never understood how so huge beast could fold himself into a man. At least his only tail as long and massive as J.
Animating for speech is difficult, especially for a model like this with the profile of a rotting shark jaw. They likely just couldn't get it to look convincing enough, so best to not even bother.

Probably done it before with nastier species. This would just be standard routine for K.

Agent J was actually born October 19th, 1965. So he was in fact alive in 68’. And plot twist, Agent K knew it the entire time...apparently.
I also thought when J went back in 1969 to find young K, J said he was recruited 25 years from than so the first film could have took place in 1994. I thought of that because of his dob mentioned when J was putting his recruitment info.
I mean I WILL say in the 3rd films defence it could explain why K was insistent on getting J in the MiB I mean Zed was hesitant because he thought that putting J in based solely on the fact he chased down a cephalopod on foot was a bit of a stretch considering his issue with authority. But K insisted on it. So it does kinda work.

Too bad they never got to use L in any of the movies and they just mention her in MIIB to get rid of her. In the animated series she was great.
The animated series was a much better follow up tot he movie than the sequels were in my eyes.

Seeing this, I can kinda understand why K didn't want J to start off with the big guns. I mean, he could barely handle the gun that could blow up a car, how's he going to handle a gun that can shoot down an entire ship?

Yeah I got that too... That's a huge continuity mistake unfortunately. MIB3 is a film done with heart but they really should have make the timeline works.

Absolutely true and studio's don't care about a good story they just care about money and that's it so it's those idiots fault but not entirely because half the time it's also the audience with all due respect they can be pretty stupid so either way we are fucked unless Director's like Cameron, Nolan, Spielberg, Tarantino are making it of course other then that we are fucked and it's so sad.
One thing I never quite understood is why they got rid of Agent L's character in the second movie when it looked like they where trying to set her up it especially baffles me when they had her as a main character in the animated series.

It took awhile but I finally figured out what K said before they shot the ship. He meant they'll use maximum firepower with a factor just under the speed of sound.
