Wow! How fun! We have water treatment plants all over the US. It is clean and safe to fish in Long Beach. Some people are just not fond of eating raw fish, but so many love to eat sashimi, and sushi

As a spearfisherman, Opaleye has become my absolute favorite for sashimi. Also, dry-aged opaleye is INCREDIBLE!
Mejina sashimi! Skin on is tops. My dad and I used to fish with peas specifically for the opaleye. Caught opaleye, buttermouth perch, rubber lip perch, sargo, all kinds of stuff on peas. Fresh mussels work really well, too. Not sure about yellowtail, though. That's a predatory pelagic. I could see hooking a smaller fish on a pea, though, and a yellowtail maybe taking that fish.

Love the videos Taku! Keep up the good work. I would love to hear you extensively talk about food safety of eating fish raw, especially perch. I've been doing it for years without a problem, but I know lots of people are concerned with parasites within different types of fish.

Great fishing adventure. Taku is like "I'm not good at fishing, I just cook" the most important part is cooking/preparing. Kaca life is cool, I'd go fishing with him, sit back and take the fish he's not going to enjoy...my new BFF :)

iso fishing is fun mate, we get big drummer, bream, treavally even rat kingfish (you call it yellow tail) with iso set up, groper, luderick, wrasse, morwong, it gets you absolutely everything!

Hawaii (island of Oahu) has a marine preserve called Hanauma Bay, and eventually there were so many visitors who wanted to feed the fish bread etc that it made the water dirty so the approved treat to give to the fish was green peas. Nowadays, I don't know if they allow feeding the fish at all, but the green peas didn't crap up the water.
Bread is made up of a lot of ingredients and causes the dirty water. Green pea... is.. just green peas and is a nature vegetable as if is like a sea plant. So it won't dirty up the water and goes back to the environment naturally.

Orion rules with sushi/sashimi/wasabi. I'm 45 minutes from Long Beach...check out the Shoreline Village area and the 3 story restaurant Parkers Lighthouse across from the Queen Mary, you might enjoy that place.

green peas worked very well in Hawaii when i live there. i have no clue why though. it was used in snorkeling bays too, to get fish to come over to the tourist

My favorite location to fish before I sold my last boat. I strictly did catch and release for other reasons at almost every location in So Cal.
And that reason is? High pollution?
